After our minivan died last fall we were looking for an spare/emergency vehicle vehicle and…read moresomething to haul stuff. So after a few weeks saw that they had an 04 F150 with 100k miles. Mechanically it seems good, took it out for a drive on street and highway and everything worked well, brakes are good as is steering. That being said the cars they have are in good shape but have little things that need fixed. On the Ford I knew I had to fix exhaust as pipe had broken and also odometer was intermittent (but that's a known issue with the 97-04's) I did work myself for about $35 and the time to take speedometer cluster out which is easy. The AC is out as well, but i can get that fixed next year i don't mind sweating a bit. After we bought I also took it to my father-inlaw to look over as he has 40 years experience working on cars he said it was pretty solid truck. They don't really deal on price but are priced at the bottom of blue book from what I could see so that was fine. And the other big name dealers around here were charging $3k more for a similar trucks that had rusted out rockers/ fenders with 70k more miles, this truck does not have the rust and was pretty well taken care of by first owner. Even though they don't have carfax there are ways to find out about vehicle history for free which I did. Do your homework and know what you want, we would come back again for another car. Was easy to work with Jim. Also if you use a credit card they will charge you 2.5% to cover the credit card fee. Also no checks, just cash/debit./credit card

Moreover, when I went in to get it the guy who sold me the car wouldn't even come out to face me; sat in the other room and sent his assistant out to give me the title. Due your due diligence with this place and any vehicle you think of buying from them. Better yet, just shop elsewhere.

Within minutes of delivery, we identified multiple serious issues that were immediately obvious: - Rust-through in the floor and body panels (not surface rust--actual perforation) - Exhaust leak audible from inside the vehicle - Windshield wipers not functioning - Brake system concerns identified shortly after - Cooling system issues, including combustion gases present - Battery not properly secured (missing tie-down) - Four different size/mismatched tires on the vehicle We also found that the passenger-side quarter panel contains expanding foam, which raises concerns about prior concealed damage. These issues were documented immediately and later confirmed through independent inspections by a repair shop, a body shop, and a Ford dealership. Combined repair costs are approximately $6,700, with additional potential costs depending on engine and exhaust repairs. These are not minor or hidden issues--many of them were visible or apparent right away and directly affect the safety and usability of the vehicle. The vehicle has now been unusable for over a month. We made multiple good-faith attempts to resolve this directly, including offering both a repair contribution or returning the vehicle. After providing a clear deadline, we have not received any response. We have since had to pursue formal complaints and a loan dispute due to the lack of communication. If you are considering purchasing remotely, I would strongly recommend having any vehicle independently inspected before relying on representations.-

However, a number of other items have continued to fail within the first 200 miles or were not working upon delivery. 1) Motorized seat functions in both front seats 2) damaged & leaking radiator hose 3) leaking wiper fluid hose in roof 4) failed sunroof motor 5) missing second key. These items total an additional $8,000 worth of issues. Even with the "settlement" considered, I would stay away from Tradewinds.**** If you are considering purchasing a vehicle from Tradewinds Motor Center and expect it to be inspected and free of major defects, I strongly advise you to look elsewhere. Tradewinds sold me a vehicle that had its emissions equipment removed and, consequently, could not pass emissions testing. This major defect was not disclosed to me prior to purchase or in the purchase paperwork. Upon delivery (I was an out-of-state buyer), the check engine light was illuminated, and the vehicle leaked coolant all over my garage and driveway. Immediately, I scanned the vehicle using an OBDII scanner, and emissions-related codes appeared. I spoke with Tim Campbell, the General Manager, over the course of three weeks. He finally committed to paying for me to take the vehicle to an OEM-licensed dealership for diagnostics. The OEM-licensed dealership produced a report indicating that the catalytic converters were missing and a coolant hose needed to be replaced. After I spoke with Tim and offered to send him the report, he informed me that the owner of Tradewinds, Brian Farajipour, had rescinded the offer to pay for diagnostics and was also unwilling to cover any of the repairs required to pass emissions testing in my state. I am now forced to pay $6,200 for repairs in order to operate my vehicle legally. Used car dealerships are plentiful; there are absolutely far better options to consider than Tradewinds Motor Center.

Not trustworthy! Avoid at all cost. Before the ink was dry as I was half an hour down the road all…read morethe check engine lights appeared on. I'm sure the codes were cleared momentarily to manipulate the sale. At the time of the sale, I purchased the extended warranty and Next Step was pushy about their shop doing the repairs. The car was with them for months often on because the repairs were so poorly done. The Audi dealership said upon the initial inspection after I purchased the vehicle, reported the repairs would exceed the value of the car, keep in mind this was shortly after the purchase because the check engine lights were on. The car was inspected by 2 independent mechanics after Next Steps "New Engine" installment and the overwhelming report is that the NEXT STEP should never touch a vehicle again. Bolts were missing parts were put in the wrong place, hoses weren't connected properly. The list goes on and on it was about a 10 page detailed report from each in evaluator. The independent mechanics were disgusted that NEXT STEP would take advantage of a customer because Audi prides itself on brand loyalty rather than making a quick slimy sale. Don't walk away from this place, RUN. It's more like NEXT "MISTAKE" rather than NEXT STEP.

Once in Maryland I had to change the tires as they were bald and Matt refused to replace them before purchase. Then I had the car inspected at the local Mercedes' dealer and it had a major oil leak that had to be repaired in addition to all the maintenance required at 60k miles. Next step Auto Sales does not service their vehicles before selling them. Their goal is to stick you with maintenance costs and not take any liability for the condition of their cars before selling them. The Mercedes' dealer quoted 4K worth of maintenance required after inspection. I purchased the car for 27k. Steve the dealer owner denied the oil leak even though Mercedes' listed this issue on their inspection report. Steve also refused to honor the dealer warranty that came with the vehicle purchase which includes the engine and was quoted for 90 days / 3000 miles. I would not recommend buying a car from this shade tree dealer. Customer satisfaction is not on their radar at all! They just want to get your money and leave you stuck with a poorly maintained vehicle. Very sad. Below are pictures of the air filter and cabin air filter of the Mercedes' that they claimed to have serviced before the sale. Laughable to say the least. These guys should change their dealer name to "3 steps back auto sales"! If it was not for them having the particular car I wanted with the options I was looking for I would not even have bought a car from a non factory sponsored dealer like this one. Not hard to see the difference in customer service and the vehicle condition when using a low budget shady dealer such as this one. Stay away!

Anyone who bought from these scum read below as I am sure you are about to be PO'd when you see…read morethey most likely did the same to you! Contact OHIO ATTORNEY GENERAL/BBB to complain and hopefully get something back. My wife Pam bought a car from them a week ago and since then found they are scumbag scammers taking advantage of people. Josh B told her that she had to put down $4000 in order to get approved, or she could put down $2k, but she had to purchase a warranty for $2950, and "Gap Insurance for $950 to cover if totaled and insurance did not pay full loan amount. I told him loan companies do not make you buy warranties, and he insisted they did or she would not get loan. We decided just to get it and move on. He lied 4 times costing us like $7700 in damages A few days later I called "Credit Acceptance Corp" of which the representative assured me it was the dealer was the one that decided that and the insurance, and told her to cancel it. She understood and every penny. She stated the dealer would get all fee's from the payment of these. She also stated the dealer was the one to say how much money down as well. That was why he said they only accepted cash down payments so I would not cancel payment, so he obviously lied about that as well. Then I look at the total price value of the car, and he increased it from $10395 to $11995, or $1600+ higher without even telling us. I called and asked Omar A, the GM and son of owner, told me the value was increased by the finance company also because of her bad credit and they did it. NO, I called them and they told me already that it was you, not them. He offered to take car back, I said no way, you are not getting off that easily. Sad to know these people are in business doing this to all those unaware people, forcing $1000's in extra costs and fees for things not even needed. Last but not least, the rate of interest of %19.99 APR is negotiated by both dealer and finance company, of which the dealer pushes for as high as possible because they get a big portion of that. They have not heard the last from me!
