There are no amenities here. Not even a shower house. There's a port a potty for the whole campground. It's like a giant parking lot with spots on top of each other. We took one look and booked the KOA in Buckley. There's no cancellation policy on the website but forfeiting our fees were worth it to have a place we could do things at our campsite. The best thing I can say is that we called ahead and asked if we could have an Amazon delivery. Our camper fridge died at our previous site so we had a plug in cooler sent to this campground and they didn't mind. Stay here if you need a spot to sleep and don't care about having amenities.

Here are my pros and cons: The Good: - Quiet: Being that it's newly reopened (formerly known as Secord Lake Campground), and that Secord Lake is a shell of what it used to be because of the dam breaks (as we later discovered), of the 52 sites available, we were 1 of 3 campers on the premesis on a WEEKEND! It was so great to actually hear the sounds of nature. - Spacious: Adding on to the above, if you like being able to spread out and not camp on top of other people, until this place grows over the years to come, you can bet on having at LEAST several spaces between you and other campers. - Pet-Friendly: Dogs are welcome! It's hard to find a campground that dogs are allowed, and with it being so quiet, it's pretty nice for dogs who tend to bark at passersby. - Amenities: Bathhouses are spacious and clean, there's a play set for kids, horseshoes to rent and play with, and cute camp store stocked with the essentials AND ice cream, and a dump station on site. The Bad: - The website is more than a little misleading. Though these things are all advertised as if they are on-site, there are no absolutely lake views from any of sites (ironic, considering the name), walking trails, fishing, boat rentals, etc. whatsoever. We specifically came to this campground to be able to go fishing, but not only is there no fishing spots at the campground, there os actually no public fishing spots on Secord Lake AT ALL (the few spots are now dried up from the dam break). Considering that fishing is listed as a campground amenity and included in the Lakeview Campground logo, we had every reason to think this was the place to go to try out our new gear. We were very wrong, and very disappointed. I will say, there are plenty of trail heads and ORV trails within 10 miles of the campground to go enjoy. If you're willing and able to rent a boat, there are spots on the Lake that do have fish biting, but they are only accessible by boat. The marina across the road had no day rentals. With all of that said, if you just want a quiet place to get away, let your kids run and play, and enjoy the sounds of nature with last-minute availability, definitely give this place a shot. The owner is really attentive and goes above and beyond. We ended up really enjoying our stay, even though it was nothing like we'd expected.

Well it's not a 5 min walk. It's a 5 mile walk. So canceled the day of and the other 3 days I had, the young worker said oh you'll be able to get a refund and pay a small cancellation fee. So I cancelled. Well the manager calls me this morning saying oh there's nothing they can do because you canceled the day of and won't get any of the refund back. His only excuse is they must've been new to the job. Why wouldn't you teach them about the cancelation policy if they work at the front desk and deal with reservations? The manager didn't try to work with me due to poor employee communication. If this is how they have to make money to stay afloat, then that's horrible business. They should change the name, extremely miss leading when they aren't even on the lake.

We ended up getting a deluxe cabin which says it can sleep 6 but the includes a double bed, 2 twin bunk beds in a very tiny room and the couch which is a futon. We only had 2 people so we had plenty of room. There is a toilet and a nice shower in the bathroom. The living room area has a tv, a table with bar chairs for 4, a microwave, refrigerator, kitchen sink and lots of cabinets to put your stuff in. You need to remember to bring your own sheets, towels, pillows and bedding. Also remember paper towel and toilet paper. Even though the Park was filled - it was surprisingly quiet. It's about 5 miles from Higgins Lake State Park which requires a recreation pass, but is very nice and has a paved bike trail and a public beach.

We called the front office to let them know we wouldn't be checking in till 7pm. We took care of payment over the phone a d they left a map on their front bulletin board for us to follow to our spot. We were on site 61. The first thing I noticed is how stunning the Surrounding scenery is! The trees are beautiful in a October. The sites themselves are spread out. You don't feel like you're on top of each other. Every morning it felt so much earlier than it was...This place is super quiet! Maybe it would be different in the summer but fall is definitely peaceful. Everyone was super friendly. We were out most of the day and didn't hang at the campground much which leads me into my next point... there isn't much to do here (not a bad thing!). I'm so happy this trip was just for my husband and I because my kids would be bored to death. There is no pool (was too cold to use it even if there was) and no park. I am totally ok with these things but it would be great to know if we did bring the littles. However, this campground is near everything! All in all, we paid around $300 (five or take) for our trip here. Definitely worth it and we can't wait to come back!
