Almost left destitute by BMW's incompetence. I've had tens of thousands of pounds in unwanted…read morefinance choking my credit report and BMW have gone quiet. Left out of pocket twice due to payments coming out that were unplanned forcing me into an unarranged overdraft. I found a car that I wanted to view on the website, rang up to enquire that it was still available. I was told over the phone that it was, but I would need to pay a deposit to secure the car until I could view later on in the day. They wanted to charge a whopping £500 for this, but backed down in the end to £250. I viewed the car and made the decision to buy it. I was selling my old car (1 series) to partly finance the new purchase (4 series). My car was inspected and given a cost, and we negotiated a price based on this for the car I was buying. We agreed the terms and I walked away expecting to pick up my new car a week later (there was some work to be carried out). Throughout the week I was replying to emails about the car, progress and finance. Everything was OK as far as I was aware and I rolled up on the Friday ready to finalise everything. After a short wait I was shown the car I was planning to purchase. One job was still outstanding (missing internal trim) and the floor mats were now missing though. These were rectified at the time, but it took over an hour to do this. During this time I cleared my old car out and cancelled my insurance to keep the ball rolling. We finally went inside to sign the cars over and when doing so it came to light that a finance form hadn't been filled in. I was made to feel at fault until I provided proof that no such form was ever even sent to me. The form was filled in there and then, but due to it being so late in the day, they wouldn't be able to process the paperwork until the following day (Saturday). I was told that I would have to return the following day to complete the sale which almost tipped me over the edge. I told them that I now had no way of getting home as I had cancelled my insurance. I was offered a loan car to drive home in and return the following day. I informed them that I would be driving the loan car home and that they could collect it from my drive when dropping off my new car. Fair play to the salesman, this is what happened. This should be where the story ends, but this is not the case... Four days after the purchase a direct debit came out of my account for the finance of my old car. I rang up and was told that due to the delays and time it takes to settle finance, there wasn't quite enough time for everything to be settled. I was told that it would be settled within a few days and I would receive a full refund. This I can understand and it's quite acceptable, but then... A month after the purchase a direct debit came out of my account for the finance of my old car, again. BMW hadn't settled my old finance as they had promised. I rang up to complain and was given excuses of how it had happened. Not a single apology over the phone or through emails. I'm now having to take time away from work to get settlement figures all over again too. I've had tens of thousands of pounds in unwanted finance choking my credit report and BMW have gone quiet. Left out of pocket twice due to payments coming out that were unplanned forcing me into an unarranged overdraft. I'm having to ring them on a daily basis to chase something that they're messed up due to their incompetence.

He can't even be bothered to call me back and take a little heat..., instead, gets someone else to call me! They still have not mended my car and are looking at "booking it in"...., guess what guys.... I have already bought a £100,000 BMW, a new Disco 5 from a competitive dealer and next year will buy another RR Sport....from Listers so, Mr. MD of Hunters Derby, not only have you P****D off a customer, but your have also lost £300,000 worth of sales and guess what - I am going to tell everyone I meet!

We have since stayed with Hunters for the vehicle's services & MOTs and I trust them implicity. The site, next to Pride Pack, is well laid out and functional. The staff across all departments are very friendly and I have noticed they don't have much of a staf turnover which I feel is always a good sign that and they get to know you. They are very knowledgable and open, this is especially important when buying a second hand land rover. For the new vehicles the displays are spacious and you are welcome to have a good rummage around the cars. Their service team is wonderful. The option of having the vehicle collect from your door and delivered back is very convenient and courtesy vehicles are available. I have always found them very transparant with costs. On items such as new tyres I enquired about different brands etc which they happily discussed with me and stood by my choice - I have never felt pressurised into items I did not need and have never felt spoken down to. If you are hacing any work done on your vehicle and choose to wait there is a very comfortable client lounge with complimetary tea, coffee, soft drinks and biscuits. There is even a television, selection of newspapers and magazines and a playstation to keep you occupied - it's actually a rather pleasant relaxing place! They also have Land Rover accessories and mechandise on sale so it is a good place for gift buying if you know a Land Rover enthusiast. I find this dealership very comfortable to deal with and this gives me a lot of confidence in them.
