I always love coming to Deloitte University for conferences. The campus is huge, beautiful, and has such a relaxing atmosphere that it almost feels like a resort. One of the best perks is that all of the food and snacks are complimentary, and there's a large variety of options throughout the property. The Bistro drinks were very authentically Starbucks quality. The matcha was even better than Starbucks. I also loved the snack rooms on every floor, each named after a city and stocked with a unique snack inspired by that location. Such a fun and thoughtful touch. The staff everywhere on campus were incredibly friendly and helpful. Albero, the new Italian restaurant, absolutely lived up to the hype. It's fine dining served family style, and everything we tried was excellent. The campus is also very convenient with shuttles between buildings and even golf carts that take you to the parking lot. read more

Racist and unsafe work environment for black and brown people. My family member reported to HR that they were being targeted by a white colleague and was called racial slurs. My family member documented and have video recordings of the incidents, per HR clear direction to document the situation if it continues. HR then does NOT want to accept the documents that they told my family member to collect. HR DID NOT help my family member which resulted in my family member leaving and quitting. This is NOT how you handle things. This is NOT how you take care of your employees. This is NOT how you hold people accountable. Last week was my second time visiting. I was a bit worried about food options with getting in past 8 pm CT on a Sunday night but the Barn was still open and had delicious BBQ. Later on I heard an insider tip that if you go at a certain time before they open for dinner they give tours of how they prepare the meat. I didn't get a chance to participate this time but my friend showed me a bottle of spices they gave out as souvenirs which was pretty neat. It's amazing how much Deloitte is willing to invest in its consultants. There are meeting rooms, classrooms and bigger ballrooms on the first floor, not to mention the free Starbucks, the Market or main dining room and tons of nooks with snacks. For the Market, the weather was really nice one night for dining outside and the view of the sunset was great. I also didn't know that strawberry lemonade was a drink option although it does take a bit longer to prepare since they puree the strawberry mix right before. From the second floor upwards are the hotel rooms with the "around the world" snack options: Ghirardelli and Pocky seem to be fan favs. I enjoyed the sessions and networking. I had a fantastic experience at Deloitte University. I attended the Deloitte National Leadership Conference, and it was a fantastic opportunity to meet other Deloitte interns as well as learn about the culture at Deloitte. In terms of the amenities, every guest received their own King bed and private bathroom with a TV and books that you could read during your stay. The free Starbucks was a necessity with the busy days, and the staff were so incredibly friendly. The food at the market is some of the best food I have ever had, with my personal favorites being the roasted potatoes, strawberry salad, and all of the steak. At night, we headed to the barn which was also filled with of great food including very tender brisket and delicious Mac and cheese. We even had the opportunity to explore the surrounding area during our free time. The sessions were all so engaging, with my favorite being the Deloitte Business Chemistry. From the moment I pulled up, I just knew things were on point. Their customer service is phenomenal. I really enjoyed how well put together each day's event had gone. (Nerding out) The campus was opened on a sprawling 700,000 sq.ft. landscape on Oct 2011. It was built on time, and under budget ($286M, saving $14M), and boasts 800 hotel room for attendees. I came here as part of a special leadership program. The Deloitte staff and facilities are the best I've ever been blessed to attend. Here's what you need to know: if I could give this facility and the service within 10 stars , I would. Extraordinary experience of service and comfort that is even unparalleled when compared with 5 star hotel properties across the world. The comort and experience you are indulged in while you attend meetings or training is simply luxurious. All meals and snacks are excellently prepared and complementary (impossibly to do portion control); the wine selection has plenty to offer for everyone and pricing for many a selection is at par with retail wine shops. From the moment you check in at DU, you are treated with incredibly generous hospitality from the staff (very four seasonsesque). The room I stayed in was excellent (between the quality of a 4 and 5 star hotel). There are several little common areas/nooks in the hallways leading to the rooms - each carefully appointed and themed differently based on locations of offices in the different Deloitte US geographical regions stocked with Nespresso machines, snacks, drinks, candy, etc. to much on any time of the day. The food at the Market dining hall and the Barn is absolutely terrific. Perhaps the best large scale catered food quality I've ever enjoyed. The bistro bar offers a full selection of espresso based drinks (complementary), using Starbucks coffee (here I wish they used a better - perhaps third wave - roaster to elevate the coffee experience. The AI technology (like dancing interactive robots ) on display at DU is fun and exciting, and captivates/engages the attendees. I can go on and on and on but suffice to say it is a one of a kind facility that truly elevated the learning experience. It's a privilege to spend time here and grow your skills and outlook. Deloitte University was definitely the nicest training facility and hotel that I've ever been to. I ditto everything that has been said in the previous reviews. The rooms are comfy and amazing. I loved that everything could be controlled by the bedside tablet (lights, thermostat, and tv). DFit was definitely a great touch as well. Plenty of cardio and weight machines. It was nice, neat and clean. There are PLENTY of toiletries in the locker room and bathrooms and you can even get things you forgot from guest services. My favorite part of DU was the amazing staff. Seriously, I wish they gave out more than three coins to give away. Remember the names of anyone who was exceptionally great (make a note in your phone if you have to) because if you mention their names on your exit survey they get 10 coins. Special thanks to the chef in the Barn Quincy! The food was AMAZING and we had a great conversation. I also appreciated Linda who greeted everyone coming in and out of the Market. Even if she was busy working on something at the desk, she stopped what she was doing to say hello, or goodbye, or enjoy your meal! Deloitte is a company that definitely invests in its employees and offers many resources for you to utilize to help you in your career, and one of resources is their leadership center, DU. It's located about 30 minutes away from Dallas. As a new hire, you'll get to spend a few days here for an extended orientation, but you'll come back throughout your career for milestone events (case simulations for your level, promotions, etc.), leadership programs, and other training opportunities. I've met colleagues here that I continue to keep in touch with, even though they're located in different cities. The highlights of my visits are the food and the gym. Food is an abundance throughout the facility (Starbucks, snack bars in between classrooms, city rooms with local snacks and beverages from the specific city, a market and a 24 hour bistro, and The Barn) and there's something for everyone. I'm a big fan of the custom smoothie bar during breakfast in the mornings with all of the healthy supplements and ingredients that you can think of. You WILL gain weight here because you can take as much as you want, even if you walk back and forth from one end of the facility to the other (#truestory) multiple times a day. The gym is huge, clean, offers a variety of different machines for weights and cardio, and also holds fitness classes in the mornings and evenings. The only things that you'll have to pay for is alcohol at the Barn (which is still a deal compared to other places!), items at the gift shop, and personal training/nutrition. The service here is impeccable! During your visit, you'll receive two tokens to give to employees who provided great service to you. I wish I had more than two tokens (although I hear that you can always ask for more) to give since everybody is usually so friendly and helpful. read more

What an incredible venue foI cannot say enough about this incredible facility. From the convenient and efficient shuttle service to and from DFW, to the food and coffee, to the accommodations and hospitality of the staff, DU is really a testament of Deloitte's commitment to the profession. A review that outlined everything that this "all inclusive accounting resort" has to offer would easily turn into a small chapter book. I'll just point out some of the most impressive features. The fitness center is full-service and has everything from cardio and aerobics equipment, to free weights, and even fitness classes (yoga, spinning, etc.) You can also borrow a bicycle to ride the trails that surround the property. I took a bike out one day, and discovered a pair of recreational fields that can be used for basketball, soccer, etc. There are also coolers full of cold bottled water on the trails. The food is amazing. It's not your typical cafeteria food at all. DU makes an effort to use locally sourced ingredients. There are plenty of vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free options. They also display calorie information. There is also a full-service Starbucks that turns into a wine bar at night. The selection of wine, beer, and spirits is actually quite impressive and more extensive than what many "real" bars offer. If you are looking to get a drink, I would also suggest visiting the barn, which is an enormous sports bar across from the main building. Try not to get too full during dinner if you are planning a visit to the barn later. The food there is even better than it is in the regular cafeteria. To top it all off, everything is free... well...someone is paying for it, but it probably isn't you. And the staff actually treats you as if you have a choice of where to stay, which you probably don't if you are at DU for a training or conference. DU is truly a top notch place to train and network. There has never been a training facility more thoughtfully designed as Deloitte University. As an intern and new employee starting in September, I went this summer and can't wait to go back! Your every need has been carefully thought out and arranged from the moment you arrive at the airport in Dallas all the way through until you leave the facility and board your plane to head home, even though you won't want to leave. The staff are the most competent and courteous I have ever encountered, and you feel as though you are special just for being apart of this great company and facility. The training while there was top notch and every detail of the day and exercises were well thought out and facilitated. The food....well there isn't much I can add to what has been said, but no matter your preference, there is an option for you and all at no cost to the employee or guest (except for alcohol of course, which is expected). The outdoor activities and on site gym are more than equipped to help you burn off all those extra calories you consume while here, but the most fantastic thing about the entire place is the chance to meet and network with the best people in business. This place truly is marvelous, and lived up the unimaginable hype that my entire office has been telling me about for the past 5 weeks. Imagine the same lavishness of Vegas hotels, but with staff that actually cares and acknowledges you as a guest and not a nuisance. The place is a quarter-mile long, so it's plenty of exercise if you don't ever actually make it to DFit, but that's a state-of-the-art gym so who wouldn't take advantage of it? Free snacks and drinks literally everywhere you walk. There are 3 city-themed snack rooms on each guest floor, and it ain't cheap stuff either. The Market and the Barn are both buffet-styled food places, though the Barn is more of a post-training celebration with drinks and good times type of place. Forgetting about the food for a sec (but God, who would), the learning facilities are no joke. My university needs to take some notes from DU, because its technology and accessibility are unheard of for a business training facility. 5/5 would return when given the chance to, even if it means giving up beautiful LA to sweat buckets in Texas heat. read more

My personal favorite part about DU is the free Starbucks. Free STARBUCKS!!!! I mean-- that alone is worth a trip to Texas. Sure, there's other good stuff here, too. Like themed food rooms. Some kind of workout classes. They don't have a pool, I've heard because no one wants to see their work colleagues in bathing suits. So true. SO. TRUE. They also make your room a mile away from the conference rooms, in order to force you to socialize. While a good idea in theory, it kind of sucks if you forget a key item in your room. *Full disclosure everyone leaving a review is likely an employee of the firm who created this place, so there definitely will probably be an air of us sipping the cool-aid, but this place really is great! Do you remember Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry? How the books billed it as a magical place where students had access to abundant troves of delicious food and could lose themselves in endless text and discussions of subjects they were very passionate about? In so many ways this is what DU represents, a place I've affectionately dubbed the Hogwarts of the business world. What's not to love about this place? Well I guess it is in Dallas, and not Austin but still...can't have it all. Nestled in the beautiful countryside of Texas, one gets to see the gorgeous sunsets the great state has to offer (yes I'm biased since I'm a native Texan born and raised). Pulling up to the complex you get a great view of Ross Perot's ranch, and a gate that has an interesting story (ask anyone who's worked here about that). In terms of amenities you have plenty. A staff that is available 24/7, a Starbucks that is also open 24 hours, various snack rooms among the 4 floors/800 rooms that have a laundry list of items to choose from, each with a unique snack (shoutout to the Minneapolis room with Dilly Bars on the 4th floor). On the ground floor during the day, the various break rooms there will have fresher foods and pastries, although in recent years I think there's been a definite shift to healthier options because I don't see the chocolate croissants and other goodies that used to commonly be found here. The Market has a theme of food that's different everyday, and gourmet food is the norm here. One day they'll have Chilean sea bass, another Brazilian steaks, sushi night was pretty cool, and I really like the quail as well. But the real fun is out at the Barn (also a funny story about the pool tables that cannot be spoken here) where good old fashioned BBQ is available until midnight, games are abundant, and overall it's the place to hang out. Drinks are pretty cheap here, and have a wide selection, although they used to be free for all professionals...but that's a different story. I've gone over a lot of the food/drink options at this point, but fear not because we have a state of the art gym to avoid packing on the pounds and falling down the precipitous cycle of overeating and drinking that consultants can get caught in. Every machine to work out every muscle in whatever way you can imagine is here, and there are personal trainers to help you with a workout or give you an assessment of your health (aka a retrospective of you questioning the life decisions that have gotten you to this point). If cardio is your thing there are plenty treadmills, ellipticals, and other apparatuses I don't even know the name to that get you and the heart moving. We also have firm themed work out clothes you can buy if you forgot to pack some workout clothes (the Nike shorts were so awesome). But if they gym isn't your spot you can always rent a bike and ride around the complex, catch a volley ball game, hit the soccer pitch, or get into a pick-up game on the courts. Lastly, as we are a learning facility I do want to speak to the classrooms and resources we have. Classrooms have all the materials you need to facilitate a class; plenty of white boards (the walls double as white boards), good projectors, printers available at every corner, privacy booths for teams to brainstorm or take calls in, and plenty of plugs to hook up to. Overall, I love this place because it's an embodiment of a very important characteristic I feel our firm espouses and commits to, and that's a belief in our people and a strong willingness to invest back to the things that make this a great firm. After spending a week at DU, it's going to take me a while to adjust to #reallife This is an amazing facility. They have everything you need and so much more. An awesome fitness center, impeccably clean and high-tech rooms for guests to stay in, and unlimited (delicious) food and drinks. There is food literally every where you turn, and the staff works extremely hard to keep everything fully stocked. I'm not the biggest fan of Starbucks, but when you can drink unlimited amounts of it FOR FREE...nothing really beats that. The only things you have to pay for at DU are items at the gift shop, laundry service, and alcoholic beverages, which means that you'll be full & happy during your entire stay there. As nice as the facility is, the customer service is out of this world amazing. Each and every employee takes the time to greet you and ask you how their day is going. They genuinely care about the guest experience. I've stayed in nice hotels with great customer interaction before, but DU goes above and beyond with their service. The food at DU is also quite tasty. I heard so much hype about the food, and really - it's good. I believe there's an emphasis on local, organic ingredients. The Market tries their best to create balance between healthy and sinful food options, so there really is something for everyone. Lunch and dinner feature different internationally themed meals each day; I had Korean, Italian, Mexican, French, American...the list goes on. Each floor also has unique city rooms that houses a local snack or beverage. There are also other snacks/drinks in there, so if you ever get the midnight munchies, city rooms are a great place to go. I've said it before, but the staff at DU is truly phenomenal. You'll get 2 tokens upon your arrival for you to give to anyone who has provided you exceptional service. Employees can then use these token to enter themselves in contests for vacations, electronics devices, etc. I wish I could have gotten more tokens! There were so many people I wanted to hand them out to. Also...make sure you save some room after dinner because The Barn has some of the best brisket and mac & cheese I ever had. What a wonderful place. Everything about Deloitte University is simply top-notch, and I really consider myself lucky to have been able to attend training here. A certain rapper once said: "Any rumor you heard about me was true and legendary", and this lyric truly applies to DU as well - as much as Deloitte leadership loves to hype up this facility, it delivers almost as well as how a certain professional services firm delivers in its client service. The only minor annoyance that comes to mind is the extreme distance of some of the classrooms from restrooms - the trek for those in certain rooms is not only long and tedious, but requires passing several temptations along in the way in the form of snack areas. In other words, make sure you keep track of time if you have only a 5-minute break. The "legendary" aspect of DU primarily comes from the food, but such a status is well-deserved. The Market is open for three meals a day and features rotating globally-themed cuisines (although once you notice that the cuisines start repeating, that might be a sign that it's time for you to leave DU). The range of food options here is extremely accommodating (gluten-free, vegetarian, vegan, etc.) and in some cases actually quite healthy, which can help counteract the extreme portions you're likely to eat. However, it is important to note that moderate eating is seldom practiced here. A better approach for mitigating weight gain is to head to DFit, DU's on-site gym. DFit is easily better than any hotel gym I've ever been to, as it offers both endless cardio machines and equipment of the bench/squat rack/pull-up bar variety. You could also attend one of several fitness classes here or rent a bike to explore the grounds. On nicer days, it's worth getting out to go for a run or play basketball, but do keep in mind that DU is in Texas - plan for the weather accordingly. Once you head back to your room, the temptations return in the form of loaded snack rooms every 200 feet or so. Each of the guest floors features four of these "cities", such as London, Houston, Sao Paolo, etc. To me, some of the city/food associations to me are a bit iffy... but there are plenty of fan favorites (Tokyo's Pocky, San Francisco's Ghiradelli, Minneapolis' DQ Dilly Bars and so on) that no one really minds. There is indeed a full-service, all-free Starbucks here. I could go on and on, but the key point: Deloitte did a great job of getting people who travel for work to be excited about visiting a training center. Make sure you use your tokens (which take the place of "tips" at this all-inclusive facility) to reward the staff members who help make your stay a great experience. read more

Yea, this place is fantastic. The food is immaculate. I was so spoiled here that i'm not sure I can fully appreciate food elsewhere ever again. The options are endless and, despite the food being served buffet style (which I usually hate), the options were not overcooked or dry. The amenities are fantastic as well. There are outdoor fire pits that are amazing under the Dallas night sky and there is a ton of outdoor seating for the occasional outdoor lunch. The Barn is also great; there is food at the back and bars out front. There are pool tables on the side patios and a massive, impressible fireplace towards the front entrance. A note for those staying here: don't just bring professional clothing. Bring jeans and workout clothes. Take a bike ride around the "campus", make use of the excellent workout facility, and take a few trips to the Barn. read more

The hype is real y'all. This place is AMAZING. Where to start? Perhaps the lavish guest rooms that have a million and five fluffy pillows, charging ports right by your bedside, or the stack of brilliantly curated books left for you to fall asleep reading after your long nights of training. I'd say absolute highlight of my trip was - unsurprisingly - the food. The barn mac and cheese is heavenly. If I could have my way, that's all I would have eaten for a week straight. But that would have been perceived as socially irresponsible... So I had to control my primal attraction to baked cheese and carbs. The brisket is also amazing. Please indulge. In the Market, they sometimes serve this chocolate mousse. It's so smooth and irresistibly delectable. The shrimp and corn mix at the salad bar is also so, so good. Pair it with the balsamic dressing and sprinkle some greens in there to feel a little bit better about the otherwise incredibly unhealthy diet you'll maintain throughout your trip. The facilities are super dreamy. Answer your emails while walking on a treadmill desk. Go sit by the fire outside the barn. Walk off some of your meal on one of the trails (but beware of snakes and other rogue wildlife). Sit in the lobby and take in the fine home furnishings. Pop in one of the city rooms and play a board game. There are lots of things to do here, so don't be a hermit and stay holed up in your room! I would give more stars if I could. This place is unbelievably magnificent. I know, I know I'm hyping up the place, but everything you've heard is true. The food is free, it's unlimited. There are snack corners everywhere. The upper floors have snack rooms based on cities. From ghiradelli chocolates to Indian murukus/chaklis, everything is available. The buffet is fabulous. The Barn is great. There's even a live band. The service is awesome. People are kind and sweet and attentive. You don't tip the staff with money, you are given "tokens" to give to the staff. Also the showers. Finally you can check the temperature of the water without getting wet or burned or frozen. I love it. I would live there if I could. *experiencing DU withdrawal symptoms* Can't wait to go back! read more

What is there to say that has not already been said? Spending time at Deloitte University makes me very proud of my place of work. It's truly an incredible facility, and they paid so much attention to every detail, ensuring that it is the optimal place for learning. The rooms are in perfect condition. You will get a work out walking around this place, as it stretches nearly half a mile! Before I arrived at DU, I received an email from the chef letting me know that while I am a vegetarian, they would have plenty of food for me. I wasn't even worried, but it was nice to get the email! The food was incredible, but I had to stop myself from all of the cheese grits, sweet potato fries, and soft serve ice cream and go more towards the salads and wraps. Kind bars are everywhere and the place has a top notch athletic facility. During my first visit to DU, we even had some time one night to play a big game of volleyball. I met many of my closest friends/contacts during my times at DU, and of course I learned a ton. I can't wait to go back! read more

I was here last month for a week of training and DU in general was just such an incredible place to be - from the facility itself, the food, the staff, the outdoor activities, etc. It's hard to believe training can be held in such an amazing place. Maybe I'm just a jaded New Yorker, but I could not believe how friendly the DU staff were. There were times I was addressed by name and it just blew my mind - you don't get that many other places (and okay, maybe that's because we're always wearing name tags, but still - they don't HAVE to call you by name!). The food was PHENOMENAL! There was always a huge variety of food for all meals - even if you are the most selective eater, you will not go hungry at DU! I tried to limit the food I had at the Market for dinner to save room for the mac and cheese and bread pudding at the Barn! Not to mention the location themed lounges with special snacks from certain regions - cracker jacks, pocky sticks, vitamin water, beef jerky, shortbread cookies, to name a few. The rooms were also great! Lots of space to hang clothes and there was plenty of space to do work and relax. I really liked having the light panel next to the bed - it's a lot easier to wake up early when you can just turn all the lights on before getting up! I went to Dfit twice and we took the bikes out on the trail one night and played some soccer and basketball. Dfit is great - I really like the hybrid/stride machines and they had four of those, so I was set for my workout!! The trail outside is definitely better for running because of the stone.. I almost wiped out on the bike a couple of times because the stones were clumped in a couple spots around corners. If you go to the soccer field or basketball court, you'll find plenty of soccer balls or basketballs to play. There's no hassle of bringing them there - they are literally right next to each field/court! Finally, the classrooms and training areas were top notch. In the classroom we were in, each table had the ability to connect one of their computers to one of the three projection screens in the classroom, so we could easily share some of the work we were doing with others easily without having to leave our tables. If we needed to step out for a meeting, there were plenty of areas nearby to sit. They also had treadmill desks and standing desks! Can't wait for my next trip to DU! read more

I was sent here for a whole week, for 2 training back to back. At first, I had heard so much about this place and assumed it was all hype. Upon arrival, things started to become a reality. It felt like a resort, without a pool (and almost everything was included). The food was great.. and obviously very loaded, there's a reason why our rooms do not come with scales. We would probably break them by the time we eat. All the food.. is FREE. And it is EVERYWHERE. It is in the market (where you go for 3 meals a day), along the hallways in all the break rooms and even in the most random spots. The employees that work here are also SUPER nice. Almost as if they genuinely want to be and are not paid to smile. They have a very interesting rewards system here for the workers, which I thought was cool. If you get to come here, enjoy it while you can! read more
