I've been heading to Dellwood for close to 6 years now, and I always look forward to digging through the crazy big disc selection and seeing everyone working that day. I still bag molds that Sean (the owner) recommended back when I showed up to the shop for my first time back when I was learning. Early on I used to order discs online, but stopped years ago because being able to pick out a stamp and weight you like is a much better experience overall. It's also nice to support a local business. The shop also puts on a ton of really awesome events throughout the year that bring out a great community. If you get a chance, I highly recommend showing up to at least one of them. I feel lucky to have the opportunity to be able to regularly hit the shop and get a round in at The Canyons. A pretty big park is in Lockport and has lots of room for various activities and fun. Dellwood Park has athletic fields for baseball and more. It also has areas for recreation. Has a disc golf course. There's fun here for any season. First looking at this park it doesn't seem as big. It actually is pretty deceiving as it goes back a long ways from the road. The entrance road twists around various athletic fields and parking lots taking you through. Best thing here apparently is the disc golf. It's often the reason people come here. The Canyons is what it's called, and people are always here tossing frisbees and having a good time. It seems difficult. This isn't for beginner or casual players. A lot of opportunities to have fun. It's best known for disc golf. There's facilities for other types of sports too. read more

Nice little park, son plays baseball here. Good concession stand (no quick restaurants within walking distance), bathrooms need a little work (sneak inside the park district building for an actual bathroom). Good parking but very busy on game days! Lovely walking path too and very dog friendly. read more

My sister invited me here to come and hang out with her. She told me this was her favorite park in all of Lockport. It's truly a unique park. The biggest hassle for me and first time goers is actually getting here because odds are you'll probably pass it up on your first attempt. This place has baseball fields. Trails, Frisbee Golf of all things! Everything here is well maintained. It's a large park too. Many people that were here were utilizing picnics on the grass which was pretty cool. Plenty of people come here. Plenty of parking. Definitely enjoyed coming here. read more

Huge park that is beautiful. They also have a frisbee golf course called the canyons. Super course, through the woods, by streams, fields. So much fun. Highly recommended. They also have a small shop that sells frisbee golf gear and discs. Nice staff. Only thing I did not dig is that the staff and customers were not wearing masks. Favorite disc golf course in Chicago area. Beautiful park. Lots of variety, with trees, hills (even cliffs), long and short holes, water hazards (reasonable), and bridges. Definitely some risk of losing disc, but not ridiculous. Some holes are a bit far apart, but the area is super pleasant to walk thru, so no big deal. Take your time and just enjoy it. Some pedestrians to avoid, but most of the course manages to avoid them. Watch for mud in spring and occasional tournaments (like today, Sat 8/8). read more

There's an overwhelming sense that the disc golf course here is one of the best in the Chicagoland, and after playing it I would have to agree. The course is called "The Canyons" and for very good reason. Many holes sculpt the Fraction Run river and the rock walls that surround it. This place gives a whole new meaning to the phrase 'water hazards' as the river can and will claim your disc if you're not careful. I'd recommend coming prepared to fetch a disc or two out of the river, it seems to be a magnet. The best part about The Canyons isn't the scenery but rather the ups and downs you make while playing the course. One hole might be along the river bank and the next might be 100+ ft up on a hill or field. There's also a great range of difficulty playing this course. Some holes seem short and easier but offer obstacles. Other's are just extremely long..like the few up in the prairie portion. When playing this course for the first time you'll never know what's around the corner. I think it would take quite a few rounds here to master your game. Awesome scenery and a very challenging, but equally rewarding course. read more

Really nice park that looks to be getting nicer as time goes on. They have built many permanent bathrooms all over which is very convenient. The frisbee golf coarse is one of the nicest I have ever been to. As long as the kids dont destroy it with their graffiti and angst, it could stay that way. A lot of the benches had marker drawings all over them, and some of the signs had peoples initials for aces on them. Remember kids, no one cares if you aced a hole. Stop vandalizing this nice coarse. Take a vine, a snapchat, or just keep it to yourself. Keep this coarse nice for future frolfers. read more

This place is awesome. We started coming here in high school (back then we called it "gothic park", but whatever) and it's stuck with me even though I graduated over ten *gulp* years ago. Great playgrounds for the kids and amazing paths to wander about. You really have to see it to appreciate the architectural beauty. We've never attended any of the events here, but have been here during all seasons--each one more lovely than the next. My family's favorite outdoor place to go, bar none. read more

The walking trails through here are great, though some are a little steep and uneven so not all of them are for everyone. I bring our husky with me when I go and she just loves it. Pretty scenery, lots of different areas, picnic tables and now freebie golf. read more

I come down once a year to attend the WWII camp that takes place here and participate in the AAGPBL reenactment baseball game and this is one of my favorite locales (and trust me, I've been on the tour of WI and IL WWII camps/parks). The park is big and spacious, the baseball diamond is always nice and well-kempt, the people are friendly, there's parking and the event is great. What else could I need? read more

I love this place. My wife has been hitting up this spot for over a decade and I totally understand why. The kids love the playgrounds and the path is short enough for them to walk without tiring out too quickly. Minus one big star for not having a wheelchair accessible path. We can take our three year old around the park area, but wouldn't be able to take her into the heart of the park. It's old so I understand, but it's still a bummer. read more

I love dellwood park alot its my favorite park because you can walk through nice woods which i love walking through. There is a tunnel i love going that takes you to dead mans cave which my friend Lisa Frickey took me. So i love spending time in dellwood park. I might get a job at dellwood park and I'm excited about that I love dellwood park so much I own the dead mans cave I go in there all the time. Took my kids (ages 2 and 5) to Dellwood Park to kill a few hours, and we were all very impressed. There are three different playground areas, as well as some nice walking paths, flower gardens, gazebos, picnic tables, a pavilion, etc. I also saw a police car patrolling the area regularly, so it felt very safe. read more
