No once did they return my phone calls. If they are in the business to provide staffing, they need…read moreto fill their own operations to return calls! The irony, an understaffed staffing company.

I thought long and hard about whether I wanted to leave a review or what I might say in a review…read more So, just know that it is with a heavy heart that I feel compelled, despite my instinct, to get my story out there. I was offered a job earlier this year directly from the principal. I was uncertain about the role but was deeply inspired by its prospects. Sensing my uncertainty, the principal invited me to speak with her recruiter, David, at Palo Alto Staffing. I spoke with David for several hours across several phone meetings. By all accounts, things were going smoothly. That was until I got a call from the very principal who offered me the job telling me that she was uncertain about moving forward. When I asked why, she told me that David told her I would be a liability and that I was unqualified for the role. Now, keep in mind, at this juncture David had articulated to me on more than one occasion that "there was no doubt in his mind that I could do the job." So, you can imagine my surprise when I learned he articulated the exact opposite story to the company. Moreover, I asked David as candidly as I could whether he was supporting and endorsing me for the role, to which he responded, unequivocally, "yes." Adding insult to injury, David expressed to the principal that he administered a test to me and that I failed that test. That is wholly untrue. Instead, David asked me one question over the phone regarding concerns relating to booking travel, and -frankly- my answer was far more sophisticated than his own. Somehow, David felt emboldened to translate that unstructured and cursory dialogue into a "test," that apparently I failed. The principal then told me that David put himself up for the job! Let me say that one more time so it sinks in. David, the recruiter, in the same email in which he disparages my professionalism and undermines my qualifications, submits himself for the role. Nevermind the obvious conflict of interest here, but if allegations of professionalism were my shortcoming, I can think of nothing more unprofessional than to overtly and explicitly betray the trust of the principal by simultaneously minimizing a candidate and then offering your own services in lieu of the candidate. In my final discussion with David, he instructed me to send the principal an email highlighting my enthusiasm for the role, and we planned for him to follow-up on that thread with his endorsement and a plan on next steps. Again, you can imagine my surprise when I sent the email he directed me to send, and David never responded. Curious, I sent him a text message and reminded him that I had sent the email. Still, no response. Instead, David decides to contravene everything he told me on the phone. It is worth noting there was one other individual in the discussion process who was an outside service provider for the principal. I called that person to ask what her and David discussed following our conversations that so dramatically altered the outcome. She told me she was, by all accounts, enthusiastic about me coming aboard. I was, yet again, shocked to discover that David never actually coordinated with this stakeholder, as he claimed he would. In other words, it never occurred to David that before he comes to the conclusion that I would be a liability to the principal, to check in with the one other person in the interview process. If that was insufficient for a review, let me add a few more notes. David insulted the principal to me! He criticized the size of her SFO. In the interest of placating him, I echoed his concerns, but I found it wholly inappropriate that he was insulting my putative boss. It was conveyed to me by a person whose privacy I would like to maintain that David may have intentionally torpedoed my candidacy for this role because I was sourced directly from the principal, perhaps calling into question whether he would be compensated on the hire. I cannot say if this is true or not, but at this juncture, it would not surprise me. I view David as a feckless sycophant, eagerly attaching himself to large-net-worth individuals and siphoning whatever value he can. I have a law degree with a certificate in corporate law. I worked at two startups leading up to their IPO. I have worked on dozens of multimillion-dollar deals. I served as Volunteer Assistant District Attorney for the Resentencing Task Force under DA Chesa Boudin. I have litigated on behalf of immigrant families who were taken advantage of. I raised 15k for the Alzheimer's Association last month. I was the former Head of Legal and Compliance at Planned Parenthood Northern California. I hold degrees in philosophy, business and psychology. I am certified in PostgreSQL. In short, you can believe what I am saying.

Do you like working with professionals with personality and heart? Do you need to trust…read moreprofessionals with your career? If so, do not move along. You have found them. I first submitted a profile which was very easy to do. They do a good job cutting the barriers to employment. Within a day, I was contacted by Julia B. We set up an initial interview to just get to know me. We had such a pleasant conversation. Despite the current Pandemic Crisis we are in, we were able to discuss our thoughts on the situation because it is unavoidable, then we proceeded to the interview. It was smooth, she was clearly an eloquent communicator and very passionate about her job. She informed me next steps and we were done in our allotted 15 minute time frame. Julia continued to be responsive. She provided me two emails. Just two. One to set up the interview with the recruiter with tips included (bonus) and one to confirm my interview. The day of, she reminded me of the interview via 1 text. Then there was Grace S. The interview was scheduled for 30 minutes. Get two HR Professionals in a room that truly understand service for others and what the HR profession is about and you will quickly notice 30 minutes is not a lot of time. Grace is the recruiter you want by your side. She takes the time to know you by listening to you, actively, and she takes an interest in what makes you, you. That is exactly what a recruiter needs to do. One that can present you completely. Not just by resume, but really "go to bat for you." You instantly feel safe and trust when you speak with her. She is honest and she is open. In times of where we really need to earn people's trust, Grace goes the extra mile to earn it. I thoroughly enjoyed our conversation and her blunt honesty. As an 15+ year HR professional, this was pleasant experience and a great choice for me. Julia and Grace are great representations of "PREMIER TALENT PARTNERS" and I look forward to building long lasting professional relationships with them and their colleagues. Many of us are being adversely affected by the crisis. In these times, turn to people who will take it upon themselves to ensure your success. They truly care and they truly want the best for you, at least that is how I felt. Remember they are humans too, I brought positivity to the table and got a great result. Come in with a good attitude and you will see, they will provide great service. They are professionals through and through. Don't wait any longer, choose the best, choose Premier!

I can't get enough of PTP!…read more Close to two years ago I nearly solidified my decade long tenure at Alameda county working as an EA with CIOs and CTOs as long as I can remember. I wanted a job sector change and venture out what's out there. I tried many opportunities with two other hiring firms but both have been discriminating against my previous experience. This one other particular firm interviewed me and told me my EA background in government is laughable. After many years of public engagement, being trusted by my executives, actually thinking I was a bigger part of something in my career, I had one other hiring agency told me I wasn't worth it. It hurt so much. It wasn't until my friend told me about PTP. I was already traumatize with hiring agencies I wanted to bypass PTP altogether. So flashback to 1.5 years ago. I placed in an application through LinkedIn and was immediately contacted by Sue, Jackie, and Rebecca. I went to interview at their Palo Alto location (an actual chic office and not some shanty bedroom/house converted office) and immediately wanted to get to know me. Rebecca sat down with me and listened to my needs. Why I was searching. Why want venture capital? Why go after start ups? What was your culture like in government sector? I couldn't believe my eyes. Rebecca was acting like that one friend who always wants updates on you. It didn't feel like an interview, it felt like you were sitting down at brunch and talking casually with Rebecca and giggling, just enjoying atmosphere and talking about career. I left their office in good graces. Sure enough, they had 2 JDs for EA and EA/OM after two weeks. I got a job at a VC firm! Ladies and gentlemen, top recruiting is not about making money. These recruiters know that you are already a good fit at the start, they will help you mold into it. Other hiring agencies could benefit from this tip. Thank you so much Premier Talent Partners! I would 100% recommend!

So now I will share my end. I was applying for a job on Indeed and failed to recognize that the position I applied for requires job experience. Normally I would have to quit the interview but it was too late. Now for Robert Half's side. I was interviewing with this jerk who did a good job of giving me interview and resume tips but later on he ended up berating my mental health. WHAT KIND OF SERVICE IS THIS. YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO OFFER PEOPLE JOBS IN WHAT THEY ENJOY DOING NOT MAKE THEIR MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES WORSE. It really upsets me that Robert Half legal decides to be mean to me. It makes me kind of mad that Robert Half Legal doesn't know how to hire their own people. Cmon, if you want to hire good people don't be in in for the money. If you want to hire good people, hire me to run your HR. I don't respond to idiots. Now they want me to complete a lame assessment. I got no time for those because I am in therapy.

UPDATE: Since this review was written, I was pleasantly surprised to hear from Corporate about it…read more An attorney contacted me confirming, yes, I absolutely was to be paid and he would not just have a word with the Seattle office, but also the jerk who kept rejecting my time card. It's not legal. Any layperson knows this. I happen to work in compliance (and have for some time) so I also know the SOX legalities. He was extremely concerned that not only the RH supervisor didn't follow up and follow through, but also the client had a temper tantrum about it and bullied me into amending my time card, causing such financial distress in my bank accounts. I've forwarded my documents to the corporate legal department and I am promised they will make it right. I did tell my attorney this and he was absolutely blown away, saying, "this is the best scenario of social media I've ever heard of..." If this all clears up, then it's true - large corporations do actually read these reviews. Granted this could have gotten someone into a lot of trouble, but nonetheless, someone responded. And it never, ever should have come to this. Once it's resolved, I will update again. I've worked for this staffing agency twice: once while in California -TERRIBLE experience.. Rancho Mirage area. That staff is awful. Then I moved to Seattle where I started to work for the Seattle office. I'm using this address because it's listed as their corporate. Anyway, I was set up in Redmond, and worked over 40 hours a week. All approved and paid. When the approver was changed, he decided he didn't want to approve over 40 hours, so he started to reject the time cards. This was AFTER I'd worked the OT. This went back and forth for a few weeks, which ultimately ended with him bullying me into CHANGING my time card of previous weeks - 2 already worked - to 40 hours, when I'd worked over 60, or he wouldn't approve. He literally told me, "I will not approve your time card until you change them to 40 hours each week". I wasn't ok changing my time card from over 60 hours to 40 because that's fraud - a SOX violation - which inevitably rolls up to the SEC. That and I already worked the time. I deserve to be paid... I spoke with my RH supervisor, and she told me RH would "eat the hours" and pay me so long as I "altered" my time card to reflect the 40, so he would approve the hours. Because of this, he didn't approve for over 2 weeks, which caused a 3 week delay in my pay and my bills to go unpaid and, because of budgeting and auto payments, checking account to go negative. I was freaking out, emailing about NSF charges, returned payments from my finance companies and who would pay them while she was bugging this guy to approve my time cards. I had to get paid, and it had now been 2 weeks, so I folded and changed my time card to 40 hours with the promise that I'd be made whole with the OT by RH separately. My checks finally came through; 3 in 1 week, after the jerk finally approved them. Anyway, for months, I was still waiting for the OT hours to come through. I eventually left the contract because of personal reasons and the fact that I HATED this guy (clearly, he was a jerk) and months still went by without my OT. I kept reaching out to my RH supervisor and never got a response. She finally responded, "you've been paid". With all my documentation of proof of work, emails between us regarding my OT and our conversations with her asking me, "have you altered your time card to reflect 40 hours?" she STILL thinks "I've been paid"... apparently these people think it's legal to allow people to work OT and NOT pay them... Well, yes, I HAVE been paid for the 40 hours I worked. It's the TIME AND A HALF I did NOT get paid for... Be VERY aware when you step into any agreement working with this company. They are SHADY. My 2 experiences with them have been lack luster at best. And now, with the help of my attorney, I've filed an L&I claim against them because its against the law to not pay an employee for work. Period. If you DO work for them? KEEP EVERYTHING. SAVE EVERYTHING. I'd even go so far as to suggest RECORDING everything. Don't trust them. They tell EVERYONE, "we're so happy to have you on our team..." It's all a part of their schmooze. They're not going to pay you in the end... If you're looking for an agency, whether temp or permanent, I'd go with someone more reputable and not a mill like Robert Half.

For a year they basically did everything, and anything but take care of the books. I got charged for every single phone conversation or email I had with their lead associate (shark) Ron Cohen, and for their list of literally 5-8 incompetent assistants, which weren't even doing monthly profit and loss or managing Quickbooks. When it was time to do taxes a year later they told me my books weren't in order and then charged me an absolutely outrageous amount of money to organize the books and file the company returns. They then proceeded to tell me book keeping wasn't part of our agreement of services after charging me upwards of $500 dollars a month for an entire year. Pretty questionable and irresponsible business ethics if you ask me. Last time I checked accountants and accounting firms are there to manage the books... The icing on the cake, was when I found out what I owed the government in 2010, because it was too late to mitigate any of the taxes because no extension was filed or even discussed with us. Goodbye IRA money! Goodbye charitable contributions! Two years later (2011), I'm facing a potential IRS audit for the lousy work they did, and have been told by multiple professionals in the field that the returns were not categorized properly and are questionable at best. There are tons of great firms in the bay area, don't hire GROCO. This company will do nothing but charge outrageous prices and insert grief into your life.

I was laid off for the first time in the summer of 2010 and Courtney made the scary process of finding a new position quick, seamless and even comforting! She was able to find me an assignment within a few days and placed me at a local client on a five-month temp assignment. Once that assignment ended, she re-assigned me to another client, which was an equally amazing experience. I actually learned the basics of HR (my now career field) working on the second assignment she placed me at. When I was available again, I asked her for something in the HR field and she offered me a game-changing opportunity - the chance to work for her as the first full-time, dedicated recruiter for Menlo Partners Staffing, her own firm. She mentored and trained me from the ground up and is the reason I am the staffing professional that I am today. For her, I am forever grateful and will always appreciate the professional experience and wisdom she shared with me. She is an expert in the staffing industry and you are no doubt in good hands with her as a client company or candidate she's representing. She will fight for you and make sure it's the best possible fit on both sides of the desk. In the beginning I would ask her, "how do you know this person will work in that position?" and she would reply, "I just know, I can feel it in my gut." Little did I know those gut feelings came with 20+ years of experience in the staffing business and can't be taught overnight, but I always remember joking with her about that! I like to think because of her mentoring over the years, I have that "gut" feeling too. Courtney is one of a kind and it is nice to know there are people like her left in the sometimes cut-throat staffing business. She is a lifetime friend and someone I will always look up to on a professional note. Call Menlo Partners Staffing today!
