I have no idea, but the toilet is working fine now. While he was here for the toilet repair I had Mike give me a quote for a water-powered sump-pump backup. I was prepared to pay whatever the cost and have no idea (again) if the $1750 I paid for it was "a good price," but the job is done and the peace of mind I now have is worth the cost of installation. Mike is fast to respond, local, and follows-through on his promises. All the work was done promptly and I wouldn't hesitate to use Mike again in the future.

It makes me sad to write this review, but I'm so aghast at the treatment my mother received from…read moreLynch, I feel I have no other avenue for recourse. Since moving to our current house 10 years ago, we have used Lynch for multiple plumbing issues, big and small. They have always done a good job and we have been very happy with them. After building an addition onto our house for my mother, we had a problem with water pressure to the shower head in her bathroom. We had Lynch come take a look and the first answer was that it could not be fixed. We had them look again (this time the son) and then it was a "maybe". My mother gave Lynch the paperwork detailing the model of her shower head but then never heard back from them. After weeks (months?) she decided she needed to move on with a different plumber, so called to get her paperwork back. She was told by the person she spoke to that he called her 3 times (no record of any calls on her phone or voicemails), so she asked him for her paperwork back. Today we received a slip from the post office telling her that she can pick up an envelope at the post office from Lynch and pay $7.00 for postage. Yep, that's right folks. They did not have the decency to call my mother back or simply drop her paperwork in our mailbox (they are 2.5 miles away from us). Now, my elderly and movement-restricted mother has to make a trip to the post office - which does not have a dedicated parking lot - so she can pick up these papers. This was mean spirited and spiteful on the part of Lynch and I will never use them again. Furthermore, I will tell anyone who asks about their abysmal treatment of my mother.

They have held up beautifully for years. He also installed a new heating system that is fantastic. Best of all, when something goes wrong--usually a leak but also a difficult-to-turn knob or once the heat went out after a big storm) he arrives like a knight in shining armor to diagnose, repair and reassure. He also does preventive assessments to head off problems before they happen--something that is especially helpful in an older home. We count ourselves lucky to be on Marty's client list!

He had to replace old piping, clean up holes into the crawlspace and replace fittings and we both had to maneuver/"massage" the new one in place. Of course he got it installed and running perfectly. My wife is happy, so i'm happy. It seems like plumbers are impossible to get a hold of in Media and Marty actually returned phone calls and set up appointments that he didn't miss, which is more than i can say for other places in Media and the surrounding area. Couple that with great work at a good price and going above and beyond when doing the work, I will be using Gildea for all my plumbing work in the future.
