This past week a friend and I took a walk and she requested we stopped. I apologized for the store even before we walked in but my apology wasn't needed. The store has been completely cleaned, repainted and looks fantastic. A cute little corner store with all of the little items you may need. They also have a nice variety of beer. The best part about the place was the worker behind the counter. He couldn't have been more helpful and even said that since we were local he would try to make sure he help our favorite items in stock. Definitely will stop in this store more!

This next observation might only be for this location but it stopped me in my tracks. The first time I went, we had to park in the lot next door and walk in. No problem (the lot was reserved for employee use only). As we were leaving our cart halted short of our destination, so we asked the security guard if we could grab an unlocked cart (our issue was remedied). It's what I saw that was the real eye opener, I witnessed a Walmart employee come bring the young man a plate of food. Whoa. That was cool. Then the second time I went, there were soooooo many employees rushing to stock the shelves and it happened again. Over the intercom this time. "Attention all visiting associates, there are refreshments in the break room " Walmart did you actually bring in people to help get us groceries on the shelves? Did your staff have the courtesy to take care of their staff and those supporting them? Wow! Double wow! It makes me feel a little better to know that this location has it going on, no matter who's idea it was.....it was a great one.

The downside to these locations is that you have to watch your expiration dates like a hawk. There is alot of expired food on the shelves at these stores. During the first week of January, my lifelong friend visited Plush Appeal to purchase Mardi Gras decor for her out of state home. We are natives of New Orleans and were raised with the proper etiquette and respect for ourselves, others and community. We are proud graduates of an affluent Catholic high school and our class of women has made quite a positive impact in this world collectively. With that said, as my friend was shopping she interacted with one of the sales associates and had a lovely conversation. This particular sales associate then left the area. Within minutes two other sales associates approached my friend, accused her of stealing, and when my friend attempted to clear her name and prove her innocence, these women refused. They stated she was on camera and despite my friend asking multiple times for proof and to view the cameras, she was again refused her request. Apparently, two large men were then instructed to escort her out to which she stated she felt extremely uncomfortable. Several of her friends have reached out to the store. Ms. Vee was so nice! CeeCee though ... the manager... when I called to ask for clarification she became nasty and hung up. Long story short, nothing was stolen. If that were the case why not call the police or show the video? Most importantly to note are the differences in skin tones. My friend is an upper class African American female who was seemingly targeted for the color of her skin. Take your business elsewhere!
