I truly could not recommend them less. If you are seeing positive reviews know that they are a fluke. There are claims with the Better Business Bureau and I am still dealing with billing issues from 2023. I called before I went and made sure they took my insurance. I went in for a consult and never ended up going back, so no actual work was done on my teeth. A full year later, just after the time to resubmit to insurance closed, I got a bill for almost $300. They will call your phone night and day endlessly until you pay. So I did. Now in 2025 they apparently need $25 more because that part of the original did not go through. While staff were kind to me in person that does not even begin to outweigh the literally years long headache this has been to, again, get literally nothing done to my teeth. read more

This place was supposed to be open on fri of this wk. As hrs stated, they were supposed to have her stuff for my wife. But never called she goes to office pitch black. Doors locked shut. No employees there or answered phones for 2 days.We payed good money for the work and hardware, where is her stuff. No phone call to let us know anything or if they were on a vacation. I would hope not why close and not have someone in there or at least have someone answering phones shit. That wrong rude and not good customer service. And this com needs a corporate number. PRO TIP: DO NOT GIVE ANYONE YOUR SS# The star is awarded to the Dental Staff. They were very professional and polite. The four stars are removed for the lack of respect and follow through provided by the front office. The front office culture at this location may in fact be the worst in Charlotte. I specifically asked verbally and in writing to review the costs of my visit prior to performing my scheduled cleaning. The front staff repeatedly stated that the visit was no charge. Weeks later, I received a $50 invoice for the panorama. When I received the bill, I called to inquire about the fee. I was told that the bill was what the insurance did not pay and the price I as quoted was an estimate. I referred them back to the written statement that I provided stating I agree to pay for any service I reviewed the billing with them PRIOR to receiving the service. I came in for a cleaning. I did not request the panoramic, we did not review the cost of the panoramic prior to providing service and as a result I refuse to pay for the panoramic. My primary concern entering this practice was the cost of service I would be asked to pay. Similar to a patient who is allergic to penicillin or a patient whose back tooth is in severe pain. COST is my primary concern. I expressed this verbally and in writing at my visit. The front office ignored my primary concern. When I call to rectify the situation, I'm given the run around and eventually hung up on. Today, I spoke to 3 individuals in scheduling and preparing for my 8am appointment. Not a mention of the back balance. I was asked to phone from the parking lot to check in. From the parking lot, I am asked for my SS# again (to which I refuse) I am also asked to pay for services up front. I ask how much the services are. I get the rude version of HOLD, like they are doing me a favor. I am quoted a price that includes the back fee. I responded that I refuse to pay the back fee, since I was not afforded a similar conversation during my first visit. At this point, I was hung up on. Avoid at ALL COST!! I didn't have any problems with any of my teeth until I started coming here. Since I have been here I've seen 3 different dentists due to them up and leaving. Dentists there act like they are still in dental school practicing and don't know what to do. I now need two root canals and two crown lengthening because they kept having to go back in and fix things that they messed up, which has also led to my teeth becoming so beaten up that they may need to be pulled if the root canals can't be performed!! My journey with DentalWorks started at Carmel Village. I was greeted by everyone so warmly, from the front desk, hygienist and Dr Melanie Hinte. I was nervous about having some dental work done. Dr Hinte and the entire staff made me feel completely comforted by such grace and compassion they shared with me. By the time I left, i felt like I was amongst a group of my closest friends. I found out Dr Hinte was relocating to her new office at 3211 Eastway Dr. I soon followed her. I was greeted by a lovely new staff. Each associate has been so kind and beyond caring. There has been such a great atmosphere in both of these locations that I've visited. I went to the Dental Works on Eastway in 2020. I had a crown that came loose because I had started using a retainer.The Cement became aloose....There was no damage to the crown itself. When I went into the office I was a little hestitant because it was a brand new dentist that had not too long graduated. She was very pleasant in the beginning. I went in to get the crown re -cemented. She suggested that I get BRAND NEW CROWN because in her words "SHE COULD NOT GUARANTEE the older crown to last" The Old CROWN WAS Beautiful. When it came out , I actually that it was a live tooth!! She said in her "PRofessional OPINION IF IT WAS HER MOTHER----SHE WOULD RECOMMEND GETTIN THE NEW CROWN SINCE THE TOOTH WAS IN THE FRONT OF MY MOUTH" A Against my better judgement, i agreed. The Dentist even indicated she would make me a new retainer free of charge to make sure that crown area was cut out of the retainer. THAT WAS THE WORST MISTAKE I COULD HAVE EVER MADE. THey began to fit me for a temporary crown. They sent in a dental assistant to do it. I sat in that chair for 4 HOURS. She KEPT SHOVING THE TEMPORARY IN MY MOUTH to the point that my gums were bleeding excessively and I HAD A MAJOR HEADACHE. I Have had crowns before , but none have been so painful and took so long. WHen she finally finished ...AFTER 4 HOURS, I looked at the temporary crown...AND IT WAS STICKING OUT AT AN ANGLE....LIKE I HAD BUCK TEETH!!! I was immediatly upset for various reasons. I had several public events scheduled, not to mention I sing in church, and my teeth were buck. THey assured me it is just a temporary fitting and that the main crown would not look like that. ThAT area they worked on bleed for several days....fresh blood. I called back to let them know, and the dentist said don't worry "MY GUMS WERE JUST IRRITATED and IT WILL GET BETTER" I went back in to get the permanent crown, and that did not look much better than the buck tooth they had in my mouth for the temporary. To shorten this story. IN ONE YEAR the NEW CROWN FELL OUT OF MY MOUTH. WHEn I went back into the office.... The dentist immediatly started to lie about what she told me. SHe said She told me "SHE COULD NOT Guarantee that the "NEW CROWN would last......WHO WOULD OPT TO PAY (with insurance) $2000 for a new crown.....if they could not guarantee it to last for more than a year. I could have paid $68 to have them recement the old crown. After being visibly shaken by this and advised that the ROOT of the tooth was broken...OF WHICH DENTAL WORKS BROKE THE ROOT WHEN THEY WERE TRYING TO FIT THAT TEMPORARY CROWN IN MY MOUTH....THAT IS WHY THE TOOTH WAS BUCK AND ILL FITTING AND THAT IS WHY MY MOUTH BLEED FOR DAYS AFTERWARDS. I requested that my tooth be replaced with a permanent solution. THey gave me a "FLIPPER" and offered to give me the money I paid for the tooth back... I STILL DON'T HAVE A TOOTH IN MY MOUTH THAT IS PERMANENT ....and IT IS IN THE F RONT OF MY MOUTH. HAD I BEEN ANYONE ELSE, I believe they would have jumped to offer a solution that would be satisfactory for the customer. THAT DENTIST WOULD NOT WANT HER MIDDLE AGE MOTHER TO WALK AROUND WITH A MISSING TOOTH IN THE FRONT OF HER MOUTH. I SHould not have to pay $7000 for a implant.....when THEY DAMAGED THE ROOT OF MY TOOTH PERMANTLY!!!!! I CHECKED WITH SEVERAL OTHER DENTAL PLACES. THEY ALL GUARANTEE THAT CROWNS WITH LAST AT LAST 5 Years. THIS IS ALL TOGETHER HORRIBLE HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I Also failed to mention that during the year right after the crown was put in, the billing department kept charging me for the full amount of the crown as if I didn't have dental insurance....causing it to go on my credit. WE later discovered that the office did not file the claim properly and that is why it was denied payment. MY WHOLE EXPERIENCE HAS BEEN A NIGHTMARE! THEY HAVE YET TO DO RIGHT BY ME. I Still have this poorly fitted flipper in my mouth that is embarrassing when I tried to sing or eat out in public. DON'T FOOL WITH DENTAL WORKS ON EASTWAY DRIVE IN CHARLOTTE. NEVER GO ANYWHERE THAT WONT STAND BEHIND THEIR WORK and THE DENTIST ARE NOT TRUTHFUL. Today was my first time visiting and I was absolutely taken away. At first, I was worried about what I would need done and how much it would cost but Brittany made me feel comfortable instantly and did an amazing job breaking down my x-rays and recommending treatment. Dr. Melanie then looked at my teeth to follow up and she was just as helpful. I don't know the woman's name who was at the front desk unfortunately but she broke down estimated payments and helped me schedule my next appointment wonderfully. Dr. Hinte is the best dentist I've ever seen. She is professional, knowledgeable, and empathetic. She makes you feel so comfortable and will take the time to answer all questions you have. I was initially cautious because the yelp reviews were pretty harsh. I don't know who they saw when they visited and maybe the staffed completely overhauled. As for me and my root canal? No better place to go. I had a trip planned for the weekend. Dr. Hinte is amazing (actually better than the mere words I toss) and her staff, capable, competent, and efficient all great qualities. I got in, got diagnosed, treated comfortably, and on my way in what had to be record time. Dr. Hinte inspired confidence and trust and communicated with such sincerity I left with a hug feeling like a part of the family. In between, Giana ( I hope I get all the names right) assisted and prepped me for the procedure. I love her efficiency and her manner put me at ease. Oksana was compassionate and one of the first to make me comfortable. By the time I left I was confident I would be able to travel without issues. I mentioned the harsh reviews I'd read and my disbelief that my experience was so different. There is clearly no culture of horrors here. The music is even awesome, at least for me. Dr. Hinte promised to call later to check on me. A first for me. She did. WOW. This is a place where you are treated like you are welcome, you matter, your comfort and dignity as well. They are ok if you are on the government agenda or have money to burn. They made me an appointment with a dentist out of network, but the office was in network and I called them out and they will lower the fee, make sure you ask. On 12-23-14 I went to get a crown. I was told to come in on 1-15-15 to get my crown and then I was told it wasn't ready. Then I was told to come in on 1-22-15 and again I was told oops, it's not ready. Then on 2-3-15 I was told to come in...it DIDN'T fit!!! Now they're saying it 'll be ready on 3-6-15. read more

Dr. Best said that he would email office manager with my concerns when I spoke with him the night of my daughter's procedure. No response from Charlotte location from any of the three emails I've sent through main Dental Works website. Also left a voicemail Friday, August 19 in Monroe location that has yet to be returned (turns out manager was on vacation all week, but office staff didn't call to relay that) regarding refund that I was told on August 16 would be refunded to my Visa card. read more
