Unum - Had to get a surgery done was absolutely terrible. I could see it being the reason why I don't retire here at Amway.

Would I recommend it, NO. Unfortunately that is what I have from work…read more My recommendation for anybody time is to plan your medical leave, if aplicable, and get all the paper word ready a week. Make sure that your doctor(s) send ALL THE PAPERR work necessary and extra to prevent any excuses from UNUM. Step 2, RECORD ALL THE CALLS!!! Video or audio. They way you can hold them accountable for any future " we did not said that". It will save you a lot of time and you can offer to send them a copy. This will acelerare any issues or steps the need to take in case they need to retry any calls from their end. Also, if you have medical leave they will try to low ball you. DONT LET THEM. if the doctor says that you need to be out fro "X" and it was approved, don't let them trick you into believing that they can only cover a short time; LIES!!! They try to day to mee in November by sayin that they can only cover 2 weeks when the doctors said 2 months. I did not let them fool me. Hopefully, not everything is bad. There are some decent employees that do have some grey mass inside their skull, some others, well not so much. I gave 2 star just because of the good experience I had after finally getting in touch with someone with brain.

I first filed a claim with this company back in February. It is now May and they have closed out…read morethe claim a number of times and a week later I get my mail stating I need paperwork by a certain date or they will close my case which they closed a week prior to me receiving the paperwork they want. When trying to call them I never am able to speak to someone and no matter what time of the day it is they will call me back tomorrow. I have NEVER received a call back. Every time I call the person I speak to does not know what is holding up the claim and my doctor has faxed over the information that they request at least 5 different times. Now my claim is under review by someone that has no medical back ground. Who are they to review my case and go against what the doctors are recommending? This is the poorest run company that heaven forbid the employees have to talk to someone. At this point I would rather kill myself than deal with these people anymore. I am giving a 1 star review because I have no choice it is the lowest star I can give

Bay Area has been under new ownership for about 2 years now. Service has been oustanding…read more Communication great. The best title insurance companies thoroughly conduct a title search, investigate the property's ownership records, and ensure smooth ownership transfer for the seller and purchaser. Bay Area does all this and more. Highly recommend!

On the day of our closing I sent two e-mails and a voice message requesting a status update. After receiving no replies, at 4:48 PM (the office closes at 5 PM) I finally got through to Sue, the President. When I voiced my displeasure at her lack of communication, she scolded me and told me she didn't respond because she was BUSY WITH CLOSINGS. Yep, never mind I was calling about my own closing - she did not pick up on the irony. Oh, and my closing didn't happen that day, not that Sue showed any concern. I'm not surprised though since Bay Area waited until the last possible moment to send docs for signature, resulting in unnecessary overnight delivery fees. When I requested they send docs to me via e-mail for printing and signature to expedite things and save money, they refused, citing their "special" paper (this turned out to be standard stock, no letterhead, no nothing). I suspect they don't have a scanner. If this is an important transaction for you, go elsewhere. This place is in the Stone Age.

Mike Hayes is an incompetent, unresponsive insurance broker. Whenever you talk to him on the phone,…read morehe doesn't listen, just talks over you about what he thinks you want. He has poor reading comprehension, and spent months last year telling us that the inspector for our insurance company wanted us to have an empty trailer home removed, when in fact, the inspector had a detailed list which Mike denied ever having received, and which didn't include anything about the empty mobile home. It took the insurance provider sending us a policy cancellation (for not responding to their inspector's list) for us to even realize that something was wrong. It was so bad that we recently hired another broker to find us new policies (with much better coverage for the same price!). We then sent Mike the simple written instruction "Allow these policies to expire", only to find that he cancelled the policies! We only found out today that there was a day when we had no insurance coverage at all because Mike couldn't follow simple directions! It's a good thing we didn't get into an accident or have a fire that day! This only confirms what I've always suspected, that he isn't actually able to read. Buyer beware!
