I have never had a worse experience w a professional than when I went here. I want to preface this…read moreby saying i am a physician- and MD who works at Jackson Memorial hospital and has to deal with other technicians on a day to day basis. I also want to say the dental physicians are excellent- I don't have a problem with them at all. My exam was thorough and complete. I went in after not seeing a dentist after a year and a half because of a hectic work schedule. After being evaluated by the dentist, i was recommended a deep cleaning. I told the dentist i choose to opt out of it and just get the regular cleaning. Firstly I don't believe in the deep cleaning being any better and I don't have the time and lastly my crappy HMO insurance doesn't cover the full cost. The dentist very quickly agreeded no problem just sign a paper saying u only want a regular cleaning . The hygenist then approached me and gave me a very bad attitude- and said that the dentist recommended a deep clean and under the law she doesn't have to do a regular clean . (Btw the deep clean was 400 bucks out of my pocket) . I said I will waive every right I just need the calculus and tarter picked off and a cleaning which I've always had. I've read extensively about deep cleaning and ultimately me and many ppl online agree it's A SCAM! the hygenist wanted to pocket more money in the same time it would take her to do a regular cleaning. I was then taken to a private office after I tried to talk to the dentist again about the problem I was having. I WORK IN THE HEALTH CARE FIELD! I AS A PATIENT GET TO CHOOSE THE KIND OF CARE I WANT. I do not want a deep clean and I was forced to make the decision to get one. After the dentist tried t talk to the hygenist an Asian woman who seemed to be the lead hygenist vs the office manager took me to a private office and gave me the excuse that the hygenist doesn't want to Put her license on the line cause I didn't have a cleaning in 1 yr and if she cleaned my teeth and I got infective endocarditis (a heart infection) then I could sue them even after I said I would waive all rights and that the dentist said it was ok. I then said if I got the deep cleaning and opted out of the 300 dollars worth of antibiotics- which r research proven to be not significant in decreasing a heart infection- it would be ok. Cause insigned a waiver (and also paid 200 bucks for...) HOW DOES THIS MAKE SENSE AT ALL. The doctor, the boss- said it's OK to get a regular cleaning and I was forced to get a deep cleaning. I ultimately chose to stop listening to the office manager all together and just left . I came in with a request which the dentist agreeded to. It was very simple. I should have never been involved. The hygenist is employed by the dentist and any issue should have been between them not the patient. THIS IS THE DEFINITION OF WHAT IS WRONG WITH OUR HEALTHCARE SYSTEM. It' was and is always about money. THIS WAS HANDS DOWN THE WORST EXPERIENCE I EVER HAD. I was treated horribly. I felt scammed by a hygenist of all people- and they knew they were talking to a physician! NO DOUBT THEY WILL TAKE ADVANTAGE OF PEOPLE WHO DONT HAVE MEDICAL KNOWELDGE. I am on the board of resident life at Jackson Hospital which happens to employ the largest number of residents in the country. The HMO coverage provided by my workplace covers very few dentists and MANY residents chose this dentists office. I will make sure every single resident I work with will know this story and stop coming to this practice.

My experience with hygienist Cecelia Brenner has been awful. I initially saw Ms. Brenner in August…read more2022. My visit was for a cleaning. Instead of providing me with my service she began to waste a lot of time by explaining her experience and background. She boasted that she also works for Nova clinic. Ultimately she pressured me into a deep cleaning that was not covered by my insurance. The cost was in excess of $400.00. After applying aggressive pressure for approximately half an hour, she said it was my choice to proceed with the deep cleaning and unfortunately I did. On January 7, 2023, I went into the office for a cleaning, which is covered under my insurance. When I checked in, the front desk informed me that I was no longer eligible for a regular cleaning because I had a deep cleaning in August so I had to have another deep cleaning. This was not covered by my issuance so I would have to pay again out of pocket. No one from the office explained to me that if I agreed to do a deep cleaning, that I would no longer be "eligible" for a regular cleaning. After waiting for half an hour I was finally called in by Ms. Benner. She again described her experience and bragged about the fact that she also works at Nova. Then she began aggressively pressure me into another deep cleaning. I explained to her that I have been waiting for half an hour and the only thing I am there for is a regular cleaning. I told her that I am not finally prepared to pay for something that is not covered by my insurance. She said that finances are not her concern. She also said that she is not going to "perform the services I requested, she will do what she wants." The is the second time that Ms. Brenner attempted to force services onto me. She was condescending, rude, and in my opinion unethical.

Waits exceeding 15 or 20 minutes can leave your patients feeling frustrated and forgotten." - literally at every dental place. The wait should not exceed no more than 15-20 minutes. I have been waiting for 30 minutes. This was the longest dental exam I've ever had in my life. On top of the anxiety I was experiencing waiting and sitting here. If they were busy, and overbooked. They should have rescheduled. They called plenty of times days before my exam to remind me of my appointment only for me to be waiting and sitting here. Usually I don't mind the wait , but waiting 30+ minutes after check in. And then 30 mins after the "x-ray" exam.. the dental assistant didn't even tell me a time when someone was coming and here I am just waiting and waiting. At this point, I just want to walk out but I already paid. Smart move- make them pay beforehand so they have to wait for service to be done. When I was getting my x-rays done, gosh that was painful - shoving it in my mouth and not being gentle. I felt the soreness after in my mouth. I am not even sure if I will be coming back here for any services.

The best review I could give is that a couple from Port Saint Lucie were in the waiting room with me. They drive over 100 miles for appointments here because they trust and love the dentist. Dear Dental Total Team,…read more I'm writing to express my dissatisfaction with a recent visit to your office. A day before my scheduled appointment at a location closer to my home, I was informed it was canceled, so I chose the next closest option. Upon arrival, the front desk receptionist was professional and kind, and the assistant who performed the x-rays was also courteous and efficient. However, I would have appreciated a warning that the visit could take between 2 to 4 hours. My appointment was at 11:00 AM, and although I arrived on time, I had not seen or spoken to a dentist by 12:50 PM, at which point I decided to leave. This was a frustrating and unprofessional experience, and I will not be returning. Before leaving, I asked if there would be any charges, and the receptionist said everything would be covered. That statement concerns me, as I do not expect to be billed--nor should my insurance be billed--for a visit where I received no professional consultation or explanation regarding the x-rays. I did not request x-rays, and they were not reviewed with me in any way. I do not consider this a valid medical service, and I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau (BBB) if I discover any charges were submitted to my insurance for services that were neither requested nor completed.
