Downstairs is a large weights room, filled with the local meat heads all trying to out do each other with their with their giant muscles, tight t shirts and questionable B.O. They also offer a a womens weight room, a circuit room, and two cardio rooms- One with a giant screen that pumps out the latest music videos. That is,when MTV or VH1 bother to play music anymore. But thats another story...... Everything is new, clean and really well kept. I love the privacy that the womens weights room allows, and its nice to be in the cardio room sweating it out to the giant screen, rather than constantly trying to put my earphones back in as I run ( read: walk fast) on the treadmill. They have a pool too, and offer kids swimming lesons in the evening. The spa and sauna are quite nice too, albeit abit small. If I was ever going to join a gym and buy a membership, it would be here. Though lets face it, in reality Im not going to. Oh well, think I ll go see whats on TV.

Personally, I get bored clocking up k's on the treadmill, and the weights are a little intimidating to me. Going to a class is a way to keep me motivated, push me to challenge myself and feel comfortable all at the same time. The exercise room is quite large, and whilst the classes get quite packed, there is plenty of space. My favourite classes are the Sh'Bam and Zumba classes - both dance basedand very fun. It doesnt feel like hard work which is awesome! The instructors are great, and will work with you if you are injured, or at a lower or higher fitness level. Plenty of parking around the building, and a huge number of available classes means you really dont have any good excuses here at Fenix!

When they tried to convince you to become a member, there was alot of promises (ie) bags, drink bottle and towel ( I dont need them but a promise is a promise). I run my own business but once you made a promise to a customer it must be follow through. They told me if I introduced more friends and family members and if these people join I will get $1 off my memebership, this also never follow through. I also joined my daughter in and they said because she is under the age of 16 still going to school, therefore can be cancelled anytime without a fee. I have tried to cancel her membership for the past one month with more than dozen phone calls and messages, NO BODY HAVE A DECENCY TO CALL ME BACK. I also dropped into Watergardens and left messages and once again NO PHONE CALLS. They keep on taking weekly charges from my account. I now want not only to cancel my daughter and also my membership BUT THEY MAKE IT TOO TOO DIFFICULT! My family members and also friends will not be attending and using their service once their membership expired. NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE IN USING THERE SERVICE! There are other gyms nearby that can provide better customer service. I will now bring my money elsewhere. A VERY ANGRY UNHAPPY CUSTOMER THAT HAVE TO SEE THE STAFF AT WATERGARDENS FOR THE PAST 12 MONTHS.

Many summers of my childhood and teenage years were spent at the St Albans pools, laying around…read moregossiping with my friends, splashing boys in the water and just all around making memories to last a lifetime. I also learnt to swim here when I was 4 years old, by a teacher who taught us that if you couldnt learn to blow bubbles in the water, you'd never swim to the deep end (So true). During university, my friends and I would go and sweat it out our blood alcohol content from the night before in the aerobics or spin classes, and occasionally hit the gym to tone up in time for summer. And my mum would come swimming here, or take a water aerobics class in the indoor heated pool when recovering from knee surgery- the same pool that I came to during school swimming lessons every year. Even with upgrades, the buildings are old, the floors feel kinda gross coming out of the pools, and Ive seen so many saggy boobs in the changing rooms that Im scarred for life. But this place is for the locals. And I never realised, until writing this review, how many memories it holds for me.

Took advantage of their Free 5 day pass with my team mates…read more Gym owner Aleks was super lovely and spent at least an hour with us customising a session and listening to our health goals. The major appeal was the 'High Altitude Training' and their 'Ladies Only Zone' which had a mecca of weight equipment. Feeling lucky that I'm out of contract with my current gym because I can definitely see this place as my new playgroud.
