We stumbled across Del Bajazzo by chance. We were actually on our way to another restaurant which turned out to be full. Del Bajazzo was just around the corner, we were in the mood for pizza, the place looked interesting, so we went inside.
Once inside you immediately get the feeling that you are in a take-away restaurant with a small room on the side to host dine-in guests. I don't think the dine-in room was heated at all. I kept my jacket on until the warm food arrived at which time I felt warm enough to take it off.
The general atmosphere in the restaurant was very old fashioned. Older tables and chairs, slightly stained table cloths (clean, just old), rose in a small vase on the table (with yellowish water), wine bottles for decoration, lots and lots of wood (the walls were lined with timber logs).
The menu was standard Italian food. The pizza and pasta selection was by far the most varied. We ordered a vegetarian pizza and a pizza with rocket, ham and parmesan cheese. Both pizzas were average - I have definitely had better pizza in my life. The vegetarian pizza was extremely oily. We didn't eat three-quarters of it. The rocket pizza was much better! I ate half there and took the rest home.
The service was very attentive and friendly. The prices were standard Italia pizzeria prices.
I would probably not go back to eat at the restaurant, but if I wanted take-away pizza Del Bajazzo would be an option. read more
