I typically have a dog walker stay with my dog during my vacations, but she was unavailable during my time at the cape. I live on the south shore and while I was booking 2 months in advance, could not find something suitable. That was when I decided to look for a place on the cape, and found this place. What I really liked was that they have visiting hours almost every day. Since our rental did not allow dogs, we could still visit our dog while on vacation. They were so lovely to my dog Thunder, you can tell they enjoy animals here. I provided my own food and they called me when they needed more. I felt my dog was taken care of while she is here and would have her stay again. Definitely recommend. read more

This kennel is wonderful!! We have used them many times for our 2 Labs and have always had a great experience. In September we went on a long vacation and the dogs stayed at Derbyfield for their longest visit ever - 12 days! They were bursting with good health and happiness when we picked them up. Very excited to see us of course, but also just so plainly happy at the kennel and with the staff, galloping around the lobby holding their leashes in their teeth and running back and forth between the kennel staff and us. My dog has stayed here 4 times for 3-7 days each stay and everytime she comes back happy, healthy and exhausted. They don't bay an eye when we bring her homemade dog food that needs refrigeration. This place seems to be run by dog lovers. Highly recommend. read more

My little man stayed here for a night and the staff was super with him. Being a large pit bull that is full of energy he can be a bit off putting. I could tell they were a little nervous, but they took a chance. My plans changed so he only needed to stay 1 night, but they only had wonderful things to say about him. He was happy as a clam when I picked him up. The staff was also really good about his dietary restrictions and severe anxiety. Will absolutely use again when I am staying on the cape. read more

This is a solid kennel and I would not hesitate to use them. Clean, family run business with large runs for your pet. The staff could not be nicer. It is also reasonably priced. I have used them perhaps a half a dozen times. I give it an average rating for a couple of reasons. 1. Small staff. 2. Mostly outdoor runs. 3. They have struggled with an immunization resistant strain of Bordelela disease. I have talked with vets who tell me this is not uncommon but if you have a pet that is susceptible, you may want to try another spot. read more

They have a grooming service, and we brought our golden retriever Barney here for a bath and trim. Barney got his haircut but he still smelled like a zoo animal! This is the first time we've brought Barney for grooming that he doesn't come home smelling nice. Usually, professional grooming (and for the price of $85) will have your dog smelling nice for a week at least. I spoke with the manager and they said they use unscented shampoo - okay that's fine, but other places would have at least offered to make their clients happy ("Bring him back and we'll give him another bath" is what I wanted to hear. So don't go to this place for grooming, they are novice to say the least and have terrible customer service. read more

We always bring our girl here when we vacation. She gets more excited about going here than we do about going on vacation. She bursts through the door and greets everyone like long lost friends, which they are. She never looks back when she leads them to the kennels. When we pick her up she is happy to see us for sure but never leaves without going to each person there and saying good bye. It feels good to know she is well cared for and happy when we are vacationing. I wouldn't use any other kennel. read more
