This was a drive-by. This was one of the most beautiful beaches I have ever seen. The water is aqua-colored and the rocks are pristine. The Lone Cypress was a breathtaking site. Smell salt in the air and bask in the sun. It was a windy day- but we still stopped on the 17 mile trail and took in the absolutely wonderful view. If you are anywhere close-go there!! It is worth it!!

I couldn't help but wonder, why would they call it the Pebble Beach? ;) It was an amazing drive along the 17 miles, each frame is a work of art. I was not sure if my eyes should be on the road. On a crisp cloud free day, the backdrop of vast clear blue ends miles away where the sea meets the sky. Maybe they share a scandalous love affair, otherwise, how could the blue connect so gently and full of tenderness? Underneath it all, the lone cypress stood there, perhaps waiting. Waiting for a lighting to strike and finally set itself on fire up into flames; or for the high waves to splash into its trunk with its savory and bitterness. He has been there for 250 years, perhaps will be there for 250 more.

Pebble Beach and the 17-Mile Drive were highlights of our trip to the Monterey/Carmel area. The views were incredible! Traffic was minimal. Sea lions and other wildlife were everywhere. The property was clean and well-maintained. The Pebble Beach store/shopping area had all we needed. This is absolutely worth the admission price. We liked the views of the ocean the best.

What is not to love, the beach is always clean the air is always fresh and the scenery is forever changing. A must visit if you are anywhere near the area.

See my review for 17 Mile Drive, for more details.. Pebble Beach embodies the essence of pure & natural beauty in nature's RAWEST forms.. If you are fortunate, you will see deers roaming throughout the vast woods and amongst the native trees. The windy roads and hilly terrain make for rustic country appeal. You will feel captivated - even if you don't believe. Ultra luxe (even for the most renowned worldly luxurious traveler) and conveniently wedged between Monterey & Carmel by the Sea. SPECTACULAR beach for introspection, meditation & exploring your spirituality.

Was recommended to check out this place a while back and sooooo glad I did! I wasn't sure what to expect so for anyone that's new hopefully I can help shed some insight 1) there's a entrance fee of $10 that can be reimbursed when you eat at any of the restaurants listed on the brochure and you have to spend at least $35. We went with this option instead of driving out to look for food. There are at least 4 entrance gates into pebble Beach. Not sure about re-entry, but be sure to ask about that when you pay! 2) some of the restaurants were really fancy, so we opted for casual dining at STICKS - burgers were delicious! They have picnic tables available along the 17 mile drive, so feel free to bring food and have a picnic- #5 and #11 have picnic areas. 3) we went in August - really windy and chilly! Come dressed warm. Definitely not the time to lay out on the beach and catch some sun. Not quite sure I would recommend coming here to enjoy the beach or have a beach day - it's more of a site seeing place. But I did see alot of surfers catching waves!! 4) the beach beach area starts at #5 in Spanish bay, everything after that is more rocky, pebbly and coastal. #6-#10 were some of my favorites! You can see seals far away at Bird Rock! 5) I spent the whole day here and wish I made more time to walk around each numbered site to explore more. Some areas have a small trail for you to explore on and others are just stop, take pics, be in the moment and be on your way to the next site. 6) some areas are private property, watch the signs for no trespassing - this is a gated community. 7) plenty of golf courses for you to check out and maybe about one is opened to the public. 8) lots of pictures taking opportunity, bring enough battery!!! Not recommended to climb the rocks since it's naturally dynamic - never know when you'll be swept away. 9) they have restrooms throughout the 17 mile drive, don't lose that map of yours! 10) stay on 17 mile drive, anything but that road will take you into the neighborhood and other areas not on the map. The signage is pretty helpful if you do lose your map - you can go in a big loop 11) dogs are allowed. Our little pups were having fun exploring the beachy areas. Bring poop bags cause they don't provide any from what I saw. Trash cans are available at every site. I can't think of anything else right now, but I know I want to come back and visit. We made sure we stopped at every site number provided, minus the golf course ones, and every site was a picture worthy moment

Home to one of the most famous scenic drives, the 17-mile drive. With 17 points of interest, located at various points along the beach. You start along the sandy beachside, and the terrain gradually changes to a rocky coastline as you go from Spanish bay beach towards China rock. Then comes bird rock which is a hub for hundreds of sunbathing pelicans and cormorants. Slowly the road winds inside and you will find yourself in a forest with some of the oldest and largest Cypress trees. There's a golf course inside which believe it or not also hosts major tournaments such as the US open and is the No. 1 ranked public course in America.

Beaches are always great but when there's that one special thing that separates it from others, it makes it that much better. The best part of this beach is that it has this part where the rocks on the shore create kind of like a secluded pool like area (it makes sense through my photos). So you'll have the tide coming in and filling your "pool" haha. Another plus is that it has a long 17 mile scenic route to see the sights. (10$ fee) There are definitely beautiful views of the beach through this route but also 60% of it is seeing everyone's huge houses (I guess their yards and majestic gates and castle like houses are beautiful to look at too????) Cons: this beach is within a higher end community so it's tricky to navigate through to actually find the beach you have access to, even with a navigation system or map. You must be careful to not drive into any of the club houses or private property that are a part of the resort. My family goes every summer and we have found that whoever we invite gets frustratingly lost so it's always easier to have everyone just follow behind us in their cars. I would not recommend this place for tourists because there are other easier to navigate, just as beautiful, free beaches along this coast. Because of how hard it is to find, this beach is never crowded from my experience. Most people never even find the public part and I wish I can explain how to get there. Next time I go I will try to figure out good directions. Hopefully my photos can show what I mean by the awesome natural "pools."

5 star beaches rivaling or beating anything you'll see in Hawaii or Florida but it's obvious from some of the reviews here that not everyone is finding them. Maybe they are looking in the wrong place i.e. at the golf courses and big houses instead? Also all beaches in California are public access in case you didn't know: http://www.cnn.com/2015/07/17/us/billionaires-beach-malibu-public-access/ I did see some signs saying to keep off the golf courses which should be expected. I didn't see anyone building any 10 foot concrete walls all along the coast without access points, to prevent anyone from accessing the beaches, like in southern california though. Finally, if you don't mind walking, running or riding a bike, like I did, you don't have to pay a dime to visit any of the beaches here! I"ll let my pictures sum up this review!

Part of the 17mile drive, if you got plenty of time for Monterey trip, go for it. If not, it can be skipped.

Carmel Beach is recognized as having the 'whitest' sand in the United States, and number 14 globally. This color comes from quartz deposits eroded by the waves. There is a parking lot at the north end of the beach on Ocean Avenue (maybe 30 spots or so), that is usually filled, meaning people are constantly idling in the parking lot, waiting for a spot. The parking lot is elevated from the beach, requiring carefully going down a sand bank. My wife and her mom decided to admire the view by sitting on a retaining wall at the top of the bern, while I happily went down to the shoreline to admire the views. The sand here is more golden than white. The road that runs parallel to the beach and boardwalk in Carmel is Scenic Road and we took it as we headed back to our cottage. There was street unmetered parking spots available and I noticed how much brighter/whiter the sand was in this area (a lot less crowded as well). Thinking back, wish we had stopped so I could have admired this part of the beach a bit more.

There are multiple trails through the Point, and each of them showcase stunning views of the sea and saw well as flora and fauna It was barely raining while we were there and it never dampened our spirits. The trails got a little slick, but nothing too dangerous. In fact, this is more of a seaside walking path than a physical intensive hike We saw many seals and otters on our hike. There was also a rest stop that had park rangers and an interactive exhibit that was very cool. You could feel the skin of a seal, otter, and even the baleen from a whale Some tips: If you haven't explored Carmel or Monterey you are just a short drive away There are many coastal hikes and scenic points/beaches to explore. We also enjoyed a more physical hike at the Pinnacles, but that is an hour or so away Cheers!!

It's so serene, scenic, natural, cool, and both the botanical plantlife as well as the animals (air, land, and ocean wildlife) you can find and view here are just so amazing. Being it's in the Monterey Bay, it's almost always cool when it's hot in the valley, so it's another great place to escape to. It's just a very nice and unique point in the bay and although you can spend the whole day here, or even several days, a couple of hours will also be very rewarding for a change of scenery for those of us who are urban dwellers who want to reconnect with God's natural wonders once in awhile. Overall, Point Lobos is an authentic, breathtaking, and calming place for those who enjoy seeing the ocean and taking in all the native plants, vegetations, and all the air, land, and sea creatures one can encounter or at least observe here.
