I like the gym and the treadmills with preva that monitors your exercise progress and you can watch TV or surf the internet during a workout. The gym is always clean and pleasant. I enjoy the Pilates, body balance and yoga classes. Maybe also give Rez fit a go. I can also go to the pool and pop in the spa and steam room before or after. Only downer, ladies change room in aquatic section. The hot water cuts out and the water flow significantly decreases during peak hour shower usage. But I suppose you get that at most pool bathrooms and it's very difficult to address. But no big deal I just use the ladies gym shower and change. But overall I'm glad to have the gym and aquatic membership and enjoy being a member.

There is nothing I love more then to go for a spa and indulge in a steamroom! Although the steamroom needs a little maintenance...the paints starting to peel off on the walls, it still provides a great steam and is very relaxing! The prices are affordable for casual visits and hopefully they will provide good prices for memberships but pretty sure you need to talk to one of the helpful staff to arrange it and find out prices. The gym area looks new and clean and I look forward to using all the new equipment. You can hire a locker for $2 for 2 hours although the first attempt of hiring out a locker it ate my $2 coin and it didnt let me hire the locker but second time round I was succesful! You can pick up a brochure with all of the fitness classes and price lists at the front desk and also find them on the website which is very easy to use!

They call it five star but I don't see anything about it that would give me a remote impression…read morethat it's five star. There is nothing luxurious about the gym. It should be called dungeon gym. They should rename the gym 'the zoo house' or the 'savage ravage bicep loving guys & non stop ass pumping girls gym'. A dungeon gym for hard core lifters. Lots of big guys, bulging veins, heavy lifting and massive traps and lats. Not a sissy in sight. It is a no nonsense gym, lots of heavy dumb bells, a decent squat racks (very important, you'll be surprised how some stupid gyms don't have it), and old school machines and equipments that will make you feel like your back in the golden era. But if your princess, and need to protect your manicure then sorry love you need to look else where. No air conditioning, bathroom or shower facility and hidden cameras everywhere. It cost less than $3 per visit and no lock in contract. No amenity fees. You get what you pay for. Open 24 hours and pop in whenever you want. Just make sure you have plenty of testosterone in the tank because you will need it. Plus as an added bonus, it's located in the gorgeous Thomastown or Thommo. Cons: The hairy ass gorilla of a dude who screams, ego lifts and leaves a pool of sweat behind. -The high pitch doorbell at entrance Pros: Cheap, cheap, cheap. The bros. The testosterone overload. The motivation. The badassery. Not for the faint hearted.

got ejected from this gym today without a refund. despite being let in with my Dr. martens one of…read morethe worker's approached me 30 minutes later on and said i had to either put some old used runners on that he had in the back or be ejected. obviously i'm not putting on a random persons shoes for hygiene reasons especially in flu season. i tried to explain to the worker that i wear them specifically for squatting not because I'm lazy but because they have a raised heel and stiff rubber soles making them the ideal squatting shoe and i have done so in multiple gyms for years. he only cared about the semantics of the no boots rule and after some discussion he said i could finish my last exercise but then cut it short on me because i had too many sets left? he said he was scared to lose his job so i had to leave but said i could take it up with his boss. later i called the boss/manager and told him about the situation and additionally how i have flat feet and require prescription orthotics within a stable shoe for arch support. we discussed how 300-400$ squatting shoes have the same/similar features just with a "sports equipment manufacturers" label on them and a hefty price tag making semantics and labels the sole issue here. how hard is it is distinguish and specify "boot/high cut shoes" from "work boots" or "steel caps" problem solved? but no, it seems they care about language conventions there over the health and safety of human anatomy/joint structure. he explained that i could wear my orthotics in my runners but thats like squatting on marshmallows and since i cant afford dedicated squatting boots i won't be able to train leg's here with the severity of my pronated/flat feet. also they tried to kick me out a week prior for wearing "ascent" brand walking shoes (this particular pair of ascent shoes just so happened to be a mid cut) which are ideal for physical activity and joint support but let it slide the first time because he didn't see me walk in with them. check what you wear before you waste a trip here, with high/mid cut shoes be super carful as they will go out of their way so they can then categorise them as boots and promptly kick you out, even walking shoes aren't safe. obviously you don't want tradies coming in with muddy steel caps tracking mud though the gym and my shoes were probably some of the cleanest in there. but it doesn't take a genius IQ to figure out this was not that situation, never spoken to people so obtuse. go to this gym if it's your last resort only and by god wear shoes that satisfy the nazi shoe battalion and their obsession with semantics.

You don't have to be a member to make use of the facilities, casual passes are also available. The indoor and outdoor pools will be put to good use come summer; there are instructor-led aerobic/swimming/weights/yoga classes that cater to the young and old; and the weights facility has been relocated close to Westfield Doncaster due to the ongoing renovations. For parents with young kids, you can still get in your workout as there is an on-site day care centre. If you enrol your kids in the swimming lessons there is a cafe to cater to your caffeine and nutritional needs.

She is very patient and extremely helpful. My journey from being scared of water to being able to now do backstroke and a little bit of freestyle would not be possible without Kobe's help! Aquarena's pools are clean and very safe with life guards on duty at all times. The change room facilities are also very clean and well maintained and the showers are perfect after a hard swim lesson As they now call me the 'tranfish' I have a lot to live up to and look forward to many more lessons next term. If you can't swim then I highly recommend booking in adult swim classes ASAP!

Can't sleep? Why not go to the gym to work up that desire for a nap!…read more Found opposite Barkly Square - known for its concentration of deep fried foodery places - Doherty's Gym can often be found with a muscle-bound hulk-esque person moving through the doors. Because of this it took me quite a while to actually go in. a few laps past the windows to look in to see the equipment they have available and the membership prices. One night I couldn't sleep - one of the hot sticky nights that sleep just doesn't want to come - so I thought to myself that now is the best possible time to go and try it out. The gym layout is styled on those west coast US gyms you see in the movies. With more equipment than you can imagine - weight training, cardio fitness, boxing and more - I just wanted to run on the treadmill for a few hours. Afterwards the fully stocked Pro Shop for all your training supplement requirements, and what's better is the coffee shop found even closer than you'd expect. Now I guess I'll never sleep. The membership is not the cheapest if you're a "every now and then" kinda gym user but if it's a 4-6 day a week thing this is definitely for you.
