A very beautiful beach where my partner and I went towards the end of the day to catch the sunset. It ended up being quite foggy - so, the views far off into the ocean were very difficult . I love this beach. Bring the off-season, it is rarely attended. Still a lot of people taking advantage of the unseasonably warm California winter. Dogs should be on leases but it seems rarely enforced. Parking is a bit tricky for a predominantly residential neighborhood. Get here early and stay the day or park in long term parking nearby. read more

This beach is easy to access, great parking, and you can have your dog on one side. The only downfall is there are a lot of people that stay overnight in the parking lot and I've noticed over the last couple of years there's a lot more trash. People clean up after yourselves! Morning drive to the beach. This particular beach is located in a neighborhood next to the apartment complex seen in the HBO show Big Little Lies. Parking is plentiful when it is early morning, like my outing today. It is a public beach with board walk trails all with views of the beach. You can see all the way over towards Santa Cruz in one direction and Monterey/Pacific Grove the other direction. This is also a surfing beach at times. Other things that can happen here, bonfires for sure, as seen from the rubbish left behind, unfortunately, and I want a bonfire before my summer vacation is over. I get distracted, it is a neighborhood/public beach access to a gorgeous large beach area. Port of potties are at one end of the street as well. It is a one way street in and out which is tight. No parking fee that I could see but I have seen other reviews commenting on the parking situation costing $$. Maybe they went to another location. The beaches here are all connected by way of the sand and walking. It was wonderful to sit and listen to the waves on this beautiful early morning outing. Beautiful and stunning beach. There isn't too much people because the beach is pretty expansive. Great view of the coastline on both sides as well as the ever extending Pacific Ocean. Parking is relatively easy as there are a lot of free street parking near residential areas, but then again we did go on a weekday afternoon. The beach is also extremely clean and there are a lot of different activities you can take part in. The only downside is that there are no showering areas. read more

This is one of my favorite beaches to frequent. Love that dogs are allowed!! Plus the wind doesn't seem to get too bad here compared to some of the other popular beaches in the area. Parking can be difficult on a really nice day so it's best to come here early or on a late afternoon. There are some boardwalks to make walking across the beach and finding your spot while carrying all your stuff much easier. I've seen people do some fishing, surfing and kayaking here so it's not super rough water most of the time. Not much else to say. It's a great beach and a go-to! read more

They are the old pier beams from the Del Monte Hotel dock; they are almost directly in front of the street called Camino Aguajito . I was no longer sad or frustrated w/ my past. It's like I have died and started anew. Looking around, I see a rather clear and empty beach. The sands weren't as pretty as the ones you see on television or in such places like Hawaii however, this is my beach... it is kept as clean as it can be, the waters will never be clear, and it's always subzero temperature but it's a great place to kayak, surf, or simply stare and appreciate nature. You can also see sea lions and sea otters! Started my obsession w/ surfing. I kid you not. I will do it in 2 weeks. Life is great now and I couldn't be happier. read more

Great beach in Monterey. Located by the Monterey Tides hotel. Beautiful place to watch the sunset. In the morning you can watch the sea lions playing in the water-they're so cute! Lifeguards are also present during the day which is good. Dogs are allowed on leashes. I read that bonfires are permitted in one place and then I read they're not permitted in another place. A beautiful Pacific Ocean beach stop near Seaside, CA. Del Monte Beach is a wide sandy beach located near a small enclave of beach homes. I took off my shoes and socks and walked at the waters edge. The piles of soft sand feel great under your toes. The sound of the waves was soothing to my soul. I found some shells, driftwood and rocks with shells embedded in the rock. I go to this beach because the dogs are supposed to be ON A LEASH vs Carmel Beach where dogs are OFF LEASH. It is annoying that people have their dogs off leash, they come to my dogs who are on their leashes and get them all riled up. The police should give these violators tickets. Its not fair that my rescue dogs who cant be off leash to have to deal with other dogs. People are selfish and self centered. Follow the law! Additionally, there are alot of homeless people, tents along the beach, trash and dead seals/birds. I would never choose this beach if you have other options. read more

GORGEOUS BEACH This place would be so great to sit and do some homework or to just relax away from everyone. There is literally NOBODY that goes to this beach. It is pretty sad because the isolation makes this a great place for people to throw bonfire parties and not disturb anybody/ not risk getting caught, so there are a lot of broken bottles on the tops of the sand dunes. There also are a few homeless people living here, but I kinda envy them. This is definitely where I would want to live, even if it meant living in a tent. Why don't I, you may ask? Because it is not socially acceptable to do so and I am a vagina when it comes to chilly-ness. I would get hypothermia and die in the night! read more
