My mother is a Humana insurance member, and she was charged thousands of dollars for dental crowns that should have been covered. The office either failed to verify her insurance benefits properly or deliberately misled her about coverage. After being concerned about the high out-of-pocket costs, my mother sought a second opinion at a different dentist. To our shock, we were told that the crowns are fully covered under her Humana plan and should never have required such a large payment. This raises serious ethical concerns about the practices at this office. Either they are not competent enough to properly process insurance claims or they are intentionally overcharging patients for procedures that should be covered. This is not just frustrating--it's financially and emotionally damaging to patients, especially seniors on fixed incomes. I strongly encourage others to get a second opinion before agreeing to any major work here and to verify everything independently with your insurance provider. We will be reporting this office to Humana and the appropriate state dental board. Patients deserve transparency and honesty--not predatory billing.

Since it had been a while since I had been to see a dentist, I decided to take a punt and get an appointment too. So this review is the culmination of 3 appointments I have had at this Practice. For my 1st appointment, they took photos of my teeth and it wasn't that great. I kept gagging because of the way they took the dental x-rays, which was way more intrusive than what I have previously experienced with dentists I have been to in Belgium and Australia. To be honest, I was amazed that the US, with its "modern" healthcare, felt more like the 3rd world to me, in contrast to the pain free extra-oral X-rays I had previously encountered. If I was reviewing the practice on this visit alone, it would be 2 stars (Meh, I have experienced better) My second appointment was for tooth cleaning and I got Julissa, who was amazing. She was so gentle when cleaning my teeth, explained everything she was doing and kept checking in that I was okay. She also got me a lovely warm neck pillow and said I could ask for that again, if I wanted to. She also listened to me - I didnt want the pumice tooth cleaning done, just the tartar removal and the floss, and so I only got the services I wanted. If I was reviewing the practice on this visit alone, it would be 5 stars (Woo-hoo, as good as it gets). Seriously, if Julissa ever leaves this practice, I would follow her to her new place. My 3rd appt was for my filling and y'all it was so good! (Side note here: I found it weird that my tooth cleaning was scheduled prior to my tooth filling, cause I would have thought the latter would have been more urgent. But it was explained to me that the dentist was super busy and since I wasn't going to be in Orlando in Dec, we made this appt for January - I went and saw this dentist in October - so just be aware that her calendar is busy and fills up super quick!) I got explicit information about what the process was going to be and I really appreciated Dr Day being super gentle as my cavity was really close to the nerve. I said I wasn't familiar with this process bc it wasn't an appointment for me. This was during the first phone call with John. I told I'd talk it over with my grandmother and call back. This goes out to JOHN who answered my call the 2nd time. I inquired about how much it would cost (an estimate). He said " How much water is in my truck right now?" I said what? He repeated that 3 times and said there was no way to know. I then said well we could estimate X-rays, crown work, doctor appt cost, etc. John then yelled at me and told me to STOP TALKING. The receptionist is friendly and the insurance coordinator is very friendly and competent. I like the semi-private rooms with glass walls. They are very punctual with the appointment times. They accommodated me when I needed to reschedule in December. Just be aware the dentist does not do her own extractions. She has another dentist come in for that, which may be inconvenient. A later x-ray found that he left part of the root system in the gums.

I asked her to note that my daughter was petrified of dentists and literally hyperventilated in fear from a previous dental trauma. He made it a goal to make her feel comfortable. I was shocked to hear she would willingly go back to a dentist! The same assistant who worked on my teeth when I was a teenager answered the phone and remembered me! She said that she could fit me in tomorrow. 20 minutes later she called me back and said that she had a cancellation could fit me in today immediately at the same time when I was supposed to go to Greenberg dental...
