8/7/2025 I am a long-term customer and I know DEPENDABLE DISPOSAL use to be a good company that provides a necessary community service. In the past month, my garbage was not picked up on Wednesday THREE TIMES and I had to make a call to get service each time. The last time I didn't check for a week and the trash was all still out there rotting away. Excuses were ... "the driver was new". "He didn't know he had to he had to get out of the truck" to accommodate my disabilities (per ADA law). Today, I called for the 3rd time and no more excuses were given... just a promise to send someone. It's not just the drivers, even their paper billing went out late. When I called to see if their July invoices went out, I was essentially told "soon". Perhaps the issue is bigger than the inability to hire "dependable" drivers. What irks me is as their prices sky rocket up, their service plummets. I was willing to pay more for good "DEPENDABLE" service, but the opposite is happening. I really hope they work out their issues because I'd like to remain a customer... but this weekly aggravation is untenable. read more

Horrible customer service . We agreed upon me paying on a certain date. They came and took my cans the day before that payment date and are charging me. Outrageous fees. They don't care about their customers. They took no responsibility for their end of a payment agreement . Then they blamed me for not paying on the agreed date after they took my cans . read more

We are enjoying a special offer for a year that makes it very affordable. So far service has been great and dependable. Our only incident was that they refused to take 1 large sheet of cardboard that I put out. The put a sticker on the piece saying it needed to be cut to a smaller size... that seemed silly to me since it was only 1 flat cardboard piece that would easily been thrown on the truck. We've had other people saying they do not really recycle things properly but I can not say I've seen any evidence for this conjecture. read more

Hard to get a response from them. I have called several times and there han't been any response from them.

If I could I would give them a zero. Consistently leave stuff as drivers to lazy to get out of truck. They damage our cans. They leave bins spread across driveway so you can't pull into your own driveway. The absolute worse company out there. Cancelling as soon as my quarterly payment runs out. read more

The company bought out coakley disposal. Never informed me by mail or phone call. After I made a call I paid coakley for the beginning of the year. Then I was to pay dependable. Never got a bill but then they send me a letter of cancellation. It said they would cancel me from 10 days from the date of the letter. I got the letter on the 10th day which was a Saturday. Needless to say I was upset. Left a message call me and send a bill. they never called me back. Over two weeks later no bill, no call and they took the bins. I signed up for service with Dependable at the end of March, since then, my trash has not been picked up a total of 6x. Each time I've had to call, and ask to have it picked up. Each time I've called, I've been guaranteed that it would never happen again, yet here we are. My pick up day is Thursday, and I always make sure my trash is out by Wednesday night. I have been calling and leaving voicemails since yesterday evening when I got home from my office. I haven't gotten a response this time around. I have a full toter, and two bags of trash inside my house. This is absolutely ridiculous, paying for a service yet not being sure if I will get what I paid for each week. The name of this company is "Dependable", yet I'm starting to believe that's a lie. Will someone please contact me? read more

This company bought out Coakley and is the worst company I've had to deal with in years. I didn't think a company with poor customer service existed anymore! Apparently, they think I'm paying them for the pleasure of picking up my garbage whenever they feel like it and now all my garbage including recyclables must be in plastic bags. Furthermore, they do NOT provide me with a toter or recycle bin. I don't advise using this company and will be changing. read more

It makes me really sad to see many of the other poor reviews because I could not be happier with our service. Perhaps it's because of where we live (Webster) and the people who pick up our trash, but they have been amazing! We switched to Dependable after Lilac raised their prices, switched to only picking up recycling every other week, and somehow accidentally cancelled our service on their own end when we hadn't wanted them to. Dependable not only picks up recycling every week and has a large recycling tote in addition to the large trash tote, but they are cheaper in price, are consistent with their time of pickup, and have picked up other trash for us that technically should have required a special pick up time. We had raked up a bunch of dead leaves and bagged them, leaving them at the curb with the rest of our trash. Technically, they can only pick up 3 extra bags a week with their normal routine so as to not overload the trucks, but the second week of being on the curb, they picked them all up without us having to request a special pickup! We have had nothing but positives to say about the company so far and are very pleased! Perhaps management or staffing has changed recently and they will be on the up and up? read more

Never had a problem in over 10 years. The problem I have is raising my bill without notice by $20.00 and then telling me it is a fuel surcharge (watch your Auto Payments). Get it together Dependable this is a poor business practice. Also, why do I have a can for recycling and a can for garbage when it all goes in the same truck compartment together mixed ? Used them for trash removal as there aren't many options in my area. Company does not screen truck drivers and/or regulate them to industry standards. Road rage, blaring their horns, tailgating and almost hitting several motorists should not be permissible for a company that relies on professional drivers to be the face of their business. Complaint was filed with FMCSA. read more

I just had the worst experience with this company they just randomly took their garbage cans from my driveway and said it was "too dangerous" to get my garbage... yes I live on a busier street BUT that shouldn't be an issue!!! They gave no notice no nothing!!! This was ridiculous and they just came after 1 week of having their service banging on my door to get their garbage cans back like what?!?! You put a flier in my mailbox saying you service my area!!! They are the WORST company I've EVER dealt with!!! read more

We moved into a new house and dependable was just the first place I called for service. I called yesterday because I'm switching to White Glove because they are cheaper and I've had several referrals to them. Ironically, this morning my mailbox is destroyed! Pushing directly back head on, open with my mail falling out. They moved my recycling bin to the opposite side (away from mailbox) of where it was originally placed. Very unDependable, unprofessional service. They won't pick up anything beyond their containers even though you tell them to bill you. You call and hear rude unprofessional customer service representative talking at you instead of listening and providing a solution for their customer ( you) As of recent they left behind the third toter I bought personally due to their rule that everything stays inside a toter only to have them not pick it up and to make matters worse they managed to drop busted glass not only on top of their toter but all over the front yard - nothing but careless period. Most all of this is due to they are pushing their employees to only use a grab arm to dump the containers from inside their trucks to save time on their routes and the hell with the customer or quaility of their work which I pay for. I switched a while ago to Casella to get away from this poorly managed company only to get thrown back to them when Casella swapped routes with them as teritory. I am now looking for a different solution. I hope this company leadership gets tossed on the street and out of business as they are the absolute worse read more

I wish I could give them negaive stars. The company that I had orignially was bought out and we got stuck with Dependible Disposal-- and I use the term dependable loosely. There were 3 or 4 instances where our garbage wasn't picked up even after assurances that it would be picked up. Nothing like having family over for holidays and our garbage is overflowing because they can't pull their head out of their rear. Just last week our garbage wasn't picked up because the company that they contracted with stopped service in the area where I live and didn't tell anyone. Hmmmm....sounds fishy. Yesterday I received a notice that effective immediately service is no longer available in my area. The notice was dated on 3/4. I now have a roll off toter full of garbage that apparently isn't getting picked up. What is wrong with you people??? read more

I have had nothing but headaches with this company since they bought out D&L disposal. I had a dumpster that they would pick up twice a month without any problems. They would back down the driveway to empty they dumpster then this past winter the driver said he couldn't fit the truck down the driveway after he drove all over the front yard so I was told that they were going to take the dumpster and replace it with 2 totes for the same price. Now they changed my days from Thursdays to Tuesdays and we have been making sure the totes are out front for them to pick up. Yesterday they didn't pick up the trash so I called and the person I talked to said they would be no later than today to pick up because the driver told them he picked up my totes then said my neighbors were putting trash in my totes because I had the totes in front of the other house we own, this is where the totes are at every week. Now all of a sudden its a new driver and he didn't know. Its not like the totes don't say Dependable on them. So now I have to wait until tomorrow for them to pick up my trash.. Every time I call because I have an issue all I get is excuses!! I can never talk to the manager because I hear no one is here to talk to you but then puts a person who is rude on & expects me sit here and just listen to the excuses. I would NOT recommend anyone to get this trash company not even as a last resort!!! read more

Customer service is really horrible. They are not "dependable" at all. I have done business with many different trash haulers and made the mistake of switching to Dependable because they were cheaper. My previous trash hauler provided excellent service and when I canceled they cared and tried to keep me as a customer. On the other hand, when I called Dependable to cancel service (due to their undependability), the "customer service" rep was very testy and told me I'd have to wait a week for them to pick up my trash cans and that I would not get a refund until after they had possession of my trash cans. She could care less that I was unhappy with the service and was glad to see me go. She told me I could pay $27 extra for them to come pick up my trash cans earlier than a week. So they get another week's pay from me as a reward for terrible service. Stay away from them - really not worth the small savings. read more

Dependabe Disposal filled the gap in our area when Feher went out of business without warning. They started pickup immediately and were very friendly, and actually stood the cans back upright as Amanda B noted. The new wheeled totes have arrived and I hope we have another positive experience. Our trash company went out of business May 2018 at the end of that month, I contacted another trash company to pick up our trash. This company called and said they would be picking up trash if I was interested to leave my trash out on Tuesday morning. I never did because I already had another trash company, however I did call them and left a message with Jessica who called about the pick, about the cost of their pickup. Never received a call back. All of a sudden I am receiving a bill from this company for picking up my trash in the amount of $80 roughly. I try calling again left another message, no one seems to like to answer the phone here. Asking them why I was receiving a bill and for someone to please call me back. Still no return call. 3 more months go by and another bill arrives in the amount of $155.00. Another call is made and still no return phone call. At this point I have had enough. I reported them to the BBB. Within a week I get a phone message from a Kim asking who I spoke to and that she apologized for the billing. She credited my account and she was going to let the BBB know and could I please let them know as well. Saturday morning I am going to take some trash out to my trash can and low and behold my trash receptacle is GONE!!!!!!. Now this trash receptacle belonged to the old company not Dependable. Not one time did this Kim person say they took over the old company's business. My question at this point also is how did you get my name . Did you buy the customer list from the old company. Any way, Kim so now what you have done not only billed for services you have never provided! But now you have trespassed onto my property and STOLE MY TRASH RECEPTICLE! YOU COMPANY REALLY SUCKS ASS! I wish I could give them zero stars. Some weeks they never made it to the house. We got a month behind on our payment and without notification they came by and dumped our trash out on our lawn and driveway. No warning. Seriously, no note, no phone call - just trash everywhere. I'm nauseated to think that they're still in business. read more

I live in Radisson, where the fees are very high. Dependable Disposal is anything but. They have a policy of not picking up trash unless it's in the bin. So, if you put a bag or small box next to the trash, because it doesn't fit after moving or cleaning, they will not pick it up. I called twice and left a message. No response. I do not recommend them and wish I could give them negative stars. At least if they would tell me if and when they will come back, I can plan, but they have no customer service! read more

Don't waste your time with them. So here's my nightmare of an experience with this "company". I originally contracted them to haul our trash on a weekly basis back in July of 2014. We moved to a new home and the town does not provide weekly trash pick-up, so Dependable was one of 5 or so companies that were licensed to perform trash removal by the town. After calling and setting up service it took them a month to show up with bins, and then another two weeks to pick up trash. I called on a weekly basis to let them know I was still waiting on bins. They seemed to not even know what was going on, because they assumed I already had them. The person answering was very rude and unprofessional. I was super frustrated already with their service, because I had paid for the quarter (they make you prepay in 3 month blocks) and one month was already gone. Moving on, I got the bins and they didn't show up for another two weeks to start their weekly pickup service. At this point I had enough. I called the company and explained to them that they hadn't picked up trash for more than a month and a half since I called to start service, and that it was ridiculous because I had already paid for the quarter. I was told that service would be by on the next pick up day, and that no partial refunds would be given (I hadn't even gotten to asking for a refund yet), because our house didn't have numbers on it and the guy couldn't find it to drop off the bins. Ridiculous. At this point I wanted to change companies and go with someone else, but I had a month and a half's worth of trash piling up in my back yard. It got so bad that I took the garbage to the dump myself. After service began, it went smoothly for about two months, then suddenly, service became spotty. They would pick up one week and not the next. It went on and off like this up until mid-February, when they decided to stop showing up all together. I called weekly, and I was promised they would be there next week. They never showed. This would go on until late April. I would call weekly complaining and being told they would be there next week but no one would show. Every time I called the person was very rude. I finally got to speak to a "manager" of some sorts who assured me it would be picked up... it wasn't. I was fed up. I told them that I wasn't going to pay for this last quarters fees since they decided they wouldn't pick up. Apparently, that made them upset enough to come by and dump the trash out of the trash bins and take the bins with them. So, I came home yesterday to a pile of trash sitting in my front lawn. I called them to verify it was them that took the bins. They denied it. Claiming that people are going around still trash bins and reselling them. Right, because I was born yesterday and I believe that for a second. I found out recently that the only other person in our neighborhood that still used them was having the same issues. The sheer incompetence of this company is amazing. It completely boggles my mind, that they won't hold up their end of the bargain. Even worse, they lie to you! This is one company that has their name TOTALLY wrong. Dependable is the last word I would use to describe this company. Spare yourself the headaches and frustration from having to deal with them, and find someone else for trash removal. I recommend Waste Management or Syracuse Haulers. read more

Very nice company to work with. Only garbage company I know of that doesn't toss your bins around. They actually leave them upright!!
