Dennis is probably my favorite counselor/therapist. He really cares about his patients and checks in with them to see how they're doing. He listens and responds to you after you say something rather than writing things down or looking at a clipboard. He has really cool toys for people with anxiety to have something to hold while they talk. I've noticed that all good counselors, therapists, and psychiatrists I've been to usually have toys. I first met Dennis when I was 17, my parents sent me to him because I was deeply depressed. I didn't feel comfortable opening up to any of the other therapists or psychologists I was seeing, because they didn't really try to connect with me. Dennis reminded me that I was a person, under all my anger and sadness and pain. I was pretty numb and disconnected from emotions, but he saw past all that to the person I was. I moved away before college, but when I realized I had unresolved things to sort through last month Dennis was the one I chose to seek treatment from through zoom. It's nice to have someone in your corner and Dennis is always in your corner. read more
