Here's an update on this location since I still come here often after my 2023 review. The service has definitely changed. I don't know what makes the people who work here so grumpy, Its been a good year since I've had a pleasant interaction at this location. There are no kind greetings or friendly faces. That said, the food consistently comes out quick, fresh, and accurate, which I definitely appreciate. read more

The worst Del Taco ever. As a former employee of Del Taco, many years ago, I can speak from experience that this is poor customer service. This saddens me because this Del Taco is closest to my house, but I will find another. There are several nearby and all have the same menu. It's the salsa that brings the business. Here is the issue: The employee will ask how many hot sauce packets you want, and then they give less every time. I gave them three chances and every time, they shorted me. If you order a ton of food, such as a Fiesta Pack, one would expect a ton of Scorcho Salsa, or at least more than ONE SMALL PACKET PER item, but that is the case. They ask and short the amount of packets. They do not give enough packets to fit the amount of food. This is not the first time this has happened to me, but it will be the last. Seriously. I am never going to THIS Del Taco ever again. read more

Date of Incident: June 4, 2025 Location: Del Taco - 272 40th st . San Bernardino ca 92404 Store #1295 To Whom It May Concern, I'm writing to formally express my frustration and dissatisfaction with the service I received at your location on June 4, 2025, and again on June 5, 2025. On 6/4, I placed an order and received an incorrect meal. I ordered a Coke Zero but was given a Dr Pepper instead. Additionally, my breakfast roller was missing ingredients--it only contained egg, with no bacon, which was supposed to be included. I called the location immediately and was told by the employee (a heavyset woman working the drive-thru window that day) that she would write down my name for a correction and had spoken with the cook. I was under the impression the issue would be resolved. The following day (6/5), I returned to the store and spoke with a Hispanic female employee with her hair pulled back and a tattoo on her neck. She informed me that my name was not written down and claimed she could not do anything to help. I explained who I spoke to the previous day, but she offered no resolution and instead gave me the name of the manager, Jaime. When I called to speak with Jaime, the situation escalated. He was condescending, dismissive, and unprofessional. He outright accused me of lying, saying there was no record of my name and denying the employee I described even worked there. Rather than offering to look into the situation, ask his team, or follow up, he told me I must have gone to another Del Taco--essentially calling me a liar multiple times. This was completely unacceptable. I'm a professional, and this isn't about the cost of a Coke Zero or breakfast roller--it's about principle and customer service. I do not appreciate being spoken to in such a demeaning way. Jaime clearly lacks the communication and problem-solving skills necessary to be in a managerial role. I felt devalued, disrespected, and unfairly treated. It's not about the food--it's about the attitude and lack of accountability. I expect a formal acknowledgment of this complaint and appropriate corrective action taken. My experience this morning was upsetting. Note to Jaime: you need to take managerial 101 course, so that you know how to deal with customers who are honest. You lack the worse managerial skills. Hopefully, this can be a learning experience for you. Note: 6-10-2025 I called to filed a complaint a week ago and have not heard back from the Del Taco corporate office. Obviously there is a link missing and Del taco does not pride themselves with excellent customer service. If this was me handling this issue I would have reached out to the customer who was filing a complaint. We're at 5 days and still no call back from the corporate office. Wrong is wrong. Jaime the store manager does not have the ability to investigate but accuse me of trying to steal 1.00 roller and a Coke Zero by calling me a liar that my odor was not wrong because my name was on left on a list after an associate took my information. He met the wrong person. It's all principle Jaime. You should not be in the position you were given. I will not let this go. I don't care how high I have to go but this issue will be resolved and your lack of professionalism will be exposed. read more

Very friendly service but zero quality control happening in the kitchen. Grayish, soggy fries is definitely not what I expected to pay for. When they do them right, their crinkle cut fries are my favorite but today that was not the case. Also, my double del cheeseburger had a stale bun. I paid for this? This all came from the trash. Robbery. read more

Tried their $5 Birria beef ramen out of curiosity. I've always liked Del Taco fast food. Not the best nor authentic Mexican food as everyone knows. Services were always good at 40th Street Del Taco. Expedient and friendly. For$5 cannot expect much on ramen. It is fast hot broth, flavors of beef and noodles. Not spicy. Small bowl. Got it through Drive Thru. Was pretty good for $5! Will go back to Del Taco just for this Mexican-American fast food ramen. Nice quick lunch to warm up the body. read more

I got a green bold burrito and I've had issues about this burrito before. So it's been a very long time since I been to this location, so I thought I would try again the same burrito! Well it was just trash. The beans were awful! The green sauce barely any and couldn even taste the so called special sauce (wasn't special at all). I'm so pissed I wasted my time and money. The mature lady that works the after midnight shift is really sweet! And that's all I can say for this location. read more

It is definitely one of the better del tacos I go to and certainly the best fast food location in the immediate location (I won't get into all the issues with the others). Service is always excellent and ambiance is fantastic, comparatively. They have no hesitation in giving some extra sauce, which is a huge plus for me. This is maybe the best del taco I visit and super happy it is where it is. Keep it up guys. read more

This location is terrible. I ordered a chicken soft taco meal with bottled water and two regular tacos. I got a soft taco meal with under cooked and over salted fries, a cup of water because they were out of bottled water and no regular tacos because the cashier didn't add them to my order. So I paid for premium water and got tap water and half the amount of tacos I wanted. This will be my last visit to this location. read more

I don't understand how I can go to this del taco several times in a week and have been told: "Sorry we're temporarily closed" "Sorry to inform you our system is down" "Our system is rebooting and won't be able to order for 10 min or so" ...or something along those lines. I get off work late, and have been unable to order here for 2 weeks. I gave up for a few days, just going elsewhere. I thought I'd give it a try tonight....no dice. Why even employ people for a "24 hour" drive thru, if you're never able to take peoples orders after midnight? Save yourself the payroll and bad reviews. read more

We ordered postmates. The seal was completely on each bag perfectly. But when we ate our food...There was a hair in the chicken roller. My husband was enjoying his food until he was finishing his last few bites out of the chicken roller and a thick long black stran of hair was in his mouth as he was chewing! When he realized what it was he pulled it out of his mouth! His mouth! So gross and disgusting! So offensive! My hair is brown and this is a black stran hair. So gross! I have been going to this del taco for 15+ years on our way up to lake arrowhead. The food across Del Tacos are pretty standard and sometimes the service is slow but its always fresh and the staff is great. I'd give it negative 5 if i could. I go to del taco at 11:15 on 9/21/20 & i had to wait forever to order i ask if i can order and then she says with a rude ass attitude "she's dealing with a customer she needs a minute" so why isn't there any other workers able to take my order?? Then after all that wait i go order and I asked for a shake "sorry our shake machine is down"! Really del taco you have the laziest workers machine isn't down their lazy asses don't want to clean the machine. Her customer service sucked & since your machine are supposedly always down late at night then del taco needs to upgrade the machines. Every time we come here there is something wrong with the food. Granted, having a messed up order is better than being shot in this horrible neighborhood, but still. This place is horrible and should be shut down from the health department. There was employs eating at the front counter. One lady was talking on her cell phone behind in the cooking area. But the one thing that grossed me out most was the woman in the glasses. I saw her cough many times and never wash her hands. She was also yelling from the cook area all the way to the other side of the lobby. And who I believe we're family members. We get it, del taco isn't a nice restaurant. But this is just bad.
