For a long time, I wasn't happy with the appearance of my teeth. Even though I regularly visited the dentist, drinking coffee every day and never having my teeth whitened left quite a few stains on them. I found Dennis Baik online and scheduled an appointment at his office. After calling the office, I was able to get an appointment within just 3 days. At the clinic, the staff was friendly and professional, and the results of the Zoom whitening really surprised me. The only downside was tooth sensitivity and pain for the rest of the day after the visit, but I think that also depends on the individual. Part 2 of this saga. Dr. Baik said two teeth needed to be extracted for a very elderly patient. He did not take any xrays to examine the teeth roots. We went to another trustworthy dentist who said the roots of those 2 teeth were alive and strong and no way needed to be extracted. Going to the dentist because you have to get a wisdom tooth pulled doesn't sound like the most fun, and certainly not pleasant. I chose Dr. Baik to get my top left wisdom tooth pulled because he was the only doctor that I entrusted to pull my other one back in the early 2000's. (Yes, I'm that patient that didn't need all of her wisdom teeth pulled because I have more room in my jaw- no further explanation needed.) So why get this one pulled? I somehow got a cavity on it. If I didn't get it taken out, it was going to eventually decay and there was no way I was going to let that occur. I happened to have an appointment right as "shelter in place" was starting and I was comforted to know that the office was taking every precaution to ensure safety. I was instructed to kindly wait in my car as they were only taking in one patient in at a time and that they would come get me as soon as they were done. Once inside the waiting area, instead of noticing people waiting in chairs, I saw that it was only me and the office administrator. She was also wearing a mask when she handed me some paperwork to fill out. Dr. Baik was professional (just like I remembered) and made my time in his chair go by quickly and painlessly. I didn't even mind when he gave me the shots of numbing solution into my gums. He talked me through it the entire time and the whole process took less than 10 minutes from start to finish. My wisdom tooth was extracted and I'm now back to a full set of healthy teeth. I was given a bunch of gauze to put on the area where Dr. Baik extracted the wisdom tooth and it took 3 days for it to stop bleeding completely. I'm not going to lie. I was talking funny because I had a folded up piece of gauze in there. It was uncomfortable for a time but it all turned out okay in the end. And to all the rest of you who got all 4 of your wisdom teeth pulled at the same time-- Bravo, soldiers.. I was such a baby getting just one pulled. I can't even imagine what I would have looked like getting all of them done. read more

I have a lot of dental anxiety from less-than-great dentist expertiences over the years, so I am trepedacious when any work is done in my mouth. I originally came in to Dr. Baik's office from a friend's referral, trusting that the dr would at least be 'ok to work with.' More than 'ok to work with,' I have now been a patient of Dr. Baik's for the last year, and in that time he has made a considerable difference in the quality of my teeth and life! Dr. Baik is very knowledgeable and *extremely* patient--critical traits for someone affecting the way your mouth works. I came in expecting the worst, but Dr. Baik was reassuring and confident that things were better than they seemed and that he could help. He listened to my complaints and understood that my TMJ was majorly affecting my quality of life--something an ENT had suggested breaking & realigning my jaw to fix. Dr. Baik steadfastly held that breaking my jaw was wildly unnecessary. He suggested a bite splint, which I strongly argued against due to past experiences (my TMJ has destroyed a number of mouth guards in the past). He listened to my concerns and very gently nudged and persuaded me to the splint, answering my numerous questions along the way. Within a week of wearing the splint, I had begun to feel relief in my jaw and fewer headaches due to it--FINALLY something helped!! In only weeks Dr. Baik had given me relief that I'd sought for YEARS. After that, we began working on my teeth directly. Again, Dr. Baik was very reassuring & patient, explaining every step of the process in detail so I knew what was going to happen and why. He also came back with a suggestion of exactly ZERO root canals, where a prior dentist had said I needed 'several.' It became clear that Dr. Baik wants to do the work that's *needed* vs what he thinks he could make money on. This all helped reduce my dental anxiety considerably, but what about when it came time to actually work on my teeth? Supported by an *amazing* and friendly staff, Dr. Baik is super patient and understanding during procedures. To tune out the noise of my teeth being worked on, I wanted to wear headphones during the procedure, he said no problem. During my latest procedure, I had less-than-great headphones that fell out of my ear a couple times. He waited very patiently as I re-inserted them, giving me the time I needed to feel secure to move forward. He also talked to me occasionally through the procedure, making sure I was comfortable and checking if I needed a break. This patience and understanding helped me tremendously, lessening my anxiety and eliminating the feeling that I was just some schmoe the doctor was stuck working on. Dr. Baik has been my dentist for many years, going back to mid-2000s. Due to a severe medical situation 8 years ago, I was unable to use a dentist for a couple years; but once cleared, I resumed seeing Dr. Baik. The medical "pause" caused numerous dental issues which is why my review should be worth your attention. The dental needs required excellent attention to both my insurance coverage and what procedure needed to be done before another. All told, it was a year and a half+ process. Dr. Baik (and his staff) were well aware of my medical situation and could not have been more sympathetic or considerate of my situation. I am now very glad that I selected Dr. Baik over other nearby ones. First, I am very impressed with how courteous he and his staff are. They are amazing! I highly recommend Dr. Baik! I've been coming to this office for 6+ years and have been treated with excellence every time. Dr. Baik is honest, sincere and extremely knowledgeable. He clearly explains what's happening in that mouth of yours so there are no surprises. The staff is just as amazing. They're so welcoming and comforting, which is so necessary when visiting the dentist. Yes, there are semi-private rooms but it's not like your visiting your OBGYN so no big deal. Plus Dr. Baik always has a groovy radio station on, constantly spreading the good vibes! I just got two fillings here and my back teeth were extremely sensitive. Dr. Baik and team didn't rush and ensured I was completely numb before proceeding. This was a tricky filling as I knocked out part of my back teeth so both of the fillings needed to be perfectly placed or my bite would be so off, not cute. Dr. Baik handled it with ease and took his time. I can now chew and floss properly with no pain. He uses the latest technology and send apt reminders by text. Both of my parents see Dr. Baik and now my cousins are his patients! When it comes to family, we don't recommend just anybody so that's when you know he's the real deal. I had an emergent tooth infection some months back. I recently moved to San Jose and had no idea where to go. I suffer from extreme dental anxiety. But Dr Baik was so calming. I went ahead with the nitrous which I never had before. It really helped! Now I'm needing to have two root canals done this next week. I do not have dental insurance. But he has made a very wonderful program you can pay for if you are uninsured. It really helped with the cost saving % of procedures. I'm so happy I found Dr. Baik's office. Everyone here is wonderful! I had HORRIBLE wisdom teeth pain for months and kept postponing a visit to the dentist because I was afraid of the costs since I don't have any dental insurance. After doing some research, I found Dr. Baik's office and called since my pain was now unbearable and knew I couldn't wait any longer. They were able to get me an appointment next day. Day of my Apt: everyone was SO nice. The office is marked "closed" on the outside for everyone's safety but you just call and they will open the door for you. They only allow one person during the visit due to COVID-19 and that made me feel really safe. Everyone is wearing masks and sanitizing frequently too. I was a little embarrassed about my dental work since I hadn't seen the doctor in years but they made me feel so welcome and comfortable. After my x-rays, they let me know exactly what I needed and were upfront about costs, which I appreciated because I have been unemployed due to the virus. To be honest, I was expecting double of what I paid, so it was a nice surprise. On that same day, Dr. Baik was able to take my wisdom teeth out. In an hour, I was done. I was almost in disbelief about not experiencing any pain at all. I was sent home with a cute little kit with everything I would need to care for my teeth at home. I just got home from my follow up appointment that was scheduled exactly 8 days from when I got my wisdom teeth pulled. It was just to make sure everything has healed properly. I am so grateful to have found Dr. Dennis Baik when I did. I went months with excruciating pain + taking pain meds for weeks at a time, to now being completely pain-free and didn't need to pay a huge amount of money for this. Thank you so so much to you all! I was recently referred to Dr Baik's practice after my other dentist moved. It was a different experience. For my first visit they asked me questions regarding what I would like to improve about my teeth and gave me advice. After looking at my teeth he recommended me to get some teeth filled to prevent cavities. Like most people I was very nervous because I didn't know what to expect. When I came back (during COVID-19) they took a lot of extra safety precautions to secure our safety. They were very nice and welcoming. I didn't know how long the visit was going to be but it took only 40 minutes! It was very quick and painless. So.. I was taking a knot out of my dogs leash with my teeth..yea stupid I know, and I broke my front tooth.. this was on Sunday of a three day weekend, I called my dentist (Dr Baik) and left a message, that I needed to come in ASAP... If you are looking for a dentist that does composite veneers and laser gum contouring, look no further! Dennis and his staff did a fantastic job on my smile. I have had braces in the past, even wore a snap on smile, but even afterwards I was not happy with my smile and the shape of my teeth. After a consultation, the work took about a month or two to complete. It was worth it because he took his time to see what needed to be changed or improved, plus he let me write down anything that I saw or felt that needed to be adjusted. I ended up getting some minor laser gum reshaping and composite veneers on my upper arch, 6 teeth. I have also had a cleaning since then and man do they know how to make your mouth feel so clean and polished. I'll be referring all my family and friends here. read more
