Recommended by a local townsperson, we found Delphi tucked into a little strip shopping center 1/2 block off a main artery. We were only one of three lunch-time tables, but we arrived before noon. Others trickled in (locals, judging from the accents) while we dined.
The menu's sufficiently varied, offering beef, lamb, chicken, pork and fish. Greek dishes are the highlight, and my pan-seared Seezunge (Sole) was a perfect example of "home-style" cooking from the kitchen. My companion liked his Grilled Pork Loin Steak, especially the shredded cabbage salad. We both liked small mixed salad, with a yoghurt-based herbal dressing.
Service was friendly, questions were asked, and yes, we were offered dessert and drinks. On the second floor, there's a front "terrace" offering open-air seating when the weather's appropriate.
Prices were very reasonable (and less expensive than Nuernberg or Munchen). The Pork steak was 7 Euros, my fish 7.80 Euros. As the German speaker wrote, we were pleasantly "surprised."
Note: Langenzenn's a bedroom community outside of Nuernberg. If you have an auto, it's worth the trouble. read more
