As someone who has a loved one in there and got arrested just because he was in a car with someone who isn't smart enough to keep his shit to himself or at home. The women who answers the phone at the bonding department is so rude. I dont want to be rude back because I don't want it effecting my brother in anyway. But a simple you're welcome would do it when someone says thank you. I'm sorry if they weren't raised correctly but being a human back doesn't hurt. I have high anxiety so already going to check or even calling makes me nervous. I've heard bad things about this jail and the last thing i think someone who WORKS there and CHOOSE to work there is to make us more worried with their attitude. This place is TRASH. Came to bail someone out and the bonds front desk staff are the most uncaring and rude people I've had the displeasure of speaking to in twenty years- they acted like the people paying for others were criminals instead of loved ones trying to help! Took a man 30 minutes to get a receipt and the woman even yelled "NO" at him when he made a mistake and treated him even worse because he was not a native english speaker. For a facility that is always hiring, it's clear that you either hire the most careless candidates or wear down employees to the point of hostility towards people who have nothing to do with the fact that they took a terrible job. Of the approximately 20 people I had the pleasure of speaking with either on the phone or in person, a whopping ONE of them was able to provide helpful information. The others spit random numbers at me and acted like it was their first day, if not the first hour at their job. I really wish I'd happened upon the helpful employee first, might have saved me almost 7 hours of waiting my fat, pregnant ass in a jail lobby waiting for someone to be released for a laughable offense. I could have gone home and taken a nap or crocheted a new sweater for my cat, but nah, 18 people didn't bother to mention this was a 6 to 12 hour process AFTER the bond is paid. ... and get better chairs for your lobby. I still have grill marks embedded into my asshole from sitting on those things, and clean the bathrooms. Any lobby should feel a bit more welcoming than this, unless you intend for the rest of us to suffer and feel like we're in jail for committing a crime! I was told the rest of the jail is filled with scabby, flaky skinned people serving cold, colorless food, piss and dust coating the floors, and CO's screaming "heeeeeey muthaf$%ka!!" back and forth to each other, so I guess my experience on the outside wasn't quite as traumatizing as it could have been. read more

The food here was horrible I ordered a burger and I got under cooked mashed potatoes:/ the customer service was horrible as well when I complained I was locked in a cell with no windows. After a couple of days I started going insane and throwing my feces on the walls and pulling my hair out. I do not recommend this restaurant at all very bad food and overall negative vibe. I went to dekalb county jail for a traffic ticket FTA in dunwoody. For one the officers are rude and very unprofessional all they do is socialize and giggle all fucking day. Then when you ask a question they immediately say hold on or wait or something along those lines of rude ass shit. They brought us our food late as hell and in the morning they would cut the lights completely off in the cell but at night they'd keep them on slightly. Even though you would think your lights would be on at 6-7am. They never were. They took a whole day to give me my phone code so i had no phone access for a whole day, as well as them waiting a day to bring water. As well as me waiting TWO days for them to bring me pads after asking them multiple times and telling them multiple times i couldn't use tissue as a pad. That's common woman decency to give someone a fucking pad. Everytime i asked for anything it was either "idk" "you're going to have to wait" "hold on" "go back to your cell" like they were the most fucked up jail I've been in. The bunks are fully metal which is expected but the fact that they have air blowing on the top bunk and there's all types of dirty tissues and shit covering it that's a health hazard just turn off the air. This jail held me for a whole night after they told me i was released AT DUNWOODY COURT. I had no prior anything with Dekalb county , i just wanted to go home. They told us to pack up 5 times before actually releasing me and some of the other inmates that i had met. The jail overall is a health hazard there's mold and more and i feel like as a jail there are many people there for petty crimes we are all fucking human and all deserve at least the simple human things that are needed that jail needs to be closed. Today I visited the Dekalb County Permit office. Be it though, my experience was a pleasant one, my only issue would be is the office having a 2 hour lunch break. Closing completely at 11am and reopening at 1pm! Major WTF! I'm torn on how I feel about it because if I worked there, I would consider it to be a sweet deal. But since I don't, it's a major inconvenience. I wonder if it's due to budget cuts? Anyway, if you're not there before 10:30am or so, you'd have to come back at 12:45 and by then the place is packed. Basically standing room only. I came back around 12:50, waited in the lobby and got in line when they opened the blinds promptly at 1pm. I was tended to by a female clerk was both pretty and pleasant. She took my paperwork, ID and $300 money order then told me to have a seat while they conducted a background check. But before I left her window I asked her how long would it take and she politely responded, "about 15 minutes or so!" Needless to say, there was plenty to observe along with lotsa people to watch and scenarios to witness. All things that tend to distract you from the bleak and dilapidated surroundings. Fast forward about 15 or so, I was called to the back by an officer. He was a tall white guy with the classic buzz cut and a cute smile. He too, was very pleasant and was patient with me as I touched up my make-up before taking my picture for my permit. I have nothing negative to say about the Dekalb county permit office other than the ridiculous lunch break but I think the courteousness of the staff makes up for it. Although, I wonder how come the break isn't staggered in order to remain open. Food for thought, I guess! Besides I've got better things to ponder...gotta get this SCHMONAYYYY read more

My name is K Brown and I was born in Kingston, Jamaica. I moved to Atlanta, Georgia when I was 11 or 12 years old. When I moved to Atlanta, Georgia around May 1992 we stayed in Stone Mountain, Georgia. My mother, Carmen Light, was going through a divorce in 1994 and took her anger out on me and went to the Dekalb County Sheriff's Office and told one of the police officers or one of the employee's a lie on K Brown. K Brown was there at the Dekalb County Sheriff's Office and the police officer told K Brown's mother, Carmen Light, that K Brown had did nothing wrong. K Brown agreed with the police officer and she left. K Brown has visited the Lilburn Police Department several times and I have filed a police report on several people, the names are the following, Quarthro Burton, Carmen Light, Paul or Dave Chambers, Colleen Fearon and a couple of people for hitting her cars. These police reports were filed under one police officer named, Officer Suk, who gave K Brown his e-mail address. K Brown still visits the Lilburn Police Department, in Lilburn Georgia. K Brown was in the Gwinnett County Detention Center on December 15, 2016 for marking (2) court papers at the Gwinnett County Courthouse in Lawrenceville, Georgia. K Brown still pleas not guilty during zoom in February 2023 and court in May 2021 because one of the Magistrate Clerk's gave K Brown (2) court papers for free. K Brown also called Mercy Walker or Mercy Hudson when she was in the Gwinnett County Detention Center in December 15, 2016. A lawyer got K Brown out of the Gwinnett County Detention Center. K Brown also had court while in the Detention Center, but K Brown couldn't say anything. K Brown's mother, Carmen Light, also attended court. K Brown's case with Viewpoint Health Center is closed and K Brown is trying to end her case with Salveo Integrative Health. K Brown is waiting to get her disposition letter or her disposition paper from the courthouse in Lawrenceville, Georgia so that she can get her background check complete so that she can start working in a childcare center. K Brown is going to have to file a police report on Mr. Eno for holding K Brown's modeling contract. Mr. Eno's address is 2470 Windy Hill Road, Suite #261, Marietta Ga 30067. His phone number cannot be given out. K Brown gave Mr. Eno her modeling contract to hold for her because K Brown was trying to move out of her house in Lilburn, Georgia. I found the food rather unappealing -- when it appeared, it was on a plastic tray and was not the sort of haute cuisine I have grown accustomed to over the years. There was a sense that I was not free to move about as I desired. The holding cell had no furniture whatsoever, except a metal bench. This is definitely not the finest hotel I have visited. While I did get a free medical checkup, I found the prostate exam the guard gave me a little disquieting. Privacy among my peers wasn't what I had hoped, and when I finally got into the main jail cellblock, I found that the television was a lot smaller than I prefer. Internet access is spotty or nonexistant, and they wouldn't even let us have a computer -- even if we brought one! Rude staff, ordering me around like I was some common criminal. Really, this is not the vacation spot I was hoping for. read more

The Staff is the worse at this facility. You might be able to find maybe one or two officers that are nice and will help you. There is no sense of urgency, they don't care about you at all. They are just there to show up for a check. They talk and laugh right in front of you when you standing in line. They will make you wait and wait and wait even if they are not busy because they are socializing. When its time to do paper work they are laughing talking on the phone texting. Its so bad I couldn't wait to leave a comment, Ive been here three times trying to post a bond. I was the only person in there and it literally took an hour. I hate this place. This facility needs to be closed down permanentlyand the people in jail need to be place somewhere else. Why has it been six hours since I made a bond payment and my gf still not out. Really no Stars!!! Of course jail is no where any one want to be , but I missed a full day of work because Dekalb County officers who ever answers 404)298*8515...Very unprofessional and its sad its accepted because of the county! I love Gwinnett officers very human!! First issue is my bf turned himself in for a minor charge. Dekalb kept him a day longer saying the other county had a hold on him! Hold was lifted 8hrs prior to the release from Dekalb .Gwinnett sent information to Dekalb several hours earlier and this makes me nervous because Dekalb could have killed him or harmed him becAuse be wasn't even suppose to be there! The hold should have taken maximum of 4 hrs to remove not 8 or more! I don't work in a jail but I know it's all up to how fast they want to move. I hope people stop doing dumb crimes and stop funding jails . they are pointless anyways...Dekalb is horrible. I spoke with A bonding manager which he was rude as well. Telling me that Gwinnett knows the procedure to fax not email then tell me that they just received a fax a 7 when the fax/email/call was made to remove hold as 430!! Systems update same time. I logged into Gwinnett system. And saw the hold recalled as of 5! Called Dekalb as of 5:30pm they had no idea, but why couldnt they log into the same system I'm using?!? Called back at 6:30pm nothing. Tell me Gwinnett never sent information. call back almost 7:30pm...just so happen they just received fax & are working on it! I did their job from outside the jail. Meanwhile I'm not getting paid for waiting ....Currently still waiting and its 8:46pmlets not forget I paid Gwinnett as of 12:45pm read more

I would like to Thank Mrs. Gayle or (Hayle) also SGT Robinson. My love one was sick. They talked with me on several occasions to assure me that they would do their very best with my loved one. And they did. 5 star for that.The problem I have if the law allows a person to prove insane in court. They could probably not be charged or receive a lesser charge. But the same system will lock a person up who is clearly in a psychosis. And this jail has history of my love one. Why couldn't they get medical help. It's clearly important for the Jail to make money and not help a sick person. Maybe someone at the front desk had some of their compassion my loved one could've avoided an arrest. My love one was in a psychosis and they have that on record but still placed my loved one under arrest. We pay enough taxes when will the world ever become a better place. Inmates are treated like dogs here. An inmate found a roach in his food yesterday. Also, every officer on duty has their own set of rules. My husband complains everyday on how they talk to him and treat him. He is on the trustee program which is a waste of time because Dekalb County Jail do not support the 2/1 rule for trustee's. Also they take the phone before 11pm and lock them out of their rooms which was told to them when they signed out that this was a privilege of being a trustee. The lieutenants talk to them and treat them like animals. My husband was told by the lady that work in the library that she doesn't like how he copy papers and it irks her. LOL. How can copying paper irk you? Also, she was very ugly to him because of the hours that I visited him (which they set visiting hours). The female hours will turn you around in a second about your attire. Don't be a lady with a shapely body or anything that you wear they will hate on you and send you home. I have seen several lady officers in tight pants but that's okay? Or maybe they want the inmates to get an arousal for them and not anyone else. I hate this place. The whole staff has bad attitudes and their own set of rules and there is nothing the poor inmates can do to complain. This place isn't fit for a dog. I hate this place, hate to visit my husband, and doing all that I can to get him out asap read more
