I say handy because there's also a Budgens, but when…read moreI was looking for moisturising cream in there they didn't have any but Tesco did : ) There are two of those self-service checkouts, although the first time I came here I was a tiny bit drunk and didn't see them, and waited for ages for the one cashier dude to serve a much-drunker-than-me person, and then got all embarrassed when they pointed out I needn't have waited. Similar layout to other Tesco Expresses, and much tider than my local one in Leeds, and they sell donuts. Loves it.

This is the usual spot we run to for a quick takeaway ("take out") sandwich and crisps ("chips") to bring back to the office. In addition to coolers of sandwiches and salads, there are drinks and also some heat-at-home meals. The store has a decent selection of the other sorts of things you might need in a convenience store, ranging from health care to groceries to house cleaning chemicals. Prices are no higher than they are at the major superstore further away from the center of town. The sandwiches are okay, though far from the freshness of Pret. I tried the sushi and it was a valiant effort that sadly fell short of the mark. ATM outside and they efficiently accept credit cards as well as your Tesco clubcard scan.
