Couldn't believe how expensive they are considering. If you need flexibility and want to lift weights go anywhere else but here!!!

This is one of the biggest gyms I've ever been to!…read more Whenever I've started going to a new gym I've always been a bit self conscious and overwhelmed by the amount of different equipment and the physique of some of the gyms patrons. I nabbed a Perry good deal, signing up for $266 for a year which includes 24hr access to all facilities and a great range of classes. I've been going for about 3 weeks now and have found it to be quite clean with friendly staff and and instructors. Whilst I still haven't ventured over to the weights section, the cardio section is great - so many treadmills and bikes, I haven't one felt like I have needed to wait for a piece of equipment. There is a women's only room too, so ladies if you don't feel like working out in front of the guys, you can sneak on in to your own private section which has a mix of cardio and weight based equipment for use. So far I've really enjoyed the classes. I've tried Zumba, step and Pilates but there are so many mute to choose from including boxing, Body pump, Body attack, metafit. Check out their Facebook page or download the app to check out what classes they are running each week (generally consistent) For the price paid and the facilities available, it's a total steal!

The only bad thing I would say is that their promotions are scams. I got a text offering membership for $15.50 a week. When I went in it was $22 a week. Oh and no windows in the building means it's pretty stinky. They need some Glade Sensations or something. But nonetheless, you can always jump on a machine as there are heaps. There are also no burly muscle guys being weirdos in the corner which is great as that is what usually deters me from joining a unisex gym. Opening hours are also good - until 10pm! Means I can finish work late and still make it.

The class is different each time (definitely not Bikram!), and both the sanskrit and common names for poses are used. The instructor moves between students and helps with poses, uses fun - though low-energy - tunes, and offers multiple options for different skill levels (as an arm-balance newbie, I really appreciate an atmosphere that encourages development while doesn't judge newer or less-strong students). I decided to take the plunge when my local gym had a membership sale and I employed the services of 3 Point Training. I never thought I could get to where I am now. I am confident and comfortable being in the gym and love training. Matt is a excellent motivator and always helpful, encouraging and is extremely knowledgeable. I can't thank him enough, the training and support has been amazing and I can't recommend them higher.

I was gifted a corporate gym membership; of which sadly had to be returned after six months of use. Although in saying this, I was fortunate to enjoy two casual classes two weeks ago as the company I used to work for had failed to cancel my membership here. An abundant bonus. The classes are exceptional, and so are the instructors - especially Brandon on a Friday afternoon when you join him at 5:30pm for Body Attack, and with him again at 6:30pm for Body Balance - two fantastic Les Mills workouts, and he is a great start to the weekend. The reception staff defy the service you would normally receive from chain stores - they actually know your name and thus greet you by your name the moment they see you before handing in your membership card to be swiped. And when you misplace your card; it is usually immediately ready to re-collect. The launch classes of new releases on the Les Mills workouts are always so much fun. There is a different theme for each new release where you might have to dress up in halloween clothes for instance, and sometimes instructors run special classes for fundraising purposes where you cannot get in without a gold coin donation. Something Brandon did on one of his Friday afternoon Body Attack classes which went for a marathon 90 minutes once; instead of the normal 60 minutes which is intense enough.

I absolutely feel at home here and even though it's not the closest gym to my house, I make the trip.

However, the freak weather we've been experiencing in Melbourne of late (some say this is normal) has forced me to join the bandwagon and become a gym rat. The Fitness First in Richmond is where I'm signed up with but I opted for a passport membership so I can use any other Fitness First in Melbourne and around the world too. I love the fact that the passport system allows you to go to other gyms other than the one you signed up at because my job keeps me mobile and having options is great. I love the Body Balance and Pilates classes at the gym. In fact this is why I signed up and I've not been disappointed yet. I go for an hour class at a time and leave aching (meaning I've worked hard) and looking forward to the next (torture) session. The Body Balance instructors in particular at Richmond are really great. They teach a class full of people but you feel like you're being given attention and they demonstrate really well. Classes are easy to follow, even if you're a first timer and you don't feel ridiculous at all because lots of people are newbies too.
