Over the last couple of years, my wife and I have have gotten into natural wine. Over the last couple years, I've developed a pantheon of natural wine-focused restaurants: places where I will 100% visit if I'm in town, no matter what.
We went to Barcelona a couple weeks ago, and Denassus is 100% on that list.
I noticed quite a few bottles behind the bar that I recognized, and without even speaking to the owner/lead server, he sat me down, told our group of four exactly what we were drinking that evening, and this began our wine journey. We had some amazing stuff, including a really nice cuvee from Marcel LaPierre, as well as a Gamay from Burgundy. The stuff we drank ranged from a bottle that was straight up juice to stuff that even the most traditionally-minded wine enthusiast would love.
Oh, and the food was fire! Especially loved the croquettes (we had two kinds, both were great), grilled squid, and the desserts.
SUPER passionate staff, amazing selection, great food. For me, this place is up there with some of my other favorite natural wine-focused places in Paris, including the Septime family, La Buvette, Yard, and Mokonuts read more
