It was the fastest pedicure ever -maybe 20 minutes. 1 coat of polish. Why did I pay for an upgrade? Makes me cringe to think what the basic one entails. I would give a zero stars review if I could. Lynn was my nail technician and she was amazing and nice. However the owner lady talks to the customers horribly. I have been going to this establishment for about a year now. I had to cancel one of my appointments because I was sick. From that point on the owner was very disrespectful in front of the whole salon telling me to just call and not make a future appointment because she "doesn't like to erase things on her a schedule." I'm sorry but life happens. Sometimes schedules need to be changed. I called ahead of time to change it. I am bummed that I will need to find somewhere else to go because Lynn was a very nice person. To begin; very LONG review but very honest and I've included photos of my pedicure and manicure for your viewing pleasure! To actually begin, a heads up. They want cash for payment. And they don't mention anything beforehand. So when you take your debit card to pay at the end of your service you cannot tip because they want cash. However that's not my issue. My issue is that I came in here for service that I cannot provide to myself. None the less, I am expecting the service I receive to be done well and in the correct standard period because you are a business and this is the service you provide. As you can see from the photos I have attached, my pedicure looks like a gunky, globby and streaky mess that is on my skin and poorly cut cuticles. They also scalded my feet with the wax they use for pedicures. As far as the dip manicure; my cuticles were not cut at all. That is what I am most irritated about. If you put dip and the polish on a nail without a cut cuticle and the polish for the dip overlaps the skin; after hand washing and showering for a few days the skin breaks free of the polish and will allow more moisture and wear between your manicure and your real nail ultimately resulting in a short lived manicure, not lasting anywhere near as long as they should and normally would. My nails were also filed LAST before the final coat of polish over my dip manicure. It was also the quickest amount of time I've ever spent in a nail salon for both a pedicure and manicure. Thoroughly disappointed in my experience. And at the end of it all they looked at me like I'm the idiot who didn't bring cash (in a plastic world). Never been there so how would anyone know you don't take anything but cash tips without you saying so beforehand and making it a point to show us the white paper sign on your checkout board that sits right next to multiple white papers of the same size. If you've read this far into this review I hope you take away that I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE to this salon. Save your after service in your car disappointment, anger, and or tears. Yes sometimes they don't look to great..but people mess up so it's a givin. They have always tried there best to fix any issues I have and wonderful service. They spend time, the pedicures are so relaxing and they take time to do a quality service. My nails always look perfect when I leave this salon. One thing that people might want to take into consideration... These technicians cannot help the shape and appearance of your feet or hands. They work with what they get, and they are always perfect. I have even taken a difficult pic in, for them to copy, and it looks exact. Don't let some of the negative reviews deter you. I have NEVER had a negative experience. I called back to speak to a manager and she refused to allow me to speak to him. I got a pedicure and a full set short French tip. while doing my pedicure she dropped the tools On the ground then picked it up and proceeded to use them. the as she tells me to go sit for my nails I waited an hour till I was told I can sit somewhere else. Just went to get my nails done yesterday and the older lady doing them is extremely rude. Acted like I was stupid, rushed through my nails, and was smacking my hand because SHE turned it the wrong way. My nails look terrible, there's bubbles in the acrylic. They are crooked, and so thick they just look awful. I made the appointment a week in advance, and they rushed ME but not the walk ins. Also huge chunks of acrylics left under my nails too. It was 9:30 on a Saturday they barley had people. Absolutely ridiculous and a waste of money. She cut them way shorter then wanted, my fingers nails have scans on the side of them. I got them done yesterday and they are already looking dingy. The white is way to thick. The bubbles, the thick acrylic. I have been a stay at home mom for 2 years so I haven't got my nails done in awhile and forgot nail shape names. She laughed because I didn't know and went on to talk in another language about me to her partner next to her. Real shady and sad speaking this is a job you paid money to learn to do So rude and disrespectful for absolutely no reason, I am paying YOU for a service. Try your hardest and use some respect when you talk to people, might help your business a little. 45$ for disgusting nails, could have went to Walmart and got stick ons for better price and look way better then these short fat white erasers chunks. I've gone to Dena's so many times and the last two times sealed the deal that I won't be going back. I got a pedicure and gel on my nails. My nails are spotty and I asked for rounded nails. I received probably three different shaped nails (square, round, coffin) and the ones that are round, aren't straight. To top it all off, I left the same time as another customer and she said there was a bug (possibly a roach) by her chair. They didn't use new nail clippers, sponges for the pedicure, or files. Went to Dena today for the first time on recommendation of my sis in law. Have to say best recommendation I ever had. Dena is a wonderful with nails. I had acrylics done with gel polish and designs on all for my daughter's. Dena was quick, attentive, and professional. I would recommend this place and it's owner Dena in a heartbeat!!! My wife has used their services many times. But this time was absolutely unacceptable. They ripped half her pinky nail off, still made her pay for her time there, and when confronted about it claimed it was not a big deal. They do not do things the safe and proper way. My feet feel 100 years younger after soaking in warm jet bath. Nails got clipped with much detail to remove dead skin and nails. The honey and milk lotion treatment is great choice in Winter to bring back life to skin. Extra massage to muscles including calves important for healthy blood circulation. Love coming to Denas Nail Salon because my schedule doesn't always allow me to make appointments easily so I prefer walk in appointments. They always fit me in somehow. I've seen reviews about their hasty service being unsatisfactory and while I agree some do rush a bit much, they always do an amazing job regardless. Tony is by far the best and most personable one I've dealt with yet. They do great work at a great price for pedicures and gel manicures from my personal experience. read more

I wish there was a less-than-one-star option. I went there last April for a gel mani; All I got was a sloppy messy gel, no mani; They guy was in a big rush because it was prom time and they were herding customers through like cattle, and in just a few days, my nails started lifting. After removing the gel (which was hard as concrete), my nails were yellow with black and white streaks underneath which I thought was a fungus; turns out it was not a fungus but most likely a horrible reaction to some kind of chemical they apparently use in their products. I'm now under a doctor's care because the skin under and around my nails is so damaged; calloused, cracking, peeling, and bleeding. This has been happening for 6 months now; it's very tender and painful, and I also have some numbness and tingling in my fingertips. Now I've found a wonderful licensed nail tech who has been in business for 28 years, and she and my doctor are helping me get my nails back to a healthy state (as healthy as they can be now. I'm hoping they aren't permanently deformed). I was even told by the professionals that it looked like there were actually chemical burns in the nail beds. DO your RESEARCH about the chemical Methyl methacrylate before going to ANY walk-in salon and DON"T make the MISTAKE I made!! And to the manager at this salon, please do not offer to "make things right" because I will never be back for any services there, and there is NOTHING you can do to make it right. I have been here once before and they did a very job that time. However when I went here today, they did an awful disgusting job. This is the worst acrylic nail set I have ever gotten in my entire life. The guy was doing a good job in the beginning but then he stopped listening to what I was saying. I told him to cut the nails shorter than what he did, he made them way to long. He did a very slopping paint job, he was rushing this part the entire time. It seemed like he was waiting for somebody to come and pick him up or come see him at work. He did not make this a relaxing manicure! This was terrible. The technicians here are not very skilled at all. I asked for a flower on a black and white back ground on each ring finger and those look pretty bad. The top coat they used, does not make my nails look shiny at all. in fact my nails look almost as a mate finish instead! These acrylic nails are way to thick. All in all, DO NOT GO HERE! I have always been a nail biter but decided to let my nails grown. I decided to go to Dena's nail salon because I had heard they do a great job. The first day my daughter and I went for mani pedis and it was a great experience for both of us. We have been back several times and will continue to do so. This was my first visit and I will never return. Went for a pedi/mani and the tech spent less than 40 minutes--total. Tech did my nails at the pedi chair standing up--bent over. Did one clear coat, no attention to cuticles or filing. Pedi not much better. No attention to anything with little or no rough heel attention. I have this service done on a monthly basis and needed to find a convenient location to my Illinois home and unfortunately I could have done a better job myself. I personally won't be going back here anymore. The past two times I have gone the owners husband has done my full set. The first time I asked for a stiletto shaped nail and brought in a photo and the second time I asked for a ballerina shaped nail and brought in a photo. Both times he had said something along the lines of "why do you want that shape?" In an unpleasant tone. And he said "well it won't look like that but maybe close" I said "no I want it to look just like this please." At the end my nails did not look how I wanted them and also my polish looks lumpy. Some edges of my nails are rounded while some are pointy. Don't get me wrong everyone there is friendly and nice but the lack of skill is what had made me decide to no longer return. If you're looking for a specific nail shape I would recommend going elsewhere. It's unfair to judge the entire shop solely on the work of one nail tech but this is just my opinion. This was almost a month ago and it is still not healed. She then gave me a paraffin treatment, which was so hot I was almost certain I would have burns. read more
