Rather than write a lengthy review about the vulgar, unprofessional and bigoted behavior of Eric Delaforce, I felt it would be more effective to copy and paste an e-mail he recently sent to me. The events leading up to this are as follows: we paid $100 to have our engagement pictures taken at a waterfall in Dahlonega. He waited until after I paid him to tell me he didn't have time to go to the waterfall so instead we would have to do the 30 minute in-studio sitting (which is free according to the terms of our contract, his website, and the sign on his office door). A few days later he cashed the check for the waterfall shoot. I wanted to ask him about this when we came to view our wedding proofs, but we had altercation that day when he tried to change our signed contract in order to limit the number of wedding pictures we could receive. We felt it was better to wait until we received our wedding photos before bringing up the engagement fee because we were worried that he might compromise our wedding pictures. Eventually, my husband called and asked him why he cashed the check for the waterfall shoot when it never happened. We asked for a $100 credit towards engagement prints (rather than a refund) but he only credited us $50. Two weeks later he sent me the following e-mail wherein he references my being Jewish in the subject line. I suppose he is backhandedly trying to make reference to Jewish stereotypes. I am reminded of the expression "the cheap comes out expensive". I chose Delaforce Photography because he is less expensive than his peers, and now I understand why. If I could, I would gladly go back and pay more for a wedding photographer if it meant having a professional rather than a bigoted bully. I took this workshop to learn more about the fancy camera that my husband bought me after the birth of our first child. I paid TONS of money to photographers to try to get that "moment" captured. Eric taught me how to use my camera, edit photos and pick the pose/lighting that best complimented my subject. The classes were invaluable!
