With lunch entrees at eighteen euro and older customers dressed up pretty nice, it's safe to assume Antigoon is one of the fancier spots in Antwerp. Quiet and stylish, they specialize in pasta and Dutch tapas.
Because I hate pasta, and wanted an introduction to all things Belgian, I had fun with my tapas plates. My favorite was by far the sardines. Salty, oily goodness. I sat there shoveling the silvery morsels with the toothpicks given as utensils. The dry salami was also exceptional, and the prosciutto was alright, with just a bit too much rubbery fat on the cut. I totally loved the manchego cheese and bread.
Like many places in the region, beverages will run you a bit much. 200 ml pop for about 2,20 can add up if you're super thirsty. You also have a considerable amount of local libations at your disposal. Great place for a snack. read more
