The next week we learned that not only was the water in our well contaminated, the well was dug on our neighbor's property. Once again it was left up to us to work out the legalities of purchasing some land from our neighbor. Costs related to tree removal were over double what we were quoted. Costs related to a retaining wall were also more than double what we were quoted. Although several of the trades people involved in our build were terrific, based on our experience, we could not recommend building a home with this company

Even though Mr. Cowen knew we wanted to be present for the inspection he arrived early and did…read moreabout half of it before our scheduled appointment. He missed things the house needed including problems with the siding and the windows, and significantly underestimated the insulation needed in the attic. He also didn't include basic information about the furnace and in general did an inspection lacking in thoroughness. We have owned our own home for over 30 years and had been referred to this inspector by our realtor at a time when it was hard to find a really good one.

Horizon did a great job washing our house in July. James stopped by to provide an in-person quote…read moreon the same day I contacted him. He was professional, described the work in detail, and answered all my questions. I needed to have a cupola removed from the garage roof so I could paint it, and he offered to remove and reinstall it for no additional charge. The house washing was thorough and the siding looks great now. They also blew debris off the roof and gutters, and washed all the windows. I was impressed with the quality of work and will hire Horizon again for future projects.

They admitted that they did not have enough experience to diagnose the issue, and needed to have their boss come out to take a look and would charge us, not only for their time and not being able to diagnose the problem, but an additional cost to have the boss come out for a look and diagnosis. We chose to end things there and go with another company. However, even after speaking with the boss and him admitted no services were provided by not being able to even diagnose the problem, we were still charged over $250 for nothing. We are at square one and are going with another company who has guaranteed a diagnosis or there will be no charge. The techs who came out were extremely nice and hard working. I do not fault them for what has happened. I 100% fault the owner and the terrible business practices they have. If someone more experienced had to come after the first techs, but did not charge an additional fee for their own inexperience, I would have gladly paid. Save yourself a lot of time & money - I would highly suggest going elsewhere. PLEASE read other one star reviews because they are EXACTLY what we experienced.
