I am so glad I found Dr. Janak Tull. I went to him to fix the work my previous dentist had done; which I was very insecure about, and having problems with. He listened to my concerns and was very thorough explaining and answering questions. I've always been anxious about dentists but Dr.Tull was so gentle and took his time. Following up on my previous recommendation. I've been a patient of a handful of dentists in Princeton over the 45 years I've lived here. No complaints about the others worth mentioning. I've been a patient of Dr. Janak Tull for over a year now, and he is the best. He's very smart and very motivated/caring to do everything in his power to improve and maintain my dental health. Because he's on the young side I think; he's up on all the latest dental technology and best practices. Highly confident that you'll find a warm office with access to the most technically knowledgeable and skillful dentist in Princeton. It costs more money, because they have a private pay model. I think that's the only choice. But 100% worth it, despite the fact that I am not a rich man. If you want superb dental hygiene, you are missing out if you don't try them out. Doctor said the consultation was free but charged $150 at the end by literally trapping us. Doctor Yelp page states "30% off on invisalign" but claimed that I am not eligible for that which is very misleading and dishonest as she said "it also states that some people may not be eligible" which it evidently does not. Doctor said her charges range from $4,000-6,000 to get us to come in but said the total would amount to be $10,000 once we were there. Doctor said my treatment would last for 4 years while other orthodontists have said 2 years would be the maximum. Clearly she is saying 4 years to make more money. The doctor wanted a lot of money for a cat scan which would decide whether I am even eligible for her treatment and did not know anything about how to handle my condition nor was she certain about the timetable or effectiveness of anything. Covid protocols are overboard, it's a struggle to even get in the office. Completely unethical and dishonest business practice, the doctor lied about a 30% discount, free consultation, and cheap procedure in order to get me into her office. Do not be fooled by the good reviews which are given to the doctor by her staff and family most likely, it is a scam through and through. Do not fall for any of the traps they tell you to get you in the office. read more

I've been a patient for a few years, and today was awesome. I'm one of those who needs 8+ Novocain shots--trust me, I've spent hours after each little shot, wait 15 min, start, OUCH. Repeat. Dr. Tull knows me. I received a prescription for anxiety beforehand. I was on the chair for 4 hours today--so yes, there was much to be done between replacing the last of my silver fillings, getting a crown, fixing a chipped tooth. Then getting a cleaning & checkup for my spouse, 19m old, and 3.75y old. It was a LONG day. This was the easiest session ever. I was relaxed, the new mouth opener+suction thing is awesome because you aren't doing your best to keep your mouth open while there are multiple fingers, tubes, and machines in your jaw while you're freaking out. My teeth are good & Lekha & her staff are awesome. Cheap? No. She isn't on an insurance network, but will bill your insurance company as out of network. Wageworks is accepted. If you need to pay out of pocket, she will work with you on a payment plan. Plus, she's nice. Her staff has been with her during all of my visits over the past 4 years--low turnover is a good sign. My kids were either on unusually good behaviour, or they all kept them relaxed. For first check ups. There are also toys in the waiting room. She has all of the new gadgets , so if you really need a crown, guess what--it can be done in a single visit. I have a video of the machine making the first crown I had her replace. As a perfectionist, the first wasn't perfect, she redid it. That same day. No waiting a week or more, returning, then having a crappy one that has to be re-cemented regularly. So, I'm a really anal dental patient. I like an office with a relaxing ambiance, good magazines, super-friendly staff, and most importantly: an equally anal dentist. After seeing Dr. Tull & her staff, I wouldn't see anyone else! First of all, Dr. Tull's office is housed in a bright purple building - which is awesome. Second of all, her staff are some of the nicest people I've ever met - they all knew my boyfriend's name after the first visit and continue to tease me about him. They are very nice & gentle with their cleaning technique, too. Love them!! Third, the office is a really neat space - each cleaning area is color-coded and decorated tastefully with pictures of Dr. Tull's children (aww!) and cool artifacts of their family's world travels. Fourth, Dr. Tull is razor-sharp and an excellent dentist. She understands the ridiculousness that is American private insurance and works with you to devise the best solution that also will ensure maximum insurance coverage. She's also proactive in her care, which is something you really want in a dentist. For years I had these stains on my back teeth which I'd asked previous dentists about and had been told that they were minor "problems" my insurance wouldn't cover till they became cavities. Great. Well, Dr. Tull wouldn't stand for that, so she took digital photos of the "problems" and sent them directly to my insurance company! She got them to approve treatment, and she took care of everything. Amazing. If you're looking for a dentist, definitely call Dr. Tull. Especially if you're anal about your teeth :) read more

Dr. Tull and her staff were thorough and knowledgeable, and made sure that I was taken care of. I felt comfortable that she was more concerned with my dental health than her compensation, and even made sure that my plan wouldn't leave me with hefty bills before she jumped into any procedure. When I needed a night guard (for grinding teeth), and the first one was uncomfortable, she didn't charge me for making two more until we found one that worked. She even asked that I e-mail her to let her know how I was doing with it. The biggest thing that impressed me was that Purity, an assistant, recognized me at the grocery and asked how my guard was working out. When I told her that I hadn't come in for my fitting yet, she made sure to call me the next afternoon from the office to schedule an appointment. After having been to several dentists, each with varying approaches, I've found Dr. Tull to be one that I can trust. read more

I contacted Dr. Tull's office regarding getting a custom made oral appliance for sleep apnea. Yvonne the person I spoke to was extremely helpful and explained what was involved. She gave me the procedure codes and names for the procedures. She even called Medicare on my behalf since Medicare would not give me the estimated allowed amount for the appliance itself. She went out of her way to help me. She is a real asset to Dr. Tull's office. I also contacted Dr. Tull regarding the cost of everything. She promptly answered my e-mail and explained how she worked with Medicare. She offered to work with my insurance. read more

Like the other reviewers, I am a very picky patient. I like a dentist who is patient, careful, painless, and confident. Also one that is reasonable in fees(I've had one dentist say I need to pay 5k to have my teeth fixed.) There is ample parking and very fast at squeezing you in, if you need emergency dental care. I'm thrilled with my new crown and want to recommend Lekha Tull to everyone. Yesterday morning, in less than 3 hours the whole job was done. She is so cheerful and encouraging that whatever discomfort there may be seems like nothing. She explained everything as we went along because I wanted to know every step of the way - from the initial pictures to the final making of the crown and installing it - way in the back of my mouth. When I wanted to rest she gave me earplugs for music. She has the latest genius machines to do the job. It's all computerized but you have to put in correct information. I've been a patient of Dr. Lekha Tull's for probably 20 years, and although I have to travel from Manhattan to Princeton to go to her office, it's always worth it. She's extremely thorough, careful, and knowledgeable, and even if I'm satisfied with something she's done (which I always am), if it's not perfect, she insists on doing it over until it is, of course at no extra cost. Her fees are reasonable, she and her staff are delightful, and while I can't really say it's always a pleasure going to the dentist, I always go with complete confidence, knowing that whatever has to be done, will be done perfectly and with professionalism, and I'll have no trouble with it afterwards. read more

I had an inflammation in my gum around one of the lower wisdom teeths (yea, I have all four). Dr. Tull agreed to see me on a very short notice (less than an hour). The staff are nice, place is bright and neat. After a thorough examination, she performed a laser excision of my gum to create room for my wisdom tooth instead of extraction (thank God!). She made sure I understood the problem with my gum, the procedure she was about to perform and the expected results. Price was fair compared to my former dentist. My teeth and gum feel better, and am happy to make her my regular dentist. She and all the staff are cheerful and you can see they are passionate about the work. I totally recommend them. read more

I have been going to Dr Tull since 1986. She is the most conscientious dentist I know. She is a perfectionist and will err on the side of caution when she recommends a procedure. I've never had a dentist that I felt anything more than apathy towards until I went to Dr. Tull. I came in with what I thought was a cracked filling, but it turned out I had a major infection and needed a root canal on the spot. Dr. Tull was extremely caring and at one point when I started to feel a panic attack coming on, she had her assistant go get her own iPod out of her purse so I could listen to some soothing music. Because the infection and root canal process ended up taking almost two weeks to deal with, she gave me her personal cell phone number to call if I had any problems. Like another poster, I ran into one of her staff members, Eva, on her lunch break and she told me she had been worried about me because she knew I was in so much pain. Her office has state of the art equipment and she kept me totally informed every step of the way and could show me everything on 3D imaging. They can do a crown in only one visit and she is very much a perfectionist in her work. Her assistant, Purity, is so kind and gentle and a pleasure to see. They worked hard to get me in quickly when the pain was really bad, so I never even had to wait until the next day to see her. Her services are very expensive if you don't have insurance, so definitely inquire about prices when booking an appointment. Unfortunately, I don't live in the area, so I can't continue using her, but if I did live in Princeton, she'd definitely be my dentist regardless of the cost. read more

I was a patient 2 years ago. Overcharges. In retrospect, should have been suspicious when it was their office policy to require full payment at the time of service and a promise to submit a claim on your behalf...I cannot recall ever receiving reimbursement from my insurance. Kept pushing for services that seemed unnecessary. Surprised me by insisting on replacing an old filling that had never given me trouble on a visit that I thought was just a cleaning...now I occasionally feel sensitivity there and I fear that needs to get fixed. Also kept pushing for me to get custom molded for a night guard that was ridiculously expensive. The last straw was when they ended up submitting a claim to my insurance for that mouth guard without actually performing any work (later claimed it was a mistake and they were just doing it to get me an estimate). I'm not a dentist, so I can't write a thorough review, but what I know is this: I had been told that I am predisposed to have problems with my teeth (I guess it's genetic), and I was almost expecting Dr. Tull to find problems that need to be fixed at every checkup. And she did for a while. However, for years now, I have only had to make one appointment at every scheduled cleaning and checkup: for the next scheduled cleaning and checkup. Since I'm clueless about dentistry, and even though every visit is as pleasant as it can get, that is my most important criteria: the less I have to go to the dentist, the better. So she had done lots of work on my teeth and everything went as smoothly as possible. One might think: yes, I am originally from Eastern Europe, so how bad would she have to be for me to complain about it! I think Dr. Tull and her assistant are both excellent. However, on my last visit to this office, another dentist treated a couple cavities and I left the office with bleeding gums. Well, the gums ended up being quite damaged and there's a large piece of gum tissue missing on one of my molars. I was not very thrilled, especially after paying over $1000 for the visit. The office definitely seem to be charging more than comparable dentists, which might be worth it if you get Dr. Tull to treat you, but I definitely won't be coming back after my last experience. read more

I was going to a really great dentist for over 20 years. I really liked him, his staff, and never had a bad experience in those 20 years, even with all the work I had done, major bridgework, etc.. When he retired I was really upset, didn't think I could ever find someone as professional and caring until a friend recommended Dr Tull. My experience with her and her staff has been phenomenal. My husband and I have been going to Dr. Tull for over thirty years. Dr.Tull is a pleasure to visit. I like the cheerful staff and bright purple building. Recently I had to have six of my front teeth crowned and was a little worried my teeth would look like big chiclets. I worried in vain. My teeth have all the idiosyncrasies they had before.
