It's a pleasure to dine here. Their menu has a really good selection of eats from sandwiches to full cooked lasagnas, you won't be left wanting. I decided to go with the Tuna Melt. Other members of my party also opted for sandwiches, the club sandwich looking particularly lovely. While I enjoyed my tuna melt, I was expecting a little better. The melt looked great on the plate (see attached picture) but looked more like mini pizzas to me. I think next time I'll be sure to ask for it as a sandwich instead. The club sandwich looked fantastic and the portions are excellent value for money. It would be a really great rival spot to the nearby Bective for evening food. I can only imagine their upstairs looking super romantic with candles and fairy lights. Why should you dine here? Support local businesses! The place is lovely - the café is filled with light and plants and the surroundings are beautiful. Mum is a picky eater but she relished the mushroom quiche and finished the entire piece even though it was huge! (Seriously - about three times the size of portions elsewhere.) My brother loved his herbed rice bowl and I liked the organic porridge with fruit and the pistachio plum cake. The only kink was that several items arrived much later than the food - the coffees, bread, and honey for my porridge (I had already finished my porridge by then). The store is filled with great stuff - fresh fruit and veg, and a good selection of some of the most ethical products. Weirdly, the Strandfield website contains no info other than an address, so you have to rely on reviews to get info in advance. The lunch menu is mostly comprised of sourdough pizza, salads (including a quinoa bowl and herbed rice bowl), and sandwiches - see menu photo. There are also lots of bakery items, including freshly baked scones, cakes and wheaten bread (which was really good - I bought one to take home). Not only can you get very reasonably priced organics (veg, fruits, cooking oils, canned foods, boxed foods, etc), but they also have the absolute best coffee in the area. And if you have a sweet tooth, you'll find wonderful cakes, cupcakes, scones, etc. They also serve homemade vegetable soup daily. I've also noticed that kids love this place. They do offer colouring items for the kiddies and they have a nice two-seater couch available to relax on in addition to their indoor seating. This summer promises cold salads and other goodies. It's also a good place to purchase locally-made arts and crafts. Right now they have a book club and there's talk of some cooking demonstrations coming up. It's definitely a wonderful place.
