The entree was an octopus/ squid dish of some kind; I'm not quite sure what it was because my knowledge of French is nonexistent and there's only so much google translating/ dictionary-ing before you give up and guess your order. It was a little bit of a disappointment that the food was so, "meh".. was also a little odd that when it got dark, the strobe lights came on. (Is this a European thing?) Anyhow, the service was good and the server very attentive. The location was also nice as it was close to the harbor, but not so close that I was eating overlooking the ocean. I will say, however, that the creme brulee was amazing and I cleaned off my ramekin. Noms.

It was a perfect experience for 4 adults and 2 teens who were starving at 8:30 on a Friday night - especially when many places turned us away. The service was discrete, friendly yet respectful of our privacy. The location (especially when enjoying the patio), gives you a view of the corniche right below without being bothered by the noise (in October of course). Then comes the best part: amuse bouche served with the aperitif put us in a 'show me more' attitude, with a growing satisfaction with another amuse bouche served prior to the appetizers. The finesse and blend of delicate tastes already won us over before even starting the real meal. I went for the basic menu, sea food oriented. Difficult to describe the talent of the chef, helped with a smart wine pairing choice suggested by the sommelier (Cassis Blanc clos de Sté Magdeleine). Can't wait for my next trip there, this place is part of my to go list again

It can be very overwhelming to walk into an establishment not knowing the language but the owner Thoma (hope I'm spelling his name right) was so warm, welcoming and very patient with us. He took the time to explain every dish to us and joked around with the group often making the night exceptional. We had a group of 7 without reservations (a no no for small restaurants in France) but we crossed our fingers and tried to get a spot anyways. So glad we did! The menu changes twice daily depending on what's fresh. So lunch and dinner are different - every day. Everything was creative and delicious. We agreed later that the duck was the best we had while in France. You will have a fabulous time here. Just be sure to get reservations so you don't miss out!
