I really like this neighborhood liquor store which I can get to on foot from my house. This is no mega store alright and yet they do carry decent selection when it comes to wine and other alcohol. And most of all, the customer service is really good! I went there today (Jan 8, 2021) to get a cheap and yet quality red wine. While I was standing in front of a Mexican wine one of the workers who was assisting a different customer came by to show him some wine located nearby and quickly talked to me saying, "That's a really good Petite Syrah from Mexico!" When I was in a different section of wine 5 minutes later the same worker walked by and checked up on me again! Since I had never had a wine from Mexico (Baja California to be exact), I took the worker's suggestion by picking up the Mexican Petite Syrah as it was only $10. The checker at the register was also very pleasant/nice/courteous as he carried a friendly conversation with me. He was also very patient with me when I was clumsy with the credit card machine (ha ha!) There is always that one store that you like that's located very close to your house; for me this is definitely the one. I continue to support them as long as I continue to live in the neighboring. This liquor store is a galaxy of spirits, beer, wine, you name it and has the best staff around! I live in the Hampden Heights area and this store is only 2 miles from the house and is always stocked with anything you need. It's conveniently located off of Hamden & Yosemite with plenty of parking and several registers with a full staff so you rarely need to wait longer than a minute or two. The best part of shopping here is the rewards program they implemented about a year ago. You get 1 point for every dollar you spend and $100 = $5 off. I've also shopped at Total Wine many times and part of their rewards program but since becoming a rewards member with them over 5 years ago I have yet to get a discount. The pricing is cheaper than any stores in the areas and they also offer delivery! I was also pleasantly surprised to receive a direct mail piece a couple of weeks ago for 10% off my next purchase. Great job knowing who your target customers are! Also for figuring out how to keep those of us who like to escape to a far away galaxy with a few cocktails coming back for more! Decent selection but I can't abide by the "you break it you pay for it" signs everywhere 1- such signs are bull****. They would have to sue you and if they did no court is going to buy the unilateral contract 2- as long as you aren't negligent (I.e being really careless) a store isn't going to Get you to buy crap. 3- no court would make you pay MSRP at most you would owe the replacement cost from their supplier I don't know when they put up the signs but I didn't see them last time. We come here all the time and all the staff and manager knows us but today we came during a blizzard. Drove in the winter storm and the guy at the cashier(Erick) was extremely rude. Never have i ever experienced this at this liquor store. Everyone is friendly and helpful bit this Eric guy who looked like high schooler treated us like second class citizens. We come here all the time because it's close to our house and like coming here because of the different variety of alcohol. Everyone is nice and even recommends us new things to try. I will never set foot in this store after today's incident. They have went above and beyond helping me out several times -- always different employees. One several different times recommended craft beers, helped me pick out a super cute cherry moonshine for a going away gift, explained difference in whiskeys, and assisted me with wine selections. While Denver Liquor Galaxy doesn't carry the largest selection of higher-end wines, they make up for it in the liquor and spirits category. I was recently exposed to some great quality gin imported from the UK, and have found that Denver Liquor Galaxy is one of the only places in the state to carry it . Denver Liquor Galaxy also carries an expansive selection of vodka and tequila, as well as several fancy-looking liqueurs I have never heard of . Their scotch selection isn't as vast as it could be, but I was able to pick up a good bottle of Oban the last time I was in at a decent price. A big selection but not as expansive as you might expect for the business of offering beers in a craft brewing state. Too much dedicated to corporate beer. That said, I think there is enough variety to find something that like to drink. Huge selection of wines and spirits. I have been treated well whenever I come in and the staff that I have dealt with in the aisles seem both polite and helpful. Service is good and efficient. Close to my home so I do come in when in a hurry but I prefer another liquor store for the fact that I earn rewards. And as liquor Galaxy is raking it in based on the pricing, I will not be choosing this store regularly as they are higher priced than others offering similar selection and quality of service. read more

DLG has a tremendous selection with several unique brands. The customer service is terrific. The store is laid out really nicely and things are easy to find. I love how clean this place is. Why are so many liquor stores so filthy and decrepit? DLG is a welcome relief in that regard. The only negative is that DLG is honestly $4 - $10 more expensive than several other comparable sized liquor stores. I was honestly shocked by the price of some items when I literally saw it for $10+ less in another liquor store earlier the same afternoon. Strange location but has always been safe during my visits. This place has a great selection. Not the craziest of beer selections but it's good. The wine and liquor selections are awesome. Having an amazing selection of liquor, wine, and beer is great (which they do), but they real reason for this rating is the customer service. It's a great feeling when you walk in and see the entire staff smiling and laughing and then are so quick to greet you and ask if you need help. The gentleman who assisted me (bald with a goatee, good sense of humor, and strong vocabulary) was very nice and knew exactly where my items are. I'm sure the rest of the staff is just as pleasant. I have lived in this area quite a while and have noticed since the opening of Denver Liquor Galaxy, the quality of the shoppette has gone waaay down. Outside: The parking lot in front of the liquor store and throughout the lot (even the back and side of the shoppette) is strewn with empty and/or broken liquor bottles. Not to mention the cigarette butts and other sidewalk scum (gum, spit, etc,,,) in front of the door. Certain times of the day, there are what appears to be 'regulars' hanging around the door. I have witnessed a customer (I guess in his haste to get in the store) hit another car or the concrete blocks as he was trying to pull into a slot in front of the door. When he got out of the car, 'Pops' looked like he had had a few (I wondered later if they sold him liquor). Inside: I have been in this store 3 times. I was last in over a year ago (this was the last time). I asked specific questions about an ingredient in a product. I was assured the ingredient I was questioning was not in the product. WRONG. This misinformation lead to a migraine headache. Not too worry, once I bought the information I was given to the manufacturer, they issued a sincere apology and refund. On one occasion a young man working the cash register thought he would make a joke about my change due. I found this to be very unprofessional. Overall: Inside changes may have been made -management, 'grown-up' cashiers (I will never know). I do know when I choose to build the shoppette into my daily walk, I am disgusted by the filth on the parking lot. read more

My fiance and I went in here for the first time today. And he was very much impressed with the selection of various liquors and wine. He wanted to try the Wicked Hard and so we decided to give this place a try. He found it, plus his other most favorite vodka Hangar 1 as well as 360 Vodka. He was very very impressed. He would give it 4 stars for not having a make your own 6 pack, but hey they are working on it. So it stays at 5 stars :). Even though I don't drink, I can see myself coming here if we have a party and need something or if we need a refill of the mini fridge, which honestly is a very very rare occurrence fyi. The sales people are very friendly and willing to talk with you and inform you of discounts located on the back of both King Soopers and Safeway receipts. Highly recommended. read more
