He doesn't pay for property his crew destroys. I signed papers and paid a down payment in May for a new roof, it finally got done in September. I was at work when they finished so I didn't see the outdoor cat house they broke right away. When I contacted him, he told me to send pictures. I did right away. He said he'd come by to talk and view in person, never showed. He responded about 4 different times when I made contact and never showed. The pictures are attached. This happened by them covering it with tarp and throwing shingles from the roof on top of it. The outdoor cat house is insulated and waterproof, about $500 brand new. I gave him one more chance to pay for replacement or buy a new one and deliver it. I thought about suing him but spreading the truth on his business will cost a lot more than if he's been honest and had an ounce of integrity. If you dare do business with him, you have been warned. Also, he may change his company name once word spreads about this business. He told me Chobey's Roofing and American Roofing was a company he owned with his brother but they had a disagreement and split so he opened up his own company. Remember his name is Nick Chobey no matter what the company name. I don't know if the roof work is good. I'll have to have it inspected.

Has NO knowledge of city permits - Nick told me all his customers filed their own permits (which isn't even possible). Led me on for a month about getting permits (which he couldn't acquire) after he lost his temper with Dean's Plumbing and Dean's turned my home project into the city. Nick filed a false permit for "Siding/Windows" for a kitchen in an attempt to get by. Said I'd be dealing with other contractors directly but added on his cost behind my back (on top of the quote/services provided). For a gas hookup costing $450, he told the gas contractor to charge me an additional $300 on the backend for him (Nick). Subpar work - Tiled over the electrical outlet for my island and drain for my icemaker, MAJOR scratches on my hardwood flooring when they moved a heavy piece of furniture. I could write SO much more about dealing with Nick Chobey. What a nightmare. I'm not a malicious person but just don't want anyone else to go through the HELL I went through hiring this guy.

Alex and his sales manager, Kristian, were available and ready to answer any questions I had before, during, and after the installation. The warranty obligates OC, not the installer. My materials warranty is 50 years with no proration and is one-time transferable to a new owner. My OC workmanship warranty is 10 years. The warranty also covers wind resistance to blow-off up to 130 mph for 15 years and algae resistance for 25 years. Tear-off, full installation, and cleanup were done in one day flat. The crew was roughly a dozen people, who started at 6:30 AM and finished in 12 hours. The size and skill of the crew made quick completion possible.
