Night server is very inefficient at her job. Tables are dirty, she doesn't clean up after people leave and is leaving it for morning server to do. Night server, Ann, is lazy and unprofessional at her job. I would not want her as my server. The morning server, Gina, immediately started by greeting customers, cleaning tables and the holding bar, seating customers, and taking orders as fast as humanly possible, taking food out ti the tables, prepping beverage dispensers, and literally managing 3 jobs in one until her coworker and boss arrived to help. read more

The Dennys staff was so kind and nice to all of us!!! Can't believe how incredibly helpful and amazing everyone was!

Home of the Tacoma pop up! Support! Really good staff. Super friendly. Always consistent.

Do not order food for delivery from here. It was disgusting and when delivered they wont do a thing. My chicken sandwich and fries was stone cold. The Bun was so soggy it grossed me out. I also ordered Nachos the chips came in one container and topping in another. The toppings were cold, but they cant be heated up because the idiots mixed the sour cream in. I don't think it is wise to heat sour cream! read more

I have dined in a couple of Dennys here in Western Washington. This one is by far, the best to me. The service was great! A lady, waitress named Jennifer was the only server on this a Sunday and she held her own. The food was also somehow better. Yes the menus are basically the same. However, the food, the fresh quality, even the taste was just better. Great atmosphere, nice people, great waitress, great food, you can't go wrong. read more

Do you ever drive by a Denny's and think to yourself.. Can you ever really get good food there? This location has great staff it's a very clean place and always hot food! We like the burgers as well as the breakfast! Never disappoint and I will tell you the wait staff that we have had the pleasure of encountering has always been spot on and well deserving of the tip being left! read more

Denny's - a plate of food with a sandwich and hash browns - Diners Near Me - Tacoma, Washington

ZERO FREAKING STARS. Online order, the effing worst! Cold and tasteless. Why isn't salt/spices used in Wa State? This food was incredibly bland. First and LAST time here! Angry and I'm sure they do NOT care. read more

The waiter last night so super pushy about a tip... she basically asked for money for the cook and her to split we were going to tip anyways but it made me feel super uncomfortable.... My bf and I won't be going here anymore or any Denny's anymore to be honest their always trying to make you uncomfortable and remind you to tip, when we already were gonna tip it's just super pathetic and unnecessary when you're just trying to eat. read more

OMG, the service was so slow, Tables not clean, Soda flat. The worse part is the fact that the food was inedible: fat was the only flavor besides salt. When the final bill came for the three of us, the senior grilled cheese sandwich was actually higher priced than the "regular grilled cheese". The potato soup had been put together with stale ingredients and the potatoes were not fully cooked. Never again, my hotel continental breakfast was better than Denny's. read more

It's Denny's. You know you aren't going to get the same level of service or quality of food as you would get in a more expensive restaurant, right? Knowing that, and having these 2022 inflations that seemed to have happened much faster than anticipated (no politics here), one would expect this establishment to be of reasonable price for a Mom and her kids just going out for breakfast. Anyway, kids ordered fine, teens ordered fine, and then came mine. I happen to be eating clean at the moment and didn't want meat or dairy. Easy fix. Everyone has salad, hash browns, fruit, veggies, etc. Right?!? Made my order - three sides of hashbrowns and some veggies. Easy. Cool. Get the kids/teens their food. Get my food. Tastes fine. Light convo with my toddlers about why we don't punch each other and how to use a crayon for coloring on our own paper and not our siblings. The same 'ol banter. We finish our meal. Get the bill. $60??????? What could I have possibly ordered to have been that much? The kids bill comes to about $7/$8 a kid - awesome! Not the issue. My meal came to $21.23! My three sides of hashbrowns and veggies were $22?!? Umm..what? My receipt is below. Excuse me? Not ONCE was I informed of pricing or if it would be EXTRA or given the option to opt out. She asked me what kind of veggies and I said zucchini and mushrooms. She said, fine, add some broccoli? Ok. Sounds good. She never once said it would be $3.99 for that broccoli. That it would be an extra $1.29 to have them fajita blended (I didn't even mention how the cook should make them) sauté'd (how else would you cook veggies for a side dish) and to add MUSHROOMS it would be $1.29? Are you kidding me?!? I have never left a restaurant so pissed. I paid, I'm not a savage, but I did not leave a tip. The best part, no apology made and she even smirked at me when I told her what she did wasn't right. Not cool, Patricia. Hope she got that. read more

I will not be returning to this Denny's. At all. The staff aren't that bad but they aren't quite chipper either. I ordered online and waited 20 minutes before I left to go get the food. Online said it would take 20 minutes for the food and it took me about 10-12 minutes to get there. So roughly 30 minutes for them to make the food. I get there and end up having to wait for the food. While waiting I decided to sit at the counter. While sitting there I started to notice a foul smell that smelt all too familiar. It was mildewed water. That same water they were using to wipe off the counters. And it was terrible. They just were not very clean in this establishment. My order came with a side of fries that I didn't receive and almost walked out. Then remembered them and went back. They said I didn't order it so I showed them my receipt and they made it right away. When I got home we started eating our food. I started cutting my sons pancakes and they were gooey inside!!!! So I decided to cut mine and the same thing!!! I then started to get nervous about the sausage that my son ate considering that the pancakes weren't cooked. Like at all. Will never return. read more

It's a Dennys. The Good- Food came fast, was filling and the waitress was nice. With Dennys, you know what you're getting food wise, gut bomb. The Bad- The interior had definitely seen better days. A worn carpet, damaged seats and drab colors brings me back to the 90's. Bleh. The Ugly- Trash everywhere. On the floor inside, in the parking lot outside, the seats of the booth had straw wrappers. This place just hadn't been properly cleaned. Not sure if I'd come back. It's close, but a little sketchy and a bit too dirty for me to want to meet someone at again. read more

Giving it a one star due to management. Moses is the name he gave me. Just in case it was a false name - short, 5 foot-5'4", brown skin complexion, glasses, short black hair. I've been coming to this specific dennys since I was a kid. Recently I've moved back to the area and door dash on the side. Some of my orders come from this location if not others in Tacoma. Yes the location is different and gotten worse over the years but the people that worked there have always been sweet and make you feel at home for a quick meal. Whenever I come in as a guest or a dasher the staff always greet me and sometimes we have small talk. Tonight was different. I came in and it looked like there was a manager on duty around 10 pm.. never seen them before - I say possibly a manager because the way he was dressed differently. Normally when I pick up I give the confirmation number or show them my phone (as in this area people are known for taking orders) he asked "who are you picking up for" I showed him my phone as I had multiple orders. He had a rude response of "can you read it to me" he said it very rude but I just was like ok.. I read it to him. I had to step to the side as the food was not ready. A lady had approached and asked for verification of who I was picking up for. I told her The names and she asked to see my phone. She told me that a lot of people will have pictures or screenshots. Or try to take someone's order. I had told her I tried to tell the manager but he wanted me to tell him instead. He jumped in the conversation rather quick with the response that he couldn't see. (Even though he had his glasses on and was reading receipts prior to hopping in the conversation) I told him that was fine but you don't talk to people like that it's not what you said it's how you said it. He replied " well I don't care" I'm big on customer service and general communication I have my own business and part of customer service is de escalation. It was highly unprofessional to use a rude tone then when expressed that I didn't like it I got - " I don't care " There's plenty of people that would "care" to have a job, to not talk to or treat someone less than. He obviously either had a bad day or just isn't a good fit to be a leader, or representing a national company. Let alone that type of irrational behavior can definitely fuel a fire with anyone that maybe has less patience on disrespect and unprofessionalism, than me. Which I'm sure is more than likely to happen on hosmer in Tacoma dealing with a variety of people with different backgrounds, upbringings, mental health. Etc. read more

If possible I would give 0 stars. My girlfriend ordered over easy eggs & they came out over hard and cold. All of the food was cold when we received it. We ended up not eating & going somewhere else. we both work in the food industry so we both know it was a load of shit for what we would've paid for it. The man who I assume was the manager handled it well when we told him we wanted to just leave & that was the best part of the experience. read more

After being seated and served our drinks, we were forgotten about. In fact a couple seated nearby had their order taken AND brought to them while we sat and waited. It wasn't until we stood up to leave (20 minutes after arriving) that we were acknowledged. The excuse given was that they were overwhelmed by takeout orders. That's fine, but it doesn't excuse ignoring people who are dining in especially since is allowed once again! A simple 'I'll be with you shortly" would have sufficed and taken all of two or three seconds. read more

I haven't been to a Denny's since about 1994, but our dining options were limited on this layover. The server worked really hard. The food came out quickly. The nachos tasted good as an appetizer. They forgot to bring my soup. The chicken fried steak left a lot to be desired. Cleanliness....meh.....not dirty, not clean though either. Menus were sticky. I doubt I'll ever go back, but it wasn't terrible either. read more

Wanted to go there because kids eat free on Tuesday. Well not such a good decision. Get seated and ask for a high chair got one but it was really dirty . Our server was nice and greeted us right away. Took our order and then returned with our drinks then our food. Never to see our waiter again after we got our food. So now refills not to ask how our food was . Looked for him and didn't see him at all. Waited 10 mins after we finished eating to finally flag another waitress down to get my bill. Paid and still left a tip! But that will be the last time I ever eat there. I hope the customer service gets better. read more

Had a free birthday coupon. They made me stay inside to eat my "free meal," blackened the pancakes, and took my phone to the counter to scan the code (even though I asked at the beginning about having it scanned first). Cashier not wearing gloves, handled everything without sanitizer. Oh, and no napkins anywhere. The server was still pretty cheerful so I was going to call a manager and leave a decent compliment but the person who answered the phone asked me to call back in six hours because "We're busy right now." Most awkward, disturbing birthday breakfast ever. read more

I wish I could give zero stars. I will never go to Dennys on Hosmer. The manager was so rude. We sat down our waitress was an older lady. She was so rude. She talked to us like we were children. And when we said thank you she would ignore us. My cousin order the chocolate banana pancakes and she said they were hard. I order the Zesty Nachos it was freezing cold so I let them know I was very nice she just took the plate and didn't say anything. Then when it came back everything was cold except the chips. The Queso freezing the chili freezing so I asked for manager. I said I have a quick question is the Queso and chili on the nachos supped to be cold. And she replied what more do you want? I watched them remake it. She never answered my question and kept saying i don't know what more you want. She took the nachos off after being so rude to me. He refilled our drinks himself. 3 hours into service and not everyone received their food. By this time I was annoyed frustrated HUNGRY and angry. The good: Awesome service. We felt welcome coming in and was sat at a table very quickly. The employees were happy and treated us great. The waitress did a good job. Coffee was good. The bad: The food was horrible. My breakfast skillet was grease and some potatoes. My side of pancakes were raw in the middle. My wife couldn't eat her soup since it tasted like a salt bowl. If you charge $11 for a breakfast skillet it should have more than burnt and unrecognizable ingredients. It should also have more mass than a $.99 cent frozen microwave meal. I ordered Denny's Delivery on their app like we always do. Normally we ordered from the Federal Way location, but we just moved to Tacoma so now this location is our nearby Denny's. When our food arrived, two items were missing. We weren't that upset but just like to inform them of the mistake so they can be more careful with other people's orders. When I called them, a man picked up and was very rude saying he checked it himself and that everything was in there-implying that either I was lying or the deliver driver took the food (which doesn't make sense because one of my MEALS was missing potatoes, which would've been under the pancakes and would have left behind some type of evidence...) He didn't offer me any help and didn't even apologize for the inconvenience. Safe to say Denny's has now lost my once very loyal business solely for their lack of customer service. read more

The food is good Denny's type food, that is when you can actually get service. And that's a real hit-or-miss. One time I came in and sat at the counter. The server must have walked right in front of me 5-6 times and never acknowledged my presence. After about 20 minutes I assumed the server must have thought I was a ghost, and ghosts don't eat. BOO!
