Super flavorful and so loaded I ate off it for two, maybe three days. Totally worth it if you're hungry or want leftovers. The elote though... eh. It tasted like canned corn, not fresh off the cob, and I actually had to season it myself at home -- so that's saying something. The line was long when we went in, but it moved at a decent pace. I've got my eye on the quesadilla for next time. Anyone have a go-to order here? I'm down to try something new.

The restaurant is decorated with old school, retro decor. The place was clean and they have a few seats available for indoor dining. The food was just okay though. The honey lemon pepper wings were decent, not mind blowing. The waffle was soft and tasted like a good waffle. The syrup was perfect with it. The strawberry butter was way too sweet!! It was inedible for me and cold so it wouldn't spread at all. Glad I tried it but not a place I need to return to.

If Nick's was in Atlanta it wouldn't get four stars, but it's the best American-style fried chicken…read moreI've had in Germany, so I'm ranking it based on that not on some farcical comparison to some the places I've gotten the good stuff closer to the American South (see, for example Hominy Grill, Fred Chason's, Thelma's, etc etc etc). Service was friendly enough for me, again the fair comparison is to other imbiss places in Germany, none of which tend to even be in the same sport as a restaurant with true southern hospitality, let alone in the same league. The fried chicken has a thinner batter than KFC, but frankly I appreciate that, ditto for the MUCH lower salt content (aka my mouth wasn't literally burned by the salt concentration). The chicken was still moist inside to boot, and the cole slaw was plain but not too mayo-y, which is another pet peeve for me. I wouldn't drive from Frankfurt for Nick's, but I'd get my deep-fried fix on again if I'm in the area.
