Ordered the lake perch dinner on my way home from work yesterday. I've gotten it many times before and it was always good. Last time not so much so I thought I'd give it one more try last night. Again it wasn't good. It's changed from what it previously was. I question whether it's actually lake perch as the pieces are very big and they have a profound fishy taste. Lake perch aren't as big as what you get here. You can see in the pictures. Plus the breading is different. It is very coarse whereas it used to be a very fine breading. While visiting my parents, who live way out in the middle of nowhere, we decided to call and see if, by some rare chance, they could deliver to us. When I started to ask, the girl stopped me, quickly before I could explain where we were, and confidently said, "Yes. We deliver anywhere." It was the kind of confident answer you'd get, if you asked a Navy Seal, if they could handle something. And, indeed they did. They have the worst over the phone customer service I have ever experienced. I called to order a pizza and was put on hold immediately, not Even a hello. I then had to wait 10 minutes to even be asked if I wanted to order. By that time I was over it so I told them thanks but no Thanks and I thought their phone etiquette was not very good. The lady who answered then hung up on me without even saying another word. I called back to see if i could talk to the manager and got the same rude treatment from the same person. She said that I could not waste the manager's time and that she had hung up on me because she had better things to do. She then hung up on me yet again. I've ordered pizza from the other DeRango's here in Racine and in Kenosha and I've never been treated that way. I've never expected to have such rude service from a hometown pizzeria like that. We were in town for a soccer tournament and couldn't decide what to get. When you have a teenage boy and pre-teen boy pizza is always the best option. When I called the person who took the call was accusatory and dismissive. They said ,"well why didnt you call back?" instead of "I apologoze for the mix up?" We had a lot of items delivered to our hotel. It came in about an hour and was hot, the delivery man was pleasant. Disappointed in the lasagna. The only cheese was hidden in the middle congealed to the meat layer. The taste was ok, not great. The fettacinni Alfredo had a nice flavor, but not enough sauce to cover the noodles. The wings and calzones were great according to others in my group. There is a lot of food. Like , a LOT. In fact, It's very typical Racine pizza in that it's very atypically delicious. Now maybe the cooks can't count or maybe they just don't think they should count when giving out product this good but the lady who took my order definitely told me I would get nine wings and I definitely wrapped my lips around 12 wings! Don't order from DeRangos hy 20 Jan 30. Hours delay, 18 people in lobby now. Everyone given inaccurate ready times. That's the real issue. Sure weather sucks, we all get that, no problem there, and we're glad you're open. Remeber, we're out in the weather too and just trying to get lunch. Least you can do is be honest and not waste an inordinate amount of our time. The times they quoted were 2 hrs off. Stay away..... update - to make matters worse we were given false information, they were outright lying to us. 20 minutes, 35 minutes, when confronted they admitted our pizzas weren't even made yet. I canceled my order, and while doing so called DeRangos at 3114 Washington and picked up the same pizza which was actually ready in 35 minutes. If they wouldn't have lied, it would have gone over much better. Never ordering from that location again. read more

A very sweet lady, Carrington, answered and was just so lovely to deal with. Upon arrival, Laura assisted me and was so down to earth and super personable. The gyro platter here is amazing. Generous portions and always tastes fresh and delicious. Service is okay, except for the monotone and lifeless girl that helped us last time. Today, we ordered the gyro platter and when we got home (20 mins away), we found that they didn't include the Tzatziki sauce. We called and their solution was to offer a $1.25 credit. IDK about you, but gyros without Tzatziki sauce 1) isn't a gyro 2) has no real flavor. I told them that this isn't acceptable and we'll just bring it back and get new ones with the sauce, they said their driver would drop off the sauce. They only gave us one sauce though and we normally get two as we ordered two gyros. I appreciate that they did this, but they really didn't have an understanding of the inconvenience this was and how it ruined our meal. A full meal credit would have kept us as a customer. Previously my review wasn't accurate, the reason the driver was so late was because of an accident and traffic, not even their fault. This is the only food place that delivers to my work (yes for a price, but worth it!). Great food, both pizza and hot bomber sandwiches are confirmed delicious and really huge sandwiches!
