Unum - Had to get a surgery done was absolutely terrible. I could see it being the reason why I don't retire here at Amway.

Would I recommend it, NO. Unfortunately that is what I have from work…read more My recommendation for anybody time is to plan your medical leave, if aplicable, and get all the paper word ready a week. Make sure that your doctor(s) send ALL THE PAPERR work necessary and extra to prevent any excuses from UNUM. Step 2, RECORD ALL THE CALLS!!! Video or audio. They way you can hold them accountable for any future " we did not said that". It will save you a lot of time and you can offer to send them a copy. This will acelerare any issues or steps the need to take in case they need to retry any calls from their end. Also, if you have medical leave they will try to low ball you. DONT LET THEM. if the doctor says that you need to be out fro "X" and it was approved, don't let them trick you into believing that they can only cover a short time; LIES!!! They try to day to mee in November by sayin that they can only cover 2 weeks when the doctors said 2 months. I did not let them fool me. Hopefully, not everything is bad. There are some decent employees that do have some grey mass inside their skull, some others, well not so much. Absolutely horrible company. They are single handedly out to profit from policy holders. No matter…read morehow valid an illness is or critical of a condition you might be. Once they have your premiums they will use every tactic, loophole or theor superior legal budget to strong arm their way out of paying any sort of disbursement. Their unethical, immoral and unjust treatment of customers/patients is their standard. If you have the means or wherewithal to even contest them in any way they're systemically set up to make it almost impossible to contact anyone, get a reply or any sort of straight line information to contest their wrongful denials. The company operates as a new age mafia using your health and livelihood of your or loved ones as collateral for any spare penny you may have left. Instead of thugs at your door to break your legs, it is suits and a deep legal budget to drag you through the gauntlet until you cant fight back. Right and wrong plays no part in their business and decisions. Only dollar and cents and they want it all.
