My friend, Hailey, and I are such fans of their beers and we were lucky to get a tour of their brewery facility. Service was quick and the staff is super friendly. Not sure if we would have ever gone to this place given its somewhat out of the way location in an industrial park except that a friend of a friend was performing here. On a very hot Saturday afternoon we made our way to this location not too far off the Beltline. Fortunately there was just enough shade outside that the tables and chairs were out of the sun to watch the band. Delta doesn't have a very attractive outdoor space but that is not unlike other small microbreweries around here. They had quite a few beers to choose from though most were not my taste. I did settle on their German pils which was quite good. My wife opted for a kombucha that she liked. They do have a number of non-alcoholic choices too and even a few mixed drinks... Given it was their version of Octoberfest they had a food vendor outside and I understand they often have food trucks because I am not sure what other food choices they have beyond a tombstone-like pizza I saw someone eating. We didn't spend anytime inside but it looked like a typical microbrewery with high top tables and lots of games. read more

Stopped by for Wednesday trivia and it was a super fun atmosphere. Staff are warm and inviting, i also loved the lab decor that perfectly complements their craft beers. Lots of larger tables (some are literal lab benches) which were great for a big group. We started with the cider and loved the bright notes and flavors. Also ordered pizza (it's frozen from Salvatore's) which you cook yourself in their small ovens. I thought this was a cool concept! The staff were knowledgeable and passionate about the beers. Then had the blueberry blonde which was wonderful and had a lot of depth. Overall, Delta is a great, inclusive space. What a spectacular place. Tons of space, fantastic beer, food truck and small menu service. Everything about this place screams, grab some friends and have a great time. The beers are really wonderful and have a great variety to them. I loved the blueberry açaí gose and loved all the eclectic decor! Can't forget about the event space. If you rent it out you can set up pickle ball, corn hole, and be in the exclusive brewing space overall! Beers were great! Loved the atmosphere and ownership style of having employees well paid instead of relying on tips. Tips are still appreciated and they donate the funds to different organizations throughout the area on a rotating basis. The fruited sour was on point, the other was too plain/basic. IPAs were good. Located in an industrial area, off the main roads, is the "lab". We stopped in a Sunday just after they opened at 12 noon , and within 30 minutes the place had many customers. There was one server and she offered suggestions, and kept up with all the orders. We tried a flight and the beers are served in little beakers, so cute. I love this place! Delta Beer Lab has delicious brews with a nice rotating selection as well as some that are always on tap. I really like that you can order a taster which comes in this cute little beaker. I have enjoyed everything I have sampled here. Sometimes they have a food truck or you can buy a pizza to cook in their pizza ovens. The bathrooms are all gender which are fabulous and they have doors that run the length of the stall. We have a lovely visit to Delta Beer Lab on a Saturday afternoon. They have two bake your own options- pizza and giant pretzels- and we went for the pretzels which had 2 delicious dipping sauces. There is lots of seating- bar, indoor tables, and outdoor tables- providing many options. They also have lots of puzzles and games for kids and adults alike which is fun. The space was very clean, and the staff were all wonderful and provided great suggestions. I also took 2 four packs of their rootbeer to go and it was absolutely delicious. The next time I'm up in Madison I'll be stopping in either to visit or take some to-go beverages home with me. Highly recommend! read more

Came here during a weekend trip with my husband who had a flight (pictured). Good theming with the beakers as glasses. This place also had some good options for people who do not drink alcohol and also had food which was a plus or you can also bring your own food. Great beer, fun atmosphere! Love the theme of their tap room. You can build your own flight by purchasing however many "taster" sized beers you want and they're served to you in beakers. We got a taster of all 6 beers on tap. I'm an IPA fan and enjoyed all 3 of the IPAs we got (West Coast IPA, Red IPA, New England / Hazy IPA). My personal favorite was the Hazy IPA. My BF was a big fan of the Coffee-infused Brown Ale, which is infused with coffee roasted at Kin Kin Coffee, a local roaster. Side note, they have signage to inform patrons that they pay their staff fair wages so no tipping necessary. read more

Delta Beer Lab has a really cool interior. It looks like a science classroom. The glasses for tasters in a flight are tiny beakers, so that's pretty cool. I thought the hidden TV behind the chalkboard was the coolest. I think they have a really interesting (genuine use of the word "interesting" here, not the Midwest form) offering of beers. Some beers seems more experimental in nature, which I'm sure is intentional. It's worth going to try something you've never had before. It is a little disappointing that there aren't that many food options nearby! The pizza didn't really speak to me when I was there, since it was a DIY bake the pizza kind of situation - something I can do at home. I appreciate that they're trying to have a space for doggos! I've always liked that about the breweries in the area. Being able to bring my dogs is a plus! read more

WOW! Interesting concept: brew a selection of beers that taste like the style they are. US brewers take a note. Seriously every beer was on point. Even if it was a style not up my personal ally, it was still a quality representative of the beer type. That is more rare than one would think. As I tell my international friends, "The US brews the best beer in the world now; unfortunately we brew the worst beer in the world now." This is an example of the best. After a flight of all, I honestly didn't feel I could go wrong with any. Chill place. Needs some outdoor seating, which they are apparently working on. No tipping, which is great for all concerned. We grabbed our food from the food truck and then went inside to get our beer. The entrance is a little narrow for social distancing, but there is plenty of space inside. I tried their strawberry rhubarb gose and the porter and both were very good. Tried to tip, and they said they don't take tips but we could contribute to their nonprofit organization of the month, which is great. They also have a great all genders bathroom setup. I visited Delta Beer Lab as part of my hobby of visiting craft breweries. I noticed immediately that it was a very spacious and innovative environment matching the theme of a lab. They are also very obvious in their signage about their beliefs in gender inclusivity and support of reproductive rights. I sat at the bar (black and with no clutter) and was served quickly. As a fan of Star Trek I was able to notice the Vulcan stoic personality of my server who was purely no nonsense in her job. The other male bartender was funny and acted to be her McCoy in lightening the mood. Thank you. Your joke in response to the request for a baby chair & conversation was appreciated. The beer was very good. I liked the Golden Ale most. I also liked how they were served in beakers for my flight. Cool stickers. REALLY GREAT BEER! We were greeted straight away and had our first beer within 3 minutes of entering the space. We grabbed a couple of seats at the bar and ended up sitting next to Speedy. She was very friendly and was informational about their beers and gave us some great info. I love that they pay a living wage to their employees and don't need to survive on tips. Any tips are thrown into a community jar for all to share. The price per beer is a little higher than other places, but the living wage principal is one of the reasons I'll be back again and again. I love that they source their ingredients very thoughtfully and use local products to promote other community businesses. This is an important practice to garner community roots. It's a perfect way to give back to the community that supports you too. We chatted with Speedy about producing a low carb beer for those of us that want a tasty beverage, but not all the carbs landing around our waistline. The Lab is right off a biking trail and there's lots of us cyclists who love to stop in during a ride for a cool beverage. A low carb beverage option would be great for this occasion. Or, you may want to have a couple of beverages on a Friday night. If there was a low carb option, you wouldn't have to feel that guilty to have that second beer. Low carb beer tends to be kinda flavorless, but I just know that The Lab could do one very well. They have some good beer chops and I'm hoping that they think outside the box with the low carb beer idea. I've got my fingers crossed that I'll see one soon on tap! Ya know, I struggled between a 4 and 5 star review because I like to be sparse with my five-stars, but I honestly can't find much at all to complain about here! Five-star worthy! I came here after an exhausting day out and about, and was so pleasantly surprised to have dark beer options! The space is pretty large with an industrial minimalist type decor mixed with your 8th grade science lab classroom. It's quite neat. The staff was incredibly knowledgeable about the beers they brewed. Also fantastic that you can order three different size options for your beer so you can have a little bit of everything if you so choose! They seem very dedicated to the craft here. After we sat down at the bar, we noticed some staff members doing something with a microscope down at the end of the bar. They explained that they were testing their yeast to make sure it was in good shape to use. Very awesome. Bartenders won't accept tips because they earn a "living wage" and any tips left are donated to charity. That was somewhat refreshing to hear. Delta Beer Lab is a wonderful place to visit with good beer and a commitment to their craft and their community. Go visit them! read more

You'll have a difficult time finding a craft brewery with higher standards - in production, overall quality, and simply being good humans. Pio's commitment not only to his craft, but also to the greater community, continues to amaze and inspire. Tips are not accepted as staff is paid a living wage. Every month Delta partners with a non-profit to bring awareness to their cause and assist in fundraising. From your first step in the space you feel included and welcome. And it's not a marketing gimmick - his passion is obvious. I admit I'm not an avid beer drinker, but I've always found a wide variety of beers I enjoy every time I visit. Pizza is also available (and delicious), and it seems like there's a consistent rotation of events on the calendar. Just really great things, all around.
