After all that the triglycerides, HDL and LDL could not be balanced (one will improve at the expense of the other).Dr. Patel right away diagnosed the issue, and put me Advicor (much milder medicine, with no statins), plus got rid of the unsustainable diet-restriction, asking to "live normal life, eating with common-sense and moderation." Just 8 months into the treatment ALL my triglyceride, HDL & HDL became better than normal, all the while eating normal food and finally enjoying life. It's been 3 years since then, and I am still in normal range! Dr. Patel takes the time to ask detailed questions to come up with holistic diagnosis. Case and point was how he diagnosed my chronic skin rash issue. He correctly diagnosed that no medicine was needed, just change the laundry detergent! One more thing that I really appreciate is his availability to answer questions by emails. I doubt he will ever understand how much I needed that or how much it meant. I hope Mercy Medical recognizes the importance of his actions and caring ways. Dr Nicholas has been my primary dr for over 10 years. Super responsive and either a great memory or great notes. Either way he makes you feel like you are an important patient.

I came from…read moreWoodland Healthcare, leaving my primary care doctor of 20 years and the luxury of a small clinic (where you could injure your knee so badly you could barely walk and could see someone in orthopedics within a couple days, instead of the 6 weeks you have to wait at "Dignity"/ Mercy Midtown). But I digress...I was worried I wouldn't find a primary care doctor who I trusted as much as my former doctor. And then I met Dr. Aryal. I have never looked back. She is always responsive in addressing my health issues. When "Dignity" intercepts my email messages to her in the portal and tries to bury me in their bureaucracy, Dr. Aryal gets things back on track. She is an ethical physician who has treated me with the highest degree of care and compassion. My former doctor once walked out of our appointment when I showed up with a list of issues to address, but Dr. Aryal says "ok, so I will order blood work for this, prescribe this medication, and refer you to radiology. What else can I help you with?". She doesn't make me feel rushed, and she is an empathetic listener who asks questions. She is warm, genuine, kind, competent, and she knows how to navigate Mercy's ridiculous system. Dr. Aryal remembers to address me by the name I go by instead of my legal name (something that many doctors can't seem to do no matter how many times I ask them or how long [20 years] I've been their patient, which makes a good bedside manner seem impersonal). Addressing another user's post - I have several health issues including chronic pain. Dr. Aryal will suggest alternatives to drugs if she thinks the alternatives will be helpful to the patient, but she did not hesitate to prescribe me pain medication. Mercy Midtown also has a good pain management department Dr. Aryal referred me to. Additionally, Dignity called me to say "Dr. Aryal requires you to come in before she can refill your thyroid medication". When I told the caller that I had seen Dr. Aryal within the last two months and that I had recently had blood work to check my thyroid, I was told "Dr. Aryal says you need to come in." Dr. Aryal was upset when I told her this, saying that she had not said that, and that next time, I should email her and she will refill my prescription. That was the first of at least 4 falsehoods (that I'm aware of) that Dignity has told me over the phone - they try to make you comply with their policy and say it's something that your doctor said, when in fact, your doctor has no knowledge of it. This unethical practice is something that appalls Dr. Aryal and is greatly concerning to her. For this reason, I cannot imagine her lying about a patient, as the other reviewer stated, or exhibiting anything other than the highest ethical behavior.

I presented with a long term injury and after telling me to do all the things I'd already done for the previous year, her answer was to rub almond oil on it. That was it. (Yes, I did try it. No, it didn't help.) It became clear she didn't actually believe I had an injury or any related pain at all. She would smile and nod and then just give me some advice that I'd already tried or tell me to get almond oil. As my issue got worse, I asked for some pain relief and she treated me like a pill popper (despite zero history). She witnessed by symptoms get worse (and in fact they were at their worst under her care) and seemed to just think I was lying to get drugs, so she didn't prescribe me anything except Advil. It was really traumatic and difficult to be navigating the system while being in constant, extreme pain, wanting to get healed, and to have to have a doctor be so dismissive and disrespectful. I left her practice and requested my records to transfer to a new doctor. I found that in my records she either lied or confused me with another patient because several of my chart notes were just wrong. She documented therapies she never gave me, and history that I did not present with. When I complained about this, she dismissed me from practice. So....didn't help me, treated me like a druggie, made my issue worse, and then kicked me out when I complained about the mistreatment. I don't recommend Dignity at all. Their management is not patient focused and encourages this type of behavior in their docs, with no oversight if a patient is harmed. But, if you get stuck going to Dignity, try another doctor.

In my opinion that means she is trained on the latest medicine and had the energy required to dedicate herself to taking care of me. In my experience, office staff have always been kind and helpful. When I go to my appointments, I've never had a long wait - they are generally pretty much on schedule. I would recommend her in a heartbeat.

When we got engaged my husband was happy that I too would become a patient of Dr. Flaningam after we got married, and I too am glad he is our doc. Angela and all the staff are great about responding to calls, keeping you informed and being prompt. Everyone is really nice, and care is excellent.

This is an exact description of her comments after seeing Dr Quinto. He is a very pleasant man. He listens well and asks numerous questions, felt that a referral to the best endocrinologist in the area would be wise. Although, I have had to follow up with a call to her team a few times, I am convinced it is a processing, workflow issue that Dignity as well as my previous provider, needs to address, not De Ansari! Until then, I decided to be my own advocate in order to keep this wonderful doctor. We had to resort to contacting another doctor to renew the thyroid medication as we were now completely out. It seems to be a lapse in commutation from the portal messages to the doctor and visa versa. We are greatly disappointed and pray this type of service does not happen to anyone else.
