Moved up from Los Angeles to get away from traditional teaching. My 8 year old daughter and 11 year old son attend the day school. The main draw was the fact that students are not taught to pass tests but can only move forward when they can show they can apply what they learned. It's called proficiency based teaching. My kids can move quickly on some subjects while taking a little more time on others. I first attended the Delphian School for the summer camp and loved it so much, I had to convince my parents to let me stay for the next school year. In that first summer, I made so many lifelong friends, in fact, I recently reconnected with one I hadn't seen in 11 years! The kids who attend Delphi are from across the globe. I can name friends from Korea, Saudia Arabia, India, Mexico, Canada, Japan, France and Switzerland. In that same summer, I addressed the gaps of my mathematical education filling in the blanks and unknowns. Thomas K. was my teacher and he was instrumental in rekindling my interest and affinity for reading. Because of Thomas, I read many more books than I had ever read in school in just a few short weeks. The weekend activities were absolutely top-notch. My favorite had to have been the white-water rafting trip where 6 friends and I paddled down a churning river, slid down natural waterslides and swung out into the river from a rope swing. Daily activities included: soccer, basketball, archery, horseback riding, yoga, pottery, painting, drawing and so much more. I sent both of my children to Delphian School! It was one of the best things my husband and I did for them. They got the education and the tools to handle life better. The school is amazing, the staff is wonderful and supportive. Our children started with the summer program and they loved it so much....we enrolled them full time. I wish there was a higher rating than 5 star. The music and sports programs offered here are exceptional. When my son got accepted to the high school, we decided to move our entire family up to Oregon from California to support him. It was a decision very well made, we're very proud of it. Class sizes are small but not too small. There's an amazing variety of activities to balance the introverted and extroverted attention-demands of different types of learning. My daughter has been attending the Delphian School since last November and she absolutely loves it!! She's so motivated in her studies, loves doing her homework every night and looks forward to going to school each and every day. I cannot say enough about the Delphian school and what they have done not only for my sons education but for our family dynamic all around ! When we enrolled our son at the Delphian School in January he was a bit behind academically . His previous school had reported that he had passed his academic levels in math , reading , writing , etc but they had actually taken him through without him really retaining and comprehending the data . In less than a few weeks his teacher at the Delphian School had taken him back to where he did understand the data and moved him through the books ensuring along the way he could actually duplicate and apply it. My son is actually reading now !!! Proud mom over here !! They take field trips , they get to be in a science lab , do pottery, cook, and explore the beautiful lands around the school ! He is busy all day long and when i pick him up at the end of the day he is so happy , talkative , and engaging !! My husband and i are so impressed and our home life has just been thriving even more !! The staff at the Delphian School are the kindest , most loving , and caring people that take such amazing care of the students ! They email me , text me , send me photos and keep me informed daily! I highly recommend this school. I attended high school here, called the Upper School. The small class sizes allow students as much or as little one-on-one attention that they need to really excel. My daughter attends school here and I love it! She's happy and excited to go to school every day and comes home eager to show off what she learned that day. The view is incredible and the campus is so safe, I have no worries for her while she's in school. She also gets to go swimming or to gymnastics once a week. She gets so much each day, I don't need to try to cram extra curricular activities for her into my already full schedule. She's also given snacks through out the day and a full lunch so that's another thing I don't need to worry about. I love it! read more

This is an amazing school! I arrived in late 2013, and I graduated in the class of 2017. My years here were magical and life changing. I become a more competent and responsible person, and the opportunities I received in the program were phenomenal. Going to the Delphian school was one of the best decisions I've made so far in my life. It probably was, in fact, the best one. I grew up. I became an educated person. I learned so much about how to work hard. I have had a pretty exciting life since Delphian and it's been so much fun because of the tools I've learned at Delphian. I made the best of friends with people from all around the world at the Delphian school. We are still in touch and I get to see them when traveling or have them come visit me. I wouldn't change going to Delphian! It helped me with getting jobs, it taught me things about finances, I learned to follow rules that a group so that the group can thrive. All the staff have special places in my heart because they become like family. I have gone back each year since I graduated for Alumni Weekend (a weekend they have every year for Alumni to come back to the school to see friends and faculty). I did miss only one year of Alumni weekend because my friend was getting married. I highly recommend every child go to this school if they can. Incredible school. The program is tailored to each student and their own interests and career choice. Students are able to move at their own pace and do a lot of independent study. They are asked to take a tremendous amount of responsibility for their own education, life, and community. There are a host of practical, hands-on activities, projects and internships, and students are asked to master their skills and work out how they actually will be used in their life. The kids enjoy learning and make life-long friends from around the world. Students are also taught skills that are rarely taught in school: how to study, how to further educate oneself, critical thinking, leadership, integrity, and hard work. As a result, the young adults that come out of this program are exceptional, able people who are able to succeed in their own lives and positively impact their own areas. I attended The Delphian School for my highschool years. Prior to arriving I had been attending a public school in Texas. I had just started receiving my first D and F grades which prompted my parents to look for something else. I graduated from The Delphian school with my diploma as a completely different girl than who had walked in originally. I actually learned at Delphi. I didn't do drugs, get drunk or any of the other many "activities" teenagers get into while in highschool. Instead I interacted with others, made friends and became literate and intelligent. It wasn't always easy, but any goal worth achieving has its challenges. That isn't to say the program is all work and no fun. Definitely not! There is plenty of fun and games that any school has. You don't miss out on anything. You simply get more. I am now a contributive member of society and am successful in what I do. I attribute much of that success to the fundamental education I received at Delphi. If you can't tell by now, I highly recommend it! read more

We have 3 Delphian graduates. Their success in life has made this phase of my life so very enjoyable. Now our grandchildren are at Delphian. That so many Delphian graduates return to work at the school and/or to enroll their own children likely says it all. The students learn the value of community, how to get into action and get things done, how to make decisions that do more good than harm, the value of honesty, how to be civil, how to live and work with and respect people from different cultures, and more. My daughter went to Delphian for two years in high school and totally loved it! When she arrived there, studying was difficult for her and she was wasn't very responsible about her time. That totally changed during her time there! Due to the great program, she learned how to study well and manage her time better. She is an independent girl, so she really liked the atmosphere of independent studies, plus she was busy with lots of fun extracurricular activities all the time!! The teachers really care. Now that she's out in the real world, she can handle an incredible job with a demanding schedule and has a high level of responsibility for her life! I graduated from Delphi in 2012. My experience during my four years there completely changed my view about the world. Coming from an exam-driven system in China, I used to think getting the best grades was the single most important thing in education. I used to compete with others and felt miserable going to school though I attended the one of the top middle schools in my city. However, I learned what education really meant as I went through the program. The program sparked my curiosity to learn not only just as a student in schools; it also motivates me to be a lifelong learner and self-determined, independent thinker. It was my experience at Delphi that made me believe in the power of education. I hope to become an educator one day myself to create better education for others.
