While some bugs are to be expected, there were bugs in the fridge, on light fixtures, and crawling around the floor. Most importantly, we found it very hard to get a good nights sleep due to all of the noise. The fire alarm went off two mornings in a row, multiple times per day. One was at 5:30 am. One was at 7:30am. Way too early for vacation! Staff said there was nothing they could do about it but made it sound like this does happen regularly due to a sensitive fire system and guests that smoke, kitchen cooking, etc. We also were in a hallway with a door and it was slamming open and shut all night with traffic. As far as the onsite restaurants, I would recommend the HH at the speakeasy Breakers Roar Tiki Bar (6-8). The coffee shop Virgin Islands Coffee Roasters was overpriced and only average. The Mexican restaurant El Leon had good drinks, and was ok for breakfast but they really had a hard time with food allergies/modifications. Good location on the boardwalk, we had to drive around to find street parking a couple times and construction closes the roads nearby frequently, but it's nice to walk. Expect many restaurants and shops nearby to be closed if it's a weekday, or no cruise ship around, etc.

Warren went beyond the call of service every day for our group, Senior Golfers of America. There were 18 people with us, and Warren answered every one of our calls. He took us back and forth all over the island and was cheerful, professional, and super-helpful. Two different people left their sunglasses at two different places, and he went all the way back for them. Really, it was pretty amazing. Also, Warren's adorable son Javyn (don't call him Jamie!) drove us to and from the airport. It was a treat to be with a young person just starting out in the business. Senior Golfers of America, and I personally, highly recommend this business.

We were advised to secure our rental before we retrieved our luggage, as it takes some time for luggage to be removed from the plane. This proved to be good advice! The rental agent was friendly and polite, filling our reserved order for a Toyota Camry. Our friends had visited the island one month previous, and told that a jeep type vehicle was really not necessary. The vehicle was in good order, basic, but very satisfactory for our purposes. We drove the car all over the island, from our hotel in Fredericksted, to Christiansted, through back roads, through a rain forest, to different beaches and restaurants. One important word of caution. Roads on St Croix are everywhere marked with potholes, so caution is the word! We drove a bit slower than we normally would, fearing we might damage the vehicle, blow a tire etc. Another important caution: drive on the left side of the road! What a relief to have Marjan constantly reminding to "stay left". Our vacation over, we returned the vehicle to Centerline, and a shuttle immediately drove us to the airport. Given the very competitive rate for the rental, the quality of the vehicle, the excellent service we received from the Centerline staff, we would definitely recommend this rental agency. It was a terrific day in so many ways. The catamaran is clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. It was very stable on the water and there was plenty of room for all of us. We had 18 people on our trip, but it could have easily handled 30. The boat has two ladders in the back so getting in and out of the water was relatively easy. We made three stops, the first being Turtle Beach, on the leeward side of Buck Island. They do this stop first to give everyone some beach time (it is a gorgeous beach), and also to allow everyone to practice our snorkeling in a more protected and supervised environment. This also allows the crew to determine who might need extra help during the reef part of the tour. The second stop is on the windward side of Buck island, where the reef is. My wife grew up here in St. Croix, but I had never been to Buck Island National Monument. It was nothing short of spectacular. I have never seen anything like it. The reef was teeming with beautiful fish and the reef itself is like an underwater mountain range that you are flying over. Simply amazing. Those that needed help to navigate the reef were given the assistance they needed. We had two non-swimmers on board and yet they were able to safely enjoy most of the experience. Sienna led the way for the experienced snorkelers while Jackie hung back to help folks that needed more guidance. Once we were all safely back on board, they started serving "Mutiny Punch"(fruity vodka drink), in addition to non-alcoholic punch (water is available throughout). We then we were off to Big Beard's private beach, back on St. Croix where a neat little sheltered picnic area was situated just steps off the beach. Captain Peter started cooking hot dogs, regular burgers and veggie burgers, in addition to Mahi (the fish varies on each trip). The food attracted the local wildlife, including several friendly cats and dozens of curious mongooses. After about 90 minutes or so, we all got back on board and headed back to Christensted harbor. One of the things that really stood out was the engagement and dedication of the crew. They all love the island, love the Big Beard organization, and are super-focused on the guest experience and made the day even more enjoyable seeing them work together as a team. Thank you for a great day, Peter, Jackie and Sienna! It was a great value and a great experience. My wife & I cannot recommend this excursion more enthusiastically!
