My little queens were tired of the same playgrounds. My bro's yelp review and pix impressed us all…read more We parked right in front and my kids (ages 3 and 5) ran to the castle-themed jungle gyms and had fun and freedom for the next 2 hours. There were so many structures that all the children had plenty of personal space. Special features included a roller-based slide, a zip-line, and a rope climb. It's an excellent playground I can add to the rotation. Come out and play! NOTES/TIPS: **Picnic tables, plenty of benches, and 2 porta-potties on-site. **If the main parking lot is full, additional parking is 200 ft. away. **The playground is next to a basketball court, baseball field, and soccer field.

Benches for eating are at the entrance located close enough to watch your kids playing basketball or on the playground. This playground is neat... truly a castle inspired theme. Great for playing peekaboo with your toddlers with many mazes to get lost in and still be sure your child is safe and can't fall out the sides (too easily). There's also a slide that can be climbed which my son was very intrigued with, once he got to the top he'd jump on the big boy slide and come out the other end, he's 14 months so there's really so much for him to explore. There's also bigger slides for older kids, different monkey bars to climb, kiddie and big kid swings, little castles with benches and tables to picnic in, and plenty of benches surrounding the playground for parents to hang out in. We lived up to our mantra: PLAY HARD NAP HARD! Baby was knocked out as soon as we got in the car so I must say it was a good day. My name is Francis and I approve of this playground. While it gets pretty busy around 4pm, it's often nearly empty. The fenced playground has wood chips covering the ground with an adjacent paved parking lot that fits about 20 cars, 2 large structures with several slides and climbing or hanging options (one for younger kids and the other for older children), a set of swings for babies, older kids, and children who need full neck support (with a harness and crotch strap), 2 flowers in which kids can sit and spin, and a bouncy structure for sitting with a dinosaur and car theme. A soccer/softball field area sometimes hosts organized games for children but otherwise, can be a great place for babies to experience the feeling of grass under their feet and for toddlers to run around in a big, open space or kick a ball. Since we're usually here for a while, I typically bring some water and snacks for my daughter who enjoys them at some picnic tables in a grassy area nearby. A bathroom's accessible in the nearby Community Center through the parking lot area during the day or through the front doors after hours. With all these features, kids won't want to leave.

What a great family, friendly beach. As others have mentioned, there is a parking lot right on site…read morewith immediate access to the beach for only $10 per vehicle. And $10 more per adult. If you have a car full of kids it's a great deal. Unlike many other of the jersey beaches that do not have food without a big boardwalk this one has a concession stand where you can grab snacks, ice cream, burgers, fries etc. Also showers and bathrooms. There is also a playground area however at this point it has been torn down as they are revamping it. You can also choose to sit closer to the hotels which are down towards the right where you can take advantage of the staff walking around selling alcoholic beverages to sip on for the beachgoers. However, the main part of the beach is super quiet with no riffraff and loud music blasting. Just families and friends enjoy enjoying company and the water. I did not notice any trash in the sand or in the ocean, which is a huge plus. Lifeguards were very on top of it as when we went a couple of days ago there was a strong current, and people kept getting swept off to the side of the flags. Will definitely be returning over and over again this summer.

Restrooms are available as well as a shower/rinsing area. There is a limited food option from the concession area and there isnt a "boardwalk" so you just enjoy the beach and playground within the vicinity. the playground though is amazing! its quite clean and i love that they have shaded areas to sit and relax. The play areas itself has no shade at all though so can get quite hot. Some porta potties available.

Oh, boy. I can't tell you how many times I'd been to 'the Oval' having grown up in Kearny (and if…read moreyou were a fellow delinquent - you know all about "Fudd" not too far away, either). Mostly playing (and watching) soccer. Sometimes trying to fall into a routine of jogging the perimeter of the place to get in shape (but immediately hitting the Arlington Diner after our workout which negated all that hard work). The town put all sorts of money to rebuild, revamp, revitalize Gunnel Oval and it's amazing the transformation that's taken place. (To say it's night and day wouldn't really convey how different today's Oval is from what I remember.) Maybe six baseball fields. Three soccer fields (and it looks like some of the baseball fields can be 'retrofitted' to a soccer match). An impressive skate-park (skateboarding used to be illegal and the police were not cool when they caught you on the street with your board, let me tell ya). Two "American Ninja" kinda-sorta gym/workout parts. Basketball courts. A few tennis courts. Seriously cool jungle gym playground for the tots. A quality interconnected sidewalk/walkway (for getting to/from the various spots inside of the complex). The fields are pristine (growing up you just had to deal with patches of grass and a lot of dirt/mud and all sorts of loose rocks and uneven terrain that would totally mess with your game). There isn't enough parking when all the fields are being used and of course the entitled parents do not care to park illegally and mess with the cars that are in actual/legit spots. (Not sure if the bathrooms were still open/available - they seemed fenced off on my most recent visit.)
