Called for a cab from the Quality Inn in Hyde Park to Darby O'Gills. Per google maps, it's a 0.9 mile distance between the two. We were told no problem, they would send someone over. We hop in the cab about 10 minutes later. On the way over, the cabbie calls dispatch and asks how much the cab would be. $16. No joke. $16. For less than one mile. The rationale we got when we called dispatch ourselves was that they could charge us the distance from the cab dispatch to the pickup location. Probably the most ridiculous thing ever. And talking inside with the bouncers, we were told that this company is notorius for pulling stuff like this. Bottom line, DON'T use this company. read more

Reliable service consisting of older vehicles. I use them to get to/from the Poughkeepsie Amtrak station to Vassar Brothers Medical Center 2-3 times a month. Occasionally they have no availability, in which case I grab whatever taxi happens to be outside. read more

We called about 12 hours ahead for an 8:30am pick-up to the train station. Roy was outside waiting for us when we got to the sidewalk in the morning. Very friendly, reliable and prompt. read more

They recommended calling an hour ahead for a cab. I did so and the driver showed up right on time (and was even 5 min early). It was a fair price and a smooth ride. I'm not sure how they do with calls for immediate pickup, but calling ahead worked well for me! read more

They'd get 5 stars if they could take credit cards. My driver was very pleasant and got me where I needed to go quickly and efficiently.

Don't know what to say about the service because I didn't get to experience it waited well over an hour for the taxi to arrive and it never did had to call another cab company not a good first impression read more

Most of the drivers are reliable, arrive with the on time, and they are polite. Dispatcher is a little aggressive but completely sympathize with her. Only issue is they need to add more drivers during their high demand times. read more

Reliable and honest. Called a cab to the train station and it showed up on time. Notably, the driver also charged me an honest fare, almost half what another company did for exactly the same trip. Wish I'd known about Del-Roy earlier. Look for a maroon cab. read more

My experience with this service was much, MUCH, better than my average experience with cabs around Poughkeepsie. The driver showed up on time! The vehicle, a van, was reasonably clean and was smoke free. The driver was not talking to his girlfriend or anyone else while he was driving. The driver was personable. read more

The driver was unprofessional and discourteous: He did not help with doors, added another passenger free of charge against my wishes, did not have the proper child seating I had asked for, CURSED at me in English and Jamaican, and accused me of being racist: I had to open and close the van doors myself; he got out of his seat only to be sure I had CLOSED the doors properly. Although I had coordinated the trip earlier, the driver arrived 15 minutes after I did at the Del Roy offices. Although I had already negotiated the price of a trip to JFK, and although he was already late, we had to drive to a gas station to fill his tank. Nexxt, the driver caused me to wait in the van more than ten minutes while he went to get his GIRLFRIEND. She then rode as a passenger, and as we approached NY, he actually left the highway to make sure SHE could get wherever it was she was headed. I complained bitterly, and he ultimately returned to the highway and his girlfriend drove with us to JFK. Instead of dropping me in front of my terminal, he drove to some section of the parking area and told me to remember where he was so that I and the passengers I was meeting could find him. Although I had asked for a car seat for a 3-year old, he said it was not necessary because the van seats were safely configured. I arrived late, thanks to the driver's delays. The plane had already begun disembarking. And of course, the mother of the three year old would not consider riding in a van without a proper child car seat. So a limo service with the proper seating for a 3-year old would have to be found. I returned to the van alone, On the ride home, the driver cursed at me because i told him that his girlfriend had to pay half of the fare to the airport. He threatened to take me to the police; I said that was fine. He actually got off the highway to hunt for a police station! He accused me of racism: said I would not treat the "white man" like I was treating him, that I only treat the "blahk mahn" like that f-word f-word bambanaskl*.... When I spoke with the owner/manager, he said that it was fine if I paid 50 dollars less. So at the end of the nightmare trip, i paid 50 less in cash. But because I had made a deal with the manager earlier, after getting my receipt, i handed the rude driver a check for the 50. Of course he rudely complained. But on the check I had written "a deal is a deal"; maybe I will ask the small claims court to award me the 50 dollars. I will NEVER ride with this driver again. The dispatcher is not reliable. Had to call back when taxi never came to pick us up in front of Vanderbilt Mansion. Dispatcher claimed taxi came, but left, because it did not find us. This is bunk. We were there and never received call from dispatcher about any such problem. Told by another driver that Delroy might just drop a fare when too busy with other runs. Note we then called H&H taxi which came out quickly. read more

Terrible experience. I requested an airport (SWF) pick up and the driver did not show up and then charged the fee to my credit card. After leaving numerous messages I talked to the dispatcher the following day who said that the driver told her that he was apparently there and saw us hop in another taxi (this was almost 1 hour later than the scheduled pick up time!!!) However, the dispatcher apologized for the entire fiasco and agreed to refund the money. I have used this company before and never had problems with them - this driver is entirely responsible for this poor review of Del-Roy Taxi Service. read more
