I had an amazing experience at Denny's! From the moment we walked in, the hospitality was outstanding. The General Manager did a fantastic job making sure everything ran smoothly and that every guest felt welcomed and appreciated. Their leadership truly shows in the positive atmosphere throughout the restaurant. Our server was friendly, attentive, and made sure our drinks were always full and that we had everything we needed. They provided excellent customer service with a smile and made our dining experience even better. The cooks did an incredible job--the food came out fresh, hot, and absolutely delicious! Every dish was prepared perfectly, from breakfast favorites to hearty meals. You can tell the kitchen team takes pride in quality and presentation. Overall, this Denny's location exceeded expectations with great food, excellent service, and strong management leadership. I haven't eaten at Denny's for a long time. I was amazed to see the improvements in the menu. I had the Avocado burger--it exceeded my expectations. One other thing: The men's room positively sparkled! It was clean and smelled fresh. I spoke with a young woman named Charlie who admitted to doing the cleaning of the restrooms. Charlie should get a Special Commendation for her excellent work. Keep up the good work, Denny's! I'm looking forward to visiting again the next time I go through Alamogordo. Charlie: you are shiny! Bright and early around 01:30 on 27AUG2024 I got off of work and placed an order online for pickup. I went and picked up my Moons Over MyHammy meal with a side of French toast to take home and eat. Now while I was there I heard the cook tell the cashier to "say sorry in advance about food service time".... I paid no mind to that and took my food home. Now I'm home and am eating my chow. I went to bed about 30min after eating.... No problem. About an hour later I get woke up by my stomach turning really bad, I went into the restroom and next thing you know I had it coming out of both ends VIOLENTLY for 3 hours and then an hour of dry heaving. FOOD POISONING 100%!! Old rotten ham and/or eggs. Here it is the 29th of August and I'm still sick to my stomach and can't eat anything without my stomach cramping and me having to take a trip to a restroom. DO BETTER DENNYS read more

The side salad was 75% hard white core. Very little green lettuce leaf. The salads came out with the meal not befor the meal. The broccoli was soft a mushy. The white gravy was watery. The toast was burnt. The oven was broken so we couldn't have lasagne. The music was very loud and inappropriate for a mature clientele. read more

My wife and I had a late breakfast this morning at the Denny's restaurant in Alamogordo, NM, and we're very glad we did. It's been perhaps over two years since the last time we had a meal at this restaurant, and today's visit was very satisfying. The hostess, Ciji, is delightful and very attentive. Both my wife's and my meal were so good, I asked Ciji to call the manager so I could pass on my compliments about Ciji and especially the person preparing our delicious meal. The only thing my wife and I remembered about eating at this locaton before, was that it had been quite chilly inside. However, this time, it was just right. The only thing that at all detracted from our time there today was the music (a bit too loud and intense for our senior-citizen taste). It's nice to be able to talk without having to compete with the music. As seniors, we're very attentive to the quality of food and service when we eat out. We've seen an unfortunate trend at way too many restaurants where the quality of both leave much to be desired. I know it's difficult to find and keep good service help. Train, pay and treat the good ones well. They're more likely to stick around and continually improve. It's good business sense. The manager of this Denny's obviously gets it. While they seem to be a bit shorthanded, the food was very good! I ordered the eggs and tri tip. Tri tip was perfectly cooked and delicious. Eggs are eggs for me but went very well with the beef. Will order again. read more

Why the low ratings on this Denny's? Sure there are plenty of other local restaurants to eat at, but nothing is wrong with this Denny's. I've only been for breakfast at normal breakfast hours. I haven't been here late at night. If you want some breakfast there are PLENTY of other places to check out (Country Kitchen, Alamo Grill, etc). But if you want something familiar, then Denny's is for you. Service was fast. Place was clean. There was plenty of parking. Everyone is so friendly in alamogordo - I can't see why this place would get anything less than 3 stars. 3 Stars = A-OK! read more

We have dined here a few times and dining it we get good service and the food is always the bomb. I especially love that they give us old folks a discount menu and it's all delicious, the burgers are yummy as well as breakfast. We always go on off times and it's pretty quiet we enjoy it. read more

This was a 1 star, but we had a great waitress Sonya. Walked in and there were maybe 4 tables seated and 2 seats of 2 people waiting. Stood in the entrance for 20 minutes before being acknowledged. The food is fine - but a VERY SLOW KITCHEN!! The background music is head-banger rock - although the clientele are mostly senior citizens. Tonight we were told the ovens aren't working so forget any of those dishes. The teenage gal who "served" us was dismissive and without any social skills. She never checked on us - so we never got jelly for the toast. They hide the jelly now. When we went to check out the same teen said we'd have to wait because the til was empty and the credit card machine would t work. Apparently the manager took the cash draw and went in the back to count it. We were expected to sit and wait - as was the other couple behind us. We were all late 70s or 80s. I told the teen to go back and get the manager and let us pay - or we'd consider our meals on the house. She begrudgingly went back but came out with heavy- duty attitude. The teen just slam- banged her counter top and threw papers angrily into the garbage to demonstrate her displeasure. She got ZERO tip! I have no idea why we go to Dennys. I will give them credits for being one of the only places open on thanksgiving, however the service was absolutely terrible. it took almost over 30 mins for us to get a table. And then when we were ordering drinks they asked my grandma, my grandpa, and then let me ask for what I wanted. But the lady walked away before my dear sweet mother could order. We ate at Denny's in Alamogordo on October, 5,2021 We had Johnnie as our server and just LOVED them! Johnnie was training, and was worried about getting everything right, no need to worry at all. We were served everything the way we ordered it, and even had a chance to visit and talk with our server Johnnie. Thank you so much for making it such a pleasurable dining experience. Yesterday was my birthday so we went to Denny's. We got sat right away and waitress took our drink orders and served them right away. After sitting their for 15 minutes I had to go tell our waitress that we were ready to order. The food was hot and yummy; kudos to the cooks. We would go their after my husbands VA visit. Appearance: ***walking in to the restaurant I see the floor needs vacuuming. It was 1316 on a Saturday. Probably because of the lunch rush. Server's are well groomed and presentable. Service:**** the quality of any restaurant that will assure any return is determined on service and taste. Service was courteous and expedient. My coffee was never empty and server was attentive. Serving Size:*** massive! Clearly, larger portions of what may be required by Dennys standards. Food Presentation:*** presentation is very good. It is clear that the cooks take pride in the food they put out. Taste:***ordered the lumberjack plate and the Half order nachos. Taste was typical to what one might make at home. Sausage was a little soft, maybe under cooked. Eggs were cooked over hard with a hard text. Bacon was bacon and pancakes were light and easy to cut with a fork. Cleanliness:***servers were cleaning while not serving and the restaurant looked like it had just finished the lunch rush. Did not look in the restroom. Over good and clean. I would go back.
