For a tiny airport I was so impressed. Check in went smoothly, as did security. Having an ICD I cannot go through the x-ray machine but I was frisked meticulously. Better even than Heathrow. Once through this there was ample space for a sit down or, as we did, enjoyed our last pint of REAL Guinness. A really nice end to our short break on the Emerald Isle. read more

Londonderry Airport is located in the North West of N.Ireland. The Airport is small and has flights to the UK with Ryanair, and BA. The routes have recently changed from BA to FlyBe, and the Glasgow route being cancelled. Derry Airport is great if you dont want long security lines, and long check-in lines. The downside to this is the lack of facilities, the departure lounge is small, and the food is not cheap, but no airport food is cheap anyway. The walk between plane and terminal is short, but when it rains can seem much longer. Derry is undergoing runway improvements, and the apron is being increased in size to accomodate more aircraft. read more
