I always wear slippers in every hotel room and was so glad I did here because there were quite a few sticky spots all over the room. The desk chair (on wheels) had obviously been ruining the paint on the wall where it must have rubbed against it. The bathroom floor was dirty in the corners and there was hair on the floor in front of the toilet, which looked like it hadn't been scrubbed in a while.

We were pleasantly pleased and impressed! Dreamy Victorian/country decor and design. It's spacious and has a neat history! -Interesting use of closets to create bathrooms too! Lynne made us feel at home. She welcomed us at the door upon arrival, gave us a tour, we visited a little, then she gave us our privacy to enjoy. We had a loosely-planned schedule that took us to Ida Grove for wine tasting, a terrific meal, sight seeing and some hiking.  In the evening, we made a point to spend time on the porch at the B&B to sip some wine in some pleasant June weather. It was relaxing! Lynne, knowing these plans from our conversation upon arrival, was so thoughtful and left out two wine glasses along with a corkscrew to open our bottle of wine that evening. Breakfast on Sunday morning was delicious and delightful at a table next to paned windows overlooking the side yard.  We couldn't have been happier! We now have an amazing memory that we will share and tell for years to come! We think the price was very affordable! In fact, we plan to come back in the fall. We highly recommend the Inn at Battle Creek!

From the moment we arrived, the service was beyond hospitable. The temperature was -19. We went to the room and the heater was working so hard it was screaming! We asked for a different room because we knew we could not sleep with the noise. The night clerk immediately switched us. Although the heater in the new room was not quite as noisy, it was still pretty bad. The next morning, we asked to be moved once again. Brent said he would go into every room to find one that was quiet. He found one. The day and night were still bitterly cold, but the heater was quiet. Two days later, we wanted to have a family gathering since we had not seen all the siblings for several months. We asked for recommendations of nearby places that we could get about 25 people together for lunch and visiting. Again, the Boulders staff came to the rescue. Once the breakfast area was cleaned, they said we could use that area and the beautiful lobby area to gather our family. It was extraordinary. I cannot give the ratings they deserve! You will not stay at a better place as far as friendly people and people who are willing to do almost anything to make your stay the best.

Staying here for a family function in nearby Alta. Not much to do in the area. Pluses include friendly staff, an indoor pool, free continental breakfast, and a Walmart across the street. The room we are staying in has 2 queen beds. Worn out carpeting, musty smell, pillows that are yellow and/or stained under the pillow cases. Yuck! On the bright side, it has an in room fridge and microwave. Shower and sink areas are nice. We stopped by King's Pointe Resort to have lunch while driving around Storm Lake. It's beautiful and clean in there. Had I known, I would've booked a room there instead!

Lori, the manager was very accommodating, and when we arrived, we found out our room was not on ground level (We had to carry a lot of luggage from the car), so they moved us to a beautiful, ground level corner room with windows that overlooked the golf course. After a hard day of travelling, it was exactly what we needed. Quiet, peaceful, and very comfortable. The staff always seemed to have a smile on their face and they gave great recommendations for the local restaurants. They also had a restaurant on site that was open from early afternoon to late at night. I was surprised by the quality and quantity for what you paid. Breakfast was decent, waffles, cereal, fruit, yogurt, oatmeal, eggs, bacon or sausage (it looked like they alternated between days) baked goods and a little coffee bar at the front. They ran out of eggs when we came out for breakfast, but one of the front desk workers immediately refilled the tray when we expressed disappointment that we missed it. The surrounding area is very green and lush, and I enjoyed the little birdhouse that was next to the entrance. Highly recommend.
