On our recent trip to St. Croix, three out of four American flights were on-time, and none cancelled. Our final segment had a 90 minute delay, not bad considering the current level of airline travel carnage. We took American because JetBlue cancelled our flight the day before our trip. I used to like JetBlue, they were one of my top choices. Fast forward to today, and they are literally on the bottom of the list. It's ironic they want to purchase Spirit, as if two wrongs will make a right!
American seems like a huge upgrade from JetBlue these days. I wanted to speak to AA customer service, which provides an automated call back system (as does Alaska Air), so you don't have to wait on hold. They estimated a 50 minute call back, which was very accurate. JetBlue had a two hour hold last time I tried to call - and no automated callback! That's why I prefer both American and Alaska Air over JetBlue. And if you want to take an island vacation, you typically need to fly!
